Sam feels threatened by Martha yet again. Jack struggles with confused emotions, who does he really love? Dom is back, and he has plans for Belle.
Extended Summary
After finally waking from his coma, Jack tells Martha that he knew she’d be there, he was waiting for her voice. Taking her hand tenderly, he asks why she’s not wearing her wedding ring, and she realises that he thinks they’re still married! When Sam and Rory arrive, he’s confused for a moment before everything comes back to him. Martha disappears as Sam showers him in kisses, but despite his memory returning, the emotion he felt for Martha, the intensity, remains. Everyone is ecstatic to have Jack back, but Martha is having trouble shrugging off the irrational guilt she feels for Jack’s reaction to her, and Sam is beginning to sense something between her fiancé and his ex wife.
Jack asks Tony to find Martha for him, he wants to talk to her alone, but when Michael tells Tony what happened when Jack woke up, he returns to his son with some words of advice. He tells Jack to wait, he’s only just woken up, he’s confused, there’s no sense risking everything based on such a confused state of mind. Jack has little choice but to reluctantly agree. Despite her suspicions, Sam is grateful when Martha arrives with the finalized divorce papers, but asks what Jack’s first words were when he woke up. Martha’s lie is a huge relief, she tells Sam he asked where she was. But it’s clear that Jack is having some serious doubts about where his love truly lies.
With Jack awake, Annie accidentally lets slip about Lucas’ scholarship, despite being told to keep it to herself by both Luc and Geoff. But despite Luc’s misgivings, Jack and Tony tell him to take it.
Enjoying their road trip, Drew and Belle are blissfully unaware that Dom is back, and following them. It seems he’s far from over his obsession with Belle. But things get cut short when Belle discovers she’s landed the cadetship she wanted as a photographer for the Coastal News, and has to return to the Bay. Drew is less than understanding, accusing her of ruining their road trip, and then they run out of petrol. After finding a service station, Belle has been to the toilet and as she is washing up she turns to find Dom standing there.
