Dean finds the perfect way to distract Ziggy from her Brody woes. With Robbo’s help, Jett reaches out for help. Robbo chases after Jasmine, but in doing so, is he pushing her too hard?

Extended Summary

At the surf club, Willow asks Robbo if she can take her break, since Jett’s cancelled his session, and Robbo agrees. Robbo runs into John, Marilyn and Jett and congratulates Jett on his progress. However, Jett morosely says that it was all for nothing. At the Diner, Irene overhears Jasmine arranging to do an extra shift and worries that she’s working too hard. Willow comes in and suggests Jasmine reply to Robbo’s texts, since he won’t stop sending them. Jasmine insists that it’s over and goes for a run.

Ziggy notes she’s reached a new low: Dean’s the one that’s hurt and she’s the one that ended up blubbering. Dean says he has to be nice to her because she’s the boss’ daughter and not bad for a chick, and is pleased to get a smile out of her. He asks where the painkillers are. Meanwhile, Jasmine is going for a run on the headland and encounters Robbo setting up for a class. She confirms she got his text but says she made her feelings clear. She carries on running.

Jett continues to be in a depressed mood about missing out on accommodation. John suggests a compromise where they find him a place nearby. Jett perks up and Marilyn takes John over to the juice bar to ask what he’s doing. John says that they have to pick their battles; Jett’s biggest problem is his mental health and he needs goals. Marilyn agrees. They go back to Jett who asks who won the argument; John says he did. Back at the farm house, Ziggy offers Dean a coffee but first smashes a mug and throws it away, saying Brody bought it for Maggie. She laments that he’s everywhere – she even works for his brother – and that her life seems to have stopped, with nothing to do except party or wallow with her parents. Dean suggests she needs a new distraction.

Jasmine continues her run along the road and then heads down to the beach. She stops near the Diner, seeming tired. Willow approaches her and asks if she’s okay. Although Willow is sceptical, Jasmine insists she is and jogs off in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, John and Jett arrive back at the gym and Jett is introduced to Robbo. Jett goes off into a corner to work on exercises. John tells Robbo about the explosion in Aghanistan and how some of Jett’s men didn’t make it. After John has gone to help Jett, Willow tells Robbo that Jasmine doesn’t seem to want anything to do with her either. However, she suggests Jasmine isn’t as over Robbo as she claims.

Dean asks Ziggy if she prefers extreme sports or relaxing; Ziggy is equivocal but does say she prefers being outside. Dean suggests quad bikes but a newly arrived Ben puts an end to the idea. Dean asks Ziggy what she used to do and she says surf or keep out of trouble. Ben recalls her stealing the neighbour’s car. Dean has an idea but won’t elaborate. Ben offers him a lift back to town. Much later, Dean is on the phone in Salt. Willow listens in as he assures the other person that he’s got everything sorted and will be there in the morning. She asks what’s going on but Dean won’t give her details, just saying it was a mate.

Robbo helps Jett put things away and says he spent time in Aghanistan with the federal police. Jett says it’s not really the same thing. Robbo suggests he might understand what Jett’s going through better than anyone but Jett says he doesn’t unless he’s responsible for someone’s death. Later, at the Diner, Jasmine chats to John, Marilyn and Jett about Jett’s progress. Irene gives Jasmine her coffee and she heads off to work. Irene comments to the others about her issues with Robbo. Jett asks John and Marilyn about Robbo. John explains his wife and children were killed as payback.

Next morning, Ziggy gives Ben breakfast: He thinks it’s scrambled eggs but she was aiming for omelette. She apologises for her recent behaviour and dragging him and Maggie into her mess. They hear a horn outside and find Dean with a clapped out car on a trailer. Ziggy wonders if he got lost on the way to the wrecker’s. Dean explains it’s the perfect distraction: He’s bought the car for her. The horn works and the rest can be replaced, with him offering to work on it with her. Ziggy is delighted and gives him a hug, causing him to wince in pain.

At the Diner, Jasmine asks Irene for a coffee, having just finished her shift. Willow comes in and anticipates Jasmine getting a text from Robbo but when she does get one it’s a friend from work. Jasmine dismisses Willow’s attempts to plead his case. Back at the farm, Ziggy is looking over the car and reeling off a long list of what needs replacing. She goes to check the exhaust. Ben compliments Dean on the idea. Ziggy calls out that the exhaust’s fine but the underside is completely rusted.

Jett arrives at the gym; Robbo says the trainer’s outside and he isn’t qualified but Jett just wants him to help with weights. He says he heard about Robbo’s family and is sorry he made assumptions, wondering how he coped with the guilt, since he’s got a report saying it wasn’t his fault but still doesn’t believe it. Robbo says Jett’s doing better than him, saying he only made it through because he had the support of someone that didn’t give up on him, and that even if Jett can’t talk to John and Marilyn he needs someone. Jett goes a little distance away and calls Wilson, saying he needs to talk.

Jasmine is jogging past when Robbo joins her, saying he thought he’d be harder to ignore this way and reminding her she didn’t take no for an answer when she made herself his running mate. They run down onto the beach with Jasmine trying to accelerate away from Robbo. She yells at him to leave her alone, then collapses. Robbo tries to rouse her.
