When Shelley doubted Gypsy’s claims to have feelings for her on the grounds she’d never shown interest in females before, Gypsy’s response was to start spending time with Desiree, who was openly gay, and take her along to the Drop-In Centre. During a later visit, Desiree kissed Gypsy in the kitchen, which was witnessed by Dani. Afterwards, however, Gypsy began pulling back and Desiree realised the kiss had made her feel uncomfortable. Upset at being used, she went to Gypsy’s house and told her that it was hard being the person she was in a small town and having someone like Gypsy show an interest had been a big thing for her.
