Alf read about her jail sentence for embezzlement “15/16 years” ago.

Extended Summary

Alf tells Dani about his romance with Viv (aka the Guv). When they were teenagers Viv used to come to the Bay for summer holidays and over time the two fell madly in love. Eventually they were engaged to be married. But with Viv being a Catholic and Alf a Protestant they faced problems. This was back in a time when such things mattered. They planned to stand up to their parents and get married, but then one day she just left. He tried desperately to find her, but failed. Then about 15 years ago he read about her in the papers – a businesswoman, sprung for embezzlement. By then he was with Ailsa, so he didn’t see the point of getting in touch with her.

Colleen’s squawking manages to interrupt Alf’s touching walk down memory lane. She reports that Morag’s got the painters in and has decided to give Alf’s flat a facelift. Ruddy hell woman!

Hayley tells Kit that she’s decided what to do with Noah’s insurance money. She’s investing it in the Bar and will be partners with Jesse and Josie.

Kit and Kim’s dinner is a success and it’s obvious that the pair enjoy each others company. Kit is leaving tomorrow for uni in the city, but they agree that they will hang out some more during her next holidays. Kim leans in and gives her a gentle kiss.

The next day she says her goodbyes to Hayley and admits that Kim is so much more than the egotistical himbo she thought he was. Hayley invites her to stay at the Palace when Kit returns to the Bay.

Dani gives Alf Viv’s manuscript to read. It brings a tear to his eye. He reminisces about the day he proposed to his Viv. He tells Dani that if Viv agrees, he’d love to have her transferred to the local hospital.

Morag has been very cagey with Josie – on the surface you’d think they were best buddies. In reality, she is very suspicious of Josie’s sudden wealth and so is investigating her finances. Morag later arrives at Josie’s house like a dog with a new bone. She announces to Josie that she’s just had a very interesting phone call. Morag wants Josie to tell her everything about her involvement with Ian Osborne.
