Raffy’s near drowning serves as a much needed wake up call for everybody. Will this new lead provide Robbo with the answers he so desperately seeks? Irene is blown away by community support in the lead up to her trial.

Extended Summary

Justin reaches the spot where Raffy went under and, after a few attempts, manages to grab her and pull her up onto his board, taking her back to shore. John and Mason are waiting and get Raffy into the recovery position, where she soon comes round. No-one can explain why she was out there. At the motel, Robbo is going over the evidence while Jasmine has changed into her uniform. Robbo assures her it’s fine for her to go in since the immediate threat’s over. She tells him to be careful before leaving with a plain clothes officer.

Marilyn joins Justin, Mason and John at Raffy’s bedside in hospital; Alex and Jasmine are there and Justin wonders about Jasmine’s presence. Alex also checks it’s okay for her to be there. Alex addresses her questions to Raffy but it’s Justin who says what happened and John who says she always takes her medication. When John again stops Raffy answering a question, Alex asks them all to give them space before asking Raffy if they’re really all related to her and why she did it. Raffy says she just wanted to be normal. Alex understands. At the Diner, Leah finishes a phone call with Justin and updates Alf and Irene. She asks Irene how her support group felt about helping at the trial. Irene says they’re behind her and some of them might turn up at court, but they also advised her to not talk about her case. Leah says her vlog will just be general discussion about supporting victims of abuse then.

Robbo looks through Sean and Dylan’s files, placing Sean’s photo on the board. He calls Lance, asking for details of Sean’s associates and his family and for him to check CCTV to see if it caught Sean with Dylan. At the hospital, Alex sends Jasmine to arrange an x-ray for Raffy. She tells Raffy’s family she wants to review her medication. Mason says it’s been reviewed several times but she’s still having breakthrough seizures and also explains about the trial being cancelled. Marilyn asks if they can see her and Alex says she’ll tell them when. She tracks down Jasmine and asks where her bodyguard is; Jasmine says he’s probably dying of boredom. Alex says she needs to know her staff and patients are safe. She’s called away but says they’ll talk later.

Irene teases Willow about buying two lunches from the Diner and Willow explains she’s going to surprise Jasmine. Irene joins Leah, who has just finished a phone conversation with Teresa from Irene’s support group; the other women are going to tell their stories for her vlog. Irene is fine with it if they’re doing it for the right reasons. At the hospital, John and Marilyn chat about Jasmine’s bodyguard. Alex joins the group and says there’s no fluid on Raffy’s lungs but wonders why she was out on the water. Marilyn notes she’s been down and John says she was worried about her HSC. Justin recalls her saying she didn’t want to let the epilepsy control her. Alex lets them in to see Raffy.

Willow meets a grateful Jasmine and they head into a cubicle for lasagne, a change from takeaways. Jasmine asks for news of the outside world. Willow says her own life is boring but does tells her about Dean walking in on Colby and Mackenzie twice. Jasmine admits she might have messed up with Alex, who promptly interrupts them: They give a flustered explanation that Willow was after medical advice and Willow offers a free PT session if Alex goes easy on Jasmine. Alex tells Jasmine she’s a good nurse but wants to be updated on any threats to the staff, including her.

Alex shoos Raffy’s family out of the room again, saying she’s sixteen so makes her own medical choices now and suggests they’re mollycoddling her. Alone apart from Jasmine, Alex tells Raffy that people with epilepsy live normal lives: Firefighters, athletes and doctors…including her. Raffy is shocked, since being a doctor needs a lot of work. Alex says it was hard, including having a seizure during her HSC chemistry exam, but you have to take control of your condition. She adds that that includes knowing your limitations: Raffy can swim but should have a friend with her.

Alf chats to John and Marilyn near the bait shop about Alex. They’re not sure about her but note Raffy seems to like her. Justin, Mason and Raffy arrive; Marilyn gives Raffy a hug and John comments about mollycoddling. Raffy says she’s going to stick to her medication and also use some of Marilyn’s ideas. She hugs Justin and thanks him for saving her. Left alone, Justin and Mason comment on Raffy growing up and Mason indicates he’s also a fan of Alex. That evening, Alex finds Willow at the surf club and asks for the free session, admitting she’s new in town and doesn’t have anywhere else to go. When Willow asks what she’s into, Alex looks blank and Willow realises she’s never been to a gym before. She promises to help her out.

Robbo is on the phone to Scott, convinced Sean must have let something slip to someone, but it slowly dawns on him that Dylan wouldn’t have made a mistake and has a two year head start on them. He punches Dylan’s photo in frustration. When Jasmine arrives, Robbo admits Sean is a dead end and he has no leads. His only chance is to remember what happened on the boat and how Dylan got off it…but he has no idea how.

At the Diner, Raffy notes lavender oil is calming while John finds an acupuncture place in Yabbie Creek. Marilyn says she’ll book an appointment but Raffy says she’ll do it herself. Marilyn goes over to Irene who has just finished a phone conversation with her lawyer: If she’s found guilty of assault, Tommy will sue her for everything she’s got. Meanwhile, Justin joins Leah at the caravan park house: She is editing the other women’s stories. She then gets a call from Marilyn. They hurry to the Diner, where Justin waylays Raffy while Leah joins Irene and Marilyn in the kitchen. Leah tries to say Tommy can’t do this but Irene is more concerned that they could lose the Diner…
