Extended Summary

Dalby is on the run in the city – tired, hungry and living out of clothing bins. Flynn rings a Kids’ Outreach friend who confirms a sighting of Dalby. Flynn decides to head to the city. Alf wants to go with him but Flynn says it would only make things worse. Alf says if it helps Flynn, he can tell Dalby the truth about them being related. It’s a big call and a huge step forward for Alf.

Peter is out of hospital and staying at Leah’s house. Dan thinks it’s a bit of risk given his misplaced feelings towards Leah. But Leah says she’s forgiven Peter over Vinnie, and he will see how strong she and Dan are and realise there’s no place for him in her life – except as a friend. Peter overhears all of this and knows it’s time for a big talk.

Scott surprises his family by revealing that he and Kit are going to Paris together over summer. Robbie’s happy, Matilda’s bitter he didn’t choose her, and Beth is upset the first Christmas at the new house will be incomplete. Robbie thinks laterally; they don’t have to wait until the 25th; they can celebrate Christmas the very next day!

Kim’s devastated Kit will be away for six weeks. He wants to demand Kit stay with him, but it’s way too soon to be getting serious. The normally ‘too cool for school Kim’ is in a love-muddle. He fronts up at the Palace to explain himself to Kit stay, but the words get confused in the process and he ends up kissing her passionately and striding out of the room.

Peter tells Leah he has strong feelings for her; he’s jealous of Dan – he won’t deny that – but he accepts their relationship and would never do anything to hurt her. Under the circumstances, he’d understand if she wanted him to leave. Leah wants nothing of the sort. She thinks being around her and Dan will snap him out of his delusion. Peter feels like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. After all the lies, he’s finally told the truth and been rewarded for it.

Dan and Peter have an intense chat on the beach. Dan says Peter has to accept his relationship with Leah is a fact. Peter agrees, but he’s going to need Dan to support him over the coming weeks. His body is weak from the coma, and so his psyche. Dan shakes his hand and we get the sense the two brothers are beginning the long climb back to true friendship.

In the city, Dalby throws up. He’s still very sick inside. He knows he should go to a hospital but fear of the police is clouding his judgement.

Kim demands Kit make a decision about whether she’s going to Paris. She decides she’s still going; but she’s going to spend the next two days before her departure, showing him he’s got nothing to worry about. She kisses him passionately. The meaning is clear; she’s his and he’s hers. These guys are getting serious.
