Extended Summary

Kelli is having a glass of wine and is startled when she sees Ethan behind her – what’s he doing here?! He missed her… Kelli berates him – Amanda could walk in at any moment! They share a passionate kiss, before Kelli sends him on his way – this is getting way too risky… Belle, meanwhile, is telling Drew that she thinks Kelli is two faced, still trying to put the pieces together – maybe she wants money from Amanda knowing she’s now rich? Belle arrives home to Amanda & Peter – she has bought earrings for Kelli & Belle as thanks for being bridesmaids. Kelli remarks she hopes Ryan’s inheritance isn’t being spent on them. Belle flares at the mention of Amanda’s money again. Kelli then talks to Belle of the love letter she found – she didn’t want to share the details of her depressing life while there was so much joy with Amanda’s wedding. Both women are secretly trying to suss each other out – is Kelli lying again? Is Belle buying her story? Kelli moves off and Belle sees she’s left her mobile behind. She scrolls through the numbers & messages looking for a clue, determined. The mobile then rings. She freezes. Belle remembers that ring tone. It’s the same one she heard when she was trapped in the room during her abduction. The colour drains from Belle’s face – Kelli was involved! Belle bolts out, passing a bemused Amanda & Peter. Kelli appears, sees her phone and is concerned, wondering if Belle has just discovered something. Belle finds Drew and fills him in – Kelli arrived in town the day she was abducted, and the ring tone is rare and identical to the one she heard. Drew isn’t convinced. Belle heads off again to catch Kelli out, leaving Drew frustrated. Back at Amanda’s, Kelli is now alone and is shocked to open the door to Clyde! He’s in trouble and demands five grand. If she doesn’t, he’ll tell Amanda and the cops all he knows.

Cassie is on her way to a counselling session with Dan, when she sees Lucas. She suggests he come along, might help with the Belle situation? Lucas outright refuses. He doesn’t want to talk about it and heads off. She’s concerned for her mate. Later, Cassie is on the phone to council – frustrated that they don’t seem enthusiastic about the publics need for a help line set up for counselling. Colleen overhears and tells Cass there used to be one a few years ago, but it burnt down. You don’t need council funding Pet, it’s community spirit! This leaves Cassie with food for thought. She heads to the Diner and starts scribbling ideas down for money making ventures. She smiles when Dan enters – Cassie runs her idea by him – setting up their own counselling phone line. Dan points out that it’s not easy, or cheap, but Cass is determined – she has a great feeling about this, she can raise the money. Dan agrees to back the cause if she can get the cash. Deal.

There’s laughter at the Surf Club as Peter, Amanda and Leah talk about the wedding over a drink, waiting for Dan to take them to the wedding venue. He turns up and they head for the door as Belle rushes in, wanting to talk to Amanda. She shares her fear of Kelli’s involvement in her abduction – Amanda is stunned at the suggestion and berates Belle before heading out. Belle is deflated, she knows she needs hard evidence. On her way home, Belle runs into Lucas. It’s awkward, she tries to apologise again – but Lucas isn’t interested and tells her to run to Drew before marching off. Feeling rotten, Belle continues, then sees a car pass on the street and recognises the driver – they man who abducted her – it’s Clyde! Back at Amanda’s, Clyde arrives again and Kelli hands him the wads of cash and tells him she never wants to see him again. She shuts the door in his face. Belle continues to charge along the road after Clyde’s car and tries to call Drew. She then sees the same car driving toward her, Clyde is driving. She steps onto the road, he brakes suddenly, cash flies about in the car. Belle stomps to the window – Clyde recognises her and plays innocent, shoving cash into a bag beside him. Belle clocks this – and the bag – it’s the one Amanda brought her and Kelli’s gifts home in. Kelli is involved. Clyde panics – Belle tells him her mum’s fiancés a cop – he won’t get away with this, as Clyde speeds off.

He returns to Kelli, filling her in on the run in with Belle. Kelli freaks – she has to sort this mess out, and fast. She calls Ethan for help. Meanwhile, Belle finds Drew and tells him all – this time he believes her – they should call his dad – he apologises for not believing her earlier. They wait at the Surf Club for Peter and Amanda and fill them in – Belle reveals he had a bag full of cash – one of the bridal bags. Amanda doesn’t like what Belle is implying. Peter then gets a call, there’s been a car accident. He races off as Kelli arrives. Belle confronts her – she knows she paid Clyde off. Amanda is furious at Belle as Kelli plays ‘innocent’, then Peter comes off the call – turns out the car accident was fatal – the driver was the man who abducted Belle – there was a note confessing to the abduction and five grand cash, but no bridal bag. Belle can’t believe it – she knows Kelli set this up!
