***

THE PALACE
Dani is explaining what has happened to an oblivious Scott as they arrive back home, and he is confused at how the mistake was made – they had a bit of bad weather, but nothing serious. None of it seems to make sense, and Scott reckons it’s more than a simple mistake – it must have put loads of people through hell. He decides to pay the cops a visit to let them know that h’s alive, but Dani tells him that there are other people that need to see him first…

CARAVAN PARK
Beth breaks down in tears of happiness as she and Scott are reunited. The rest of the family grins, overjoyed to have Scott back, and Kane too reckons the police made a “pretty big wrong”. Rhys is stunned as he walks in to find Scott alive and well, and they hug, Rhys demanding that he do nothing to scare them like that again.

Kirsty wanders outside, and is followed out to the back patio by Kane. He tries to talk her into going to the hospital – he knows she’s worried, but he wants to know if there is something wrong with their baby. She is already blaming herself, despite he insisting that it’s NOT her fault, telling her that if there is something wrong, then they’ll work it out – together. As they hug, Kirsty is looking a bit too anxious.

DINER
Alf is busy blowing on a cake box as Val enters, seeking news on Scott. Alf is able to tell her that he’s fine, and she too is relieved. That wonderful piece “Beautiful lie” starts up again as she starts to cry, and Alf offers her a drink. She apologises for being so teary, explaining that she has ‘been with Scott every step of the way’ – his first day at school, and when Jack and Beth got him the pony. She doesn’t regret the choices that she has made, and although she never wanted to hurt anyone she is adamant that there was more to the affair – it was more than a “mad man and his mistress”. He, surprisingly coldly, tells her that it’s none of his business, and she mutters that she just wanted to get some stuff off her chest, before wiping away her tears and departing. Without having had her coffee.

HOSPITAL
Kirsty sits on a bed as Kane stands by her side, Flynn telling them that they’re just going to do some routine tests to make sure that all is well. Kirsty is taken away by a nurse, and Flynn and Kane are left alone. Kane asks Flynn for a favour – if there is bad news, then he wants to be the one to break it to Kirsty. Flynn is understanding, but is quick to point out that there probably won’t be anything wrong – all the tests are routine, and he has to stay positive and concentrate on the moment that he gets to hold his child in his arms. Kane feels like they’ll be waiting forever, but admits that it’s going to be “pretty exciting”.

THE PALACE
Scott is having a bit of trouble on the phone to the cops, who seem to think it is some sort of prank. As he hangs up, he tells Dani that the cop they’re after doesn’t exist, and they don’t even have a body. Dani is puzzled – why would someone pretend to be a cop. Scott’s look says it all, but Dani refuses to believe Felix would do something like that. Scott reckons it makes perfect sense – Felix wants to hurt her, and he has done a good job of it. Dani points out that it was a woman who came to the door (errrr, like Felix would come to the door himself…) but Scott isn’t shaken – if the cops won’t do anything, then he’ll sort ot out himself – Felix has gone too far this time.

HOSPITAL
Kirsty is having an ultrasound, and Kane is back with her as they finally get a glimpse of their child. They are obviously overjoyed, Kirsty stating that it never really felt real before. However, the nurse and Flynn do a bit of concerned whispering, before informing them that the baby is a bit small for it’s age. Flynn is quick to put to rest any concerns, telling the couple that the baby will be fine.

OUTSIDE SURF CLUB
Matilda is grumpy about being made to go to school after having suffered severe emotional trauma. Henry just rolls his eyes at her, but when Kim comes along, Matilda sees her trauma as the ideal way to get her claws onto him. He apologises for what has happened, unaware that Scott is alive and well, and as soon as he says the standard “if there’s anything I can do…”, Matilda throws her arms around him in grief, clinging to him like a leech as Henry storms off in disgust. Kim glances around awkwardly, decidedly unsure on how to behave.

Later, Henry is back with Matilda, who watches on as Kim laughs with, and leers at, some older girls. Henry is furious at her earlier behaviour – she is so low sometimes, and he refuses to believe that Kim would look twice at Matilda. She, however, is insistent that Kim thinks she’s amazing – he just doesn’t know it yet. Henry bets her 50bucks that she won’t get Kim to go out with her, and she hesitantly agrees. Henry departs, leaving her watching Kim and the older girls, still laughing together.

CARAVAN PARK
After having heard of the Felix involvement, Beth can’t comprehend how anyone could be so cruel, and they wonder where the girl fits in – whether she knew how much trouble she was causing. They realise that Felix will escape scot-free – the cops culd only charge the girls with impersonating an officer – and Rhys proposes that he and Scott go and have “a word” with Felix. Beth talks them out of it – Rhys will find himself in trouble if he breaks the law, and they should try legal avenues first and try for an AVO. Dani agrees that it’s “worth a try”.

HOSPITAL
Scott and Dani are walking aimlessly through hospital corridors, and they decide that they will seek Morag’s help in their battle against Felix. They come across Val, but Scott is dismissive when she tells him how wonderful it is that he’s ok. After Val has gone, Dani tells Scott that Val doesn’t mean any harm, trying to persuade him that despite not owing her anything, he still ought to talk to her and at least try to understand. He doesn’t see it as being his business, but Dani insists that if it is making him feel bad, then it is – and if Beth managed to forgive Val, then surely he can.

BREAK

CARAVAN PARK
Matilda waltzes into the kitchen, debating what to spend her fifty dollars on, but Henry is equally convinced that Kim wouldn’t go out with her. One biscuit remains in the pack on the kitchen counter, and Henry succeeds in grabbing it, staking his claim to it by licking it. Beth intervenes as the twins squabble once more, but Henry can’t resist bad-mouthing Matilda. He tells Beth about Kim thinking Scott was dead, and Matilda not setting him straight so that she could get a hug. Beth is horrified, and as Henry sniggers in the background, Matilda gets a roasting from Beth for pretending her brother was dead to get attention from a boy. Matilda objects to being sent to her roiom, on the basis that she’s not a kid, and is determined to disobey her mother. Beth warns Matilda not to try her patience.

HOSPITAL
Flynn arrives to have a word with Kirsty whilst Kane isn’t there, and she is desperate to know what is wrong, wondering if some babies are just naturally small. Flynn tells her that there’s always a reason – and they have to establish what that is. She tells him confidently that she has been doing “everything the book says”, but stumbles when Flynn asks her whether she has been eating properly. She tells him shakily that maybe she hasn;t been, but doesn’t give a reason. Flynn explains that some women fear that their partners won’t find them attractive anymore, and Kirsty starts to feel stupid. Flynn informs her that motherhood starts when you concieve – and it is her responsibility to eat properly. Kirsty’s terrified that she has hurt her baby, but Flynn assures her that it’ll be fine – but from now on, she has to eat properly. Kirsty aska him not to tell her family, or Kane, but Flynn thinks Kane at least has a right to know.

BEACH
Matilda approaches Kim, who voices his relief that Scott is alright after all, and Matilda thanks him for his sympathy at lunch. She decides to go for a swim, and he takes the opportunity to warn her of the sharks in the area. She can only respond with a large dose of sarcasm that he’s very funny. Indeed.

HOSPITAL
Kane approaches Flynn – he knows that Flynn told Kirsty that the baby would be fine, but he just wants to check that all is well, and there is nothing Flynn is holding back. Flynn is confident, but the blood and urine tests should show them more. The most important thing is that Kirsty start eating properly, and Kane understands this. They take a walk down a corridor, and Flynn comments on how ‘big’ the year has been for Kane with a marriage and a kid on the way, with Kirsty’s HSC on top of that. He also comments on the fact that things between Kane and Rhys have thawed, and how the less stress Kirsty is put under, the better. As the men separate, we move to Scott and Val.

Scott invites Val out for a coffee, wanting to talk, and Val looks pretty taken aback – she understands that he owes her nothing, especially after the way she has interrupted his family recently. Scott still wants to try and get his head around things though. Dani interrupts to announce that Kane and Kirsty are ready to go, and Scott and Val bid their farewells. As the couple depart, Val also walks off, entering a small room-cum-cupboard. She pulls a suiotcase from a cupboard in their, startled as a nurse walks in to grab a couple of bits and pieces. After the nurse has gone, Val pushes the case back into the cupboard and conceals it beneath a white sheet.

BEACH HOUSE
Kane and Kirsty are back from the hospital, and Kane is preparing food in the kitchen as Kirsty tells him what Flynn said (the baby will be ok etc). He wonders if anything else is stressing her out, and she takes the opportunity to broach the topic of her lack of consumption. He had been assuming that she just hadn’t been eating as a result of the morning sickness, and she tries to sert him straight, informing him that she’s been feeling a bit odd now she’s pregnant and has been cutting back. Kane stares, bewildered, as he puts two and two together “dieting… you’re kidding, aren’t ya?”. She can only apologise as he stares in silence for a while, before swinging himself over to sit on the table opposite her. He is angry that she thought he was so shallow that he only cares what she looked like, and professes his love for her. They kiss, and she tells him that seeing the baby made everything real, and the last thing she wants to do is hurt their child. He believes her, and assures her that everything will be fine.

BEACH
Matilda is floundering around in the water as Henry arrives looking for her. He discusses Matilda and her “unique way of doing things” (ie. manipulative pranks) with Kim, and Kim comments that he used to want a brother or sister… but now he isn’t too sure. henry points out how desperate Matilda is to get his attention as she waves madly at them, and Kim reckons she’ll get over it – because there’s no way he’s going to fall for her. Out in the water, Matilda appears to be getting into a bit of strife.

BEACH HOUSE
Kane does some drilling with a cordless drill, fixing up something or other for Irene in the kitchen. Kirsty wishes that she could have talked to him about the situation, but tells him that she felt stupid – she’s a pregnant adult and she ought to be on top of everything. Kane muses that it would have been nice for the baby to have held off for a while, and Kirsty slyly comments that “he must be like his Dad… impatient”. He retaliates with “must be like her Mum… always wanting to get her own way”. The ensuing kiss is rudely interrupted by Flynn, who comes bearing bad news – there was blood and protein in Kirsty’s urine and they need to get her back into hospital asap.

BEACH
Kim seems to be ignorant of Matilda’s plight as she struggles to remain above the water.
