Dan climbs out of bed, careful not wake Amanda. What has he done?? Amanda awakes with a smile, satisfied she finally got her catch but is disappointed to discover Dan is nowhere to be seen. Amanda is flirtatious when Dan returns home. She pours her heart out, insisting she couldn’t be happier that they are back together and everything is now as it should be! They are a family again! Dan is non-responsive as Amanda carries on – how is he going to get out of this one??? Dan realises he must bite the bullet and admits to making a wrong decision. Dan is overwhelmed with guilt as he walks out, leaving Amanda who is absolutely heartbroken.
Kim is busy packing up his belongings when Dan arrives. Kim is relieved he’s got another set of hands to help with the move. Dan questions if he and Jack are on the look out for a third flat mate? Kim is stunned as Dan brings him up to speed on his latest actions.
Rachel catches up with Dan as he sits at the beach, feeling rotten for hurting Amanda. Rachel encourages Dan to just talk to Leah – maybe they can sort something out. Dan gets the impression she might know more than she letting on. Leah is surprised when Dan arrives on the doorstep. She is dressed to go out, and Dan hesitates, realising she has a date. Dan makes a quick excuse to leave but Leah is curious as he moves off – what was he about to tell her?
Meanwhile, the girls are helping Jack and Kim prepare their bachelor pad. Cassie is carrying on with Martha and Rachel how fantastic Macca is. Especially after he offered to give her some boxing lessons! Martha moves off and confronts Macca about his intentions. Cassie deserves better than to be just another one of her brother’s flings. Macca promises he will do the right thing by Cassie but Martha is not so confident.
Dan hesitantly returns to Amanda’s place to collect the last of his belongings. He is moving in with Kim and Jack. He enters, nervous about confronting Amanda but is curious to find the house empty. He spots a note on the table and his face fills with shock as he reads on. Amanda and Ryan have left the Bay to start a new life elsewhere!
Belle is struggling to contain her excitement about finally meeting her mother. She takes a deep breath as she approaches the front door. Belle is speechless as she is greeted by the woman she believes is her mother, unaware of the bombshell Kitty is about to drop. Kitty is in fact her grandmother! Belle is reeling from the revelation, as Kitty explains that her mother died in child birth and she had to adopt Belle out because she could not support her. Belle is disappointed to learn any photos Kitty had of Belle’s mother perished in a fire. Ric comforts Belle – at least she now knows the truth. Or does she?
Kitty is still reeling from her meeting with Belle and admits to her housekeeper she didn’t tell her the full truth. Kitty felt she had no choice but to hide the true identity of Belle’s mother. The housekeeper moves to a side table and takes a photo from the drawer – oh my god – it is a photo of Amanda!…
…Amanda’s car speeds along past the sign “You are now leaving Summer Bay”. Amanda is Belle’s mother and she’s just left town for good!
