Extended Summary

Simone is helping Brody set up Salt. She comments that she’d like a sudden outbreak of flu so there’d be some casual teaching work available. Brody checks she doesn’t regret giving up the job at Summer Bay High. Justin interrupts them kissing to come and order breakfast, even though he’s volunteered to go shopping for baby furniture with Tori. Later, Justin suggests to Simone that a lot of teachers should get pregnant so she can be maternity cover and ponders the lack of schools in the area. Brody shoos him off to meet Tori. Simone realises that Justin doesn’t know about his plans to move. Brody insists it’s not because he’s having second thoughts.

Leah and Roo approach the Diner, bantering about coffee. They see Robbo standing over Jasmine and he explains she passed out. Jasmine is coming round and Leah suggests taking her inside. Robbo carries her in, shocking Irene. Leah goes to get some water but Jasmine pulls away from Robbo and sits down, telling him to go. Irene reinforces the suggestion in a more gentle manner and Robbo goes out.

Robbo runs into Tori outside the Diner and asks her to check on Jasmine, explaining she passed out and he’s not sure whether it’s exhaustion or stress. Tori invites him in with her but he says he’s not allowed and Jasmine seemed scared of him. Inside, Jasmine is insisting to Leah, Irene and Roo that she just pushed herself too hard without having any breakfast. Tori comes in and says she was just there for a juice but Robbo did ask her to check on her. Jasmine is annoyed that he’s still outside and, when Tori asks if there’s anything more to it, says it’s the situation she created. Tori apologises and leaves.

Tori returns to Robbo and tells him that Jasmine’s fine, suggesting he get off to work. Justin also appears and gets a brief precise of the situation. Leah comes out and offers Tori something for her cravings. Justin mentions that he’s helping Tori with shopping and Leah pointedly suggests he’s earning brownie points. Inside, Jasmine is lamenting her behaviour to Irene, saying she’s not usually one to snap at people. Irene thinks Tori understands. Jasmine says she’s used to people leaving but Irene thinks there are unresolved issues: Namely that she still loves Robbo.

Jasmine hesitates on the stairs up to the flat, while Robbo paces inside and on the balcony. Jasmine turns to go but Robbo appears at the top of the stairs and they lock eyes. Shortly after, Jasmine is pacing nervously in the flat, saying she doesn’t understand since she’s been there before. Robbo tries to approach her but she dodges him, eventually saying she can’t do this and walking out.

Brody is waiting for Simone with a towel as she comes up from the beach. He reiterates that he has no second thoughts, he’s just worried how his family will react. Simone offers to tell them together. Soon after, they are both at the house as Justin and Tori arrive back, arguing about Tori spending $1000 on a cot. Tori also wants a rocking chair, dragging Brody into the conversation as they discuss how Mason liked being rocked as a baby and how Brody tipped him out of a wheelbarrow once. They ask Brody to give the casting vote but he says he’ll be in the bad books with whoever he votes against so they can hate him equally: He’s leaving town.

Robbo joins Jasmine on the wharf, saying he just wants to check she’s okay. Jasmine asks how old his daughter was when she died and he says six. Jasmine says when she was six her mother died: The parents she’s mentioned are her foster parents. Her mother was killed in a car crash on the way to pick her up from school and she was left waiting, mad at her, until her dad turned up in tears. He tried for a year before bailing; again, she was at school and no-one came for her. She says her foster parents gave her a good life but she’s used to people leaving her, she just doesn’t know what to do when they come back. Robbo tries to take her hand but she pulls away, saying nothing’s changed.

Brody explains that he’s going to get a broker in to sell Salt. Justin suggests hiring a manager but Brody says he doesn’t want any ties to the place apart from them. Simone mentions that they’re thinking of buying another restaurant together. Tori asks if he thinks he’s rushing things but Brody says he’s never been surer. Tori and Justin both say they want him to be happy but look awkward as he hugs them. Brody jokingly offers to pay them to tell Mason and Raffy and thanks them for his support. After Brody and Simone have gone, Tori says it’s a disaster and Justin says they can’t let him do it.

At the Diner, Leah tells Roo that she’s hit the big time: She’s been given two tickets for a movie in Yabbie Creek to talk about it on her blog. She invites Roo but Roo says it’s a school night and suggests Leah take Justin. Leah is very reluctant, feeling it would confuse things. On the beach, Justin and Tori are talking with Brody, worried about his decision. Brody says there’ll be enough money from the sale to pay them back but they’re not thinking about that: He’s sacrificed his marriage for Simone and now his restaurant as well. Brody says they’re talking as if it’s not worth it and Tori points out it’s not long ago Ziggy was meant to be his one and only. Brody walks away angrily.
