Extended Summary

After being kissed by Ruby, Xavier is stressing over whether to tell April. He sees her on the wharf and then at school, but he can’t bring himself to do it. Tony advises him to tell April the truth – except when Tony did that last time, it didn’t work out so well. Tony tells him that if he’s going to come clean, it has to be his own choice, and he has to be comfortable with it. Xavier is left confused, so he turns to John, who tells him to keep it to himself – nothing good will come of telling April the truth. Xavier is torn over what to do, he eventually comes clean to April and to his surprise she is cool with his response. Xavier thanks John for his advice – in future he’ll go straight to him for advice, and do the exact opposite. Relations between the pair seem to be mellowing, if only very slightly.

Charlie confides in Leah that she is worried about Angelo’s restaurant idea, she thinks he’s rushing it and he’s not going to be able to get everything done on time, especially as the opening is next week. Leah tells her that starting up a new business is stressful, but if Angelo has anything on his side, it’s that he’s had plenty of experience dealing with stress. Angelo is stressing, especially when Alf tell him it’s unlikely he’ll get an extension on the opening date. Later, Angelo meets Charlie and she realises just how stressed he is about meeting his deadlines. Charlie offers to help him, but when she sees first hand the extent of Angelo’s problems, she grows very concerned. She confronts him about the business, confessing that she doesn’t believe he can pull it off, which leaves Angelo shattered.

VJ is excited about Elijah’s talk at careers day, as is Leah, who is happy that Elijah is doing things as part of the family. Leah can’t hide her happiness to Rachel, she really is on cloud nine about her relationship with Elijah. At the talk, Elijah is nervous, but VJ gives him a pep talk – he’ll be fine. It gets off to a shaky start, but when delivering the part of the speech about his time as a missionary, it is a great success with the kids – though on hearing this, Leah can’t help but wonder if Elijah misses his time as a missionary. She asks him about it, but he assures her he loves his life with her. Later on, Leah asks Elijah if there’s any way he can combine parish work with missionary work – she can see he misses it. He tells her he’s happy doing what he’s doing.
