Extended Summary

James is over the moon that Chloe has changed her mind about trying for baby and makes plans about the surgery and baby names. Chloe does not feel the same way however and continues to use the contraceptive pill behind James’ back. She tells Irene about her being on the Pill and Irene warns her against saying it will end in disaster if Chloe is not careful. Irene asks Chloe if Lachie was to come back to Summer Bay and say his marriage had been a mistake would Chloe take him back and Chloe says she would. Irene says that this is unfair to James especially about the baby and that she should discuss with James her feelings Irene thinks he would understand. Chloe does not believe this however but Irene says that if she loves James in any way she would stop their marriage.

Hayley and Will discuss Peta’s behaviour. Hayley tells Will about how Peta stormed out of the diner when she suggested sleeping at Peta’s house for the night. Will agrees with Hayley and says that every time he mentions going over to Peta’s she finds reasons for them not to go. Peta apologises to Hayley later in the day for her behaviour explaining she has a sick gran at home and that she is stressed about it. At lunchtime Peta realises she has forgotten to bring the money for the school trip so Sam suggests they all go to Peta’s house so she can get the money. Before Peta can respond they are all heading in the direction of Peta’s house. In the garden they meet Peta’s brother David who says he used the money to pay bills so he will need to visit the Bank and will drop the money in at the school later. Hayley wants to go in for a glass of water but David says she cannot, as there is a problem with the water.

Will tells David later when he drops by the school that he is dating Peta so he will call round at the house quite often. David says that their gran is old fashioned and that Peta would be in trouble for seeing Will.

Vinnie informs James that he wishes to try alternative therapies rather than the radiotherapy. James respects his decision but he believes that Vinnie would be better with the radiotherapy. Sally is impressed with the changes Vinnie has made in his life, his better diet, and that he is laughing. Vinnie explains that he read a book about a man with a serious life threatening illness, which was cured by laughter. He then proceeds to tell Sally some bad jokes.
