Ziggy’s bad behaviour finally catches up with her. Can John and Marilyn derail Jett’s plans to move out? Willow grapples with the shocking news about Dean.
Extended Summary
Willow finds Colby on the beach, having just finished a surf. He is preoccupied with Bella doing the graffiti and comments that he’s made a lot of bad choices recently. Willow playfully mentions the kiss with Jasmine. Colby notes Robbo hasn’t brought it up and Willow suggests it’s the least of his problems. Colby mentions Dean stood him up. At that moment, Dean is recovering out in the bush. He gets to his feet, clearly in pain. The road is empty in both directions so he starts walking.
Ben and Maggie are having breakfast outside the farm house. They aren’t certain about both going into work and leaving Ziggy alone, especially since they still don’t know what she did the previous night. Ziggy comes out and helps herself to food. She realises they were talking about her and tells them she’s not hungover. Ben says there’s nothing more to say and Ziggy goes back inside. Later, Ben is driving when he finds Dean walking. He wants to take him to hospital but Dean refuses and tries to carry on walking. Ben convinces him to come back to his to get patched up after which he’ll take him home.
John, Marilyn and Jett arrive at the surf club; Jett is due a workout, saying he needs to be able to look after himself. Mason is surprised to see them and Jett confirms he’s early but Mason has time to start. After the pair have gone to the gym, John and Marilyn both express the opinion that Jett’s not ready to move out. John says he’ll talk to him about it during the session. Later, at the Diner, Irene notices Marilyn lost in thought. Marilyn tells her about Jett wanting to move out, saying he just seems to have decided overnight.
Maggie is getting ready to go out. Ziggy is sat on the sofa playing on her phone and, when Maggie asks her plans for the day, says this is pretty much it. Maggie says she was just asking and Ziggy retorts that she tends to accuse her. Maggie tells her to stop throwing it back in her face and pushing people away but Ziggy says this is what she’s like. The argument is interrupted by a horn sounding outside as Ben pulls up. They emerge to see him helping Dean out and ask who did it. Dean initially refuses help but, after nearly collapsing in pain, lets Ziggy give him a hand.
At the Diner, Marilyn has got an order wrong. She tells Irene that she’s going to call Wilson and tell him Jett isn’t ready. Irene isn’t sure it’s a good idea, knowing Jett will be upset. She serves Colby and Willow and asks about Bella. Colby says she’s upstairs studying and Irene offers any help. Willow tells Colby he’s doing a good job but Colby thinks everything’s been going wrong lately. He also comments on her and Dean and how he always thought they’d end up together. At the farm house, Ziggy asks Dean if it was the guys from last night and the two of them fill Ben and Maggie in. Maggie wants to call the police but Dean refuses. Ben tells Maggie it’s Dean’s call.
Jett is in his chair lifting up small weights under Mason’s direction while John observes from a distance. Jett tells Mason he wants to increase his schedule from three sessions a week to five. Mason doesn’t think it’s a good idea and Jett says he’ll do it on his own. John says Mason’s the expert but Jett says he knows his own body. Mason suggests having four sessions next week and seeing how he deals with it. At the Diner, Marilyn ends the phone call. She admits Irene might have been right; Wilson is going to broach the subject with Jett, who’ll be annoyed that she went behind his back.
Jett is now lying flat on his back lifting a weight with Mason’s help; Mason tells him not to bother about how many he can do. John takes the opportunity to tell Jett he can stay with them as long as he likes and shouldn’t move out. Jett struggles with the last lift and is annoyed when Mason lifts the weight off him. John says Mason’s just doing his job; Jett snaps at John to back off. Outside the farm house, Ben tells Maggie he’s uncertain about both of them going to work now. Maggie however thinks it might be good to leave Ziggy looking after Dean, since it might be the wake-up call she needs. Ziggy comes out to ask where the painkillers are and is fine with them both going.
Willow and Colby arrive at the surf club. Willow isn’t looking forward to work and Colby jokes about going hiking in the Himalayas, motor racing or deep sea diving instead. They notice Dean isn’t working and wonder if he slept in. Ben arrives and tells them the whole story: Dean stopping the guys hassling Ziggy and then getting jumped by them. At the farm house, Ziggy is patching Dean up. She gets a call from Willow and assures her that Dean’s all right. Colby asks to speak to Dean and asks him for names but Dean says they’ll be long gone and hangs up. Colby tells Willow Dean doesn’t want them there. Ziggy gets somewhat frantic as she tries to find what she needs, eventually going into the corridor to get a moment to herself.
John and Jett emerge from the gym. John offers Jett some juice but he decides he wants some fresh air, although he has trouble manoeuvring his way outside past other people’s bags. John and Ben chat about knowing when to step in and when to back off. In the gym, Mason gives a distracted Willow an update on what Jett’s done before leaving. Colby comes in and asks Willow how she is. Willow says that a short while ago she wouldn’t have hesitated to go to Dean if something like this happened.
Ziggy finishes patching up Dean. He insists that he’s okay but Ziggy tells him not to be nice to her since she doesn’t deserve it. Back at the surf club, Jett is on the phone. Marilyn arrives and John tells her the talk didn’t go well. John tells Jett Willow is taking over his session. Jett says it was Wilson on the phone: There’s no accommodation available for him. Marilyn is surprised Wilson didn’t check how he was. Jett says they’ve won, since he’s stuck there.
Ziggy is standing alone outside. Dean joins her and asks if she wants him to say it’s her fault, before jovially doing so. Ziggy tearily says that she didn’t mean anyone to get hurt. Dean says he doesn’t blame her. Ziggy says she’s sorry for dragging him into it and they hug.
