Extended Summary
Robbo is running back from a swim on the beach. Tori appears and comments on him being back. Robbo notes that rejoining the feds didn’t go to plan. Tori tells him that Ash is back and seems to have moved on and be his old self. Nearby, Colby is throwing stones on the wharf. Ebony is watching him from a distance, looking pleased with her handiwork. Robbo approaches Colby who explains the situation to him. He notes the photo came from the same source as the newspaper tip-off. Robbo thinks someone is out to get him. Ebony looks less than happy at this turn of events.
Ebony enters the Diner and approaches Dean, making small talk about seeing him with Willow and Colby. She mentions also seeing Colby with Robbo. Dean explains that he’s Colby’s flatmate and an ex-cop. Ash and Justin come in as Dean is paying for his drink with a handful of coins. Dean comments on having no job but Justin clearly isn’t in the mood to change that. Meanwhile, Tori is checking on Maggie; she notes she’s okay but Ben is more bothered by the lack of a donor. Tori says they want her to start chemotherapy again in two days. Maggie reflects on the fact that she’ll then feel ill again.
Willow is looking at her gambling app in Salt and learns that the horse she bet on came in 12th. Tori comes in and they discuss Justin and the fact he thinks Willow dumped him for Dean. Tori suggests she tell him the truth but Willow refuses and storms out, passing Ash. He and Tori compare notes and decide to have pizza together, since Justin will be joining them soon. Back at the farm house, Maggie is looking over her letters in her bedroom. Ben puts his head round the door to check on her. Maggie follows him through and offers to help him with lunch. Ben says she should rest and talks about holidaying in Tuscany. Maggie suggests he goes and gets a takeaway from the Italian in Yabbie Creek instead of cooking.
Robbo is continuing his attempt to get Colby to think about who’s behind things. Colby says he made his peace with Dean and doesn’t having anything to do with the other River Boys but Robbo thinks he still has enemies. However, his investigation is curtailed when Ebony turns up with beers. Colby introduces her and Robbo to each other. Later, after they have talked things over, Ebony suggests that Colby go to the papers. Robbo is against the idea, thinking he should follow McCarthy’s instructions. After Colby has gone for a refill, Ebony asks Robbo if it’s true he’s an ex-cop. Robbo asks why Colby should take advice from a barmaid.
Justin has joined Ash and Tori at Salt. He notes that it’s good to see the two of them together again but they turn the conversation round and ask him about Willow. Tori tries to get him to phone her and find out the real reason for the break-up but Justin refuses. Back at the Diner flat, Robbo gives up and decides to call it a night. Ebony decides to go as well, suggesting Jasmine might get the wrong idea. Colby says they’re not together anymore and Ebony says if she’d known she’d have brought more beers. She asks Colby if he’s going to make a stand.
Next morning, Colby is on the beach. Robbo is running nearby, Dean and Willow are walking and Alf is going fishing. Colby takes off his shirt to reveal his River Boy tattoos before going surfing. Alf and Robbo look exasperated, Dean and Willow more supportive. At the Morgan house, Ash goes into Justin’s room and pulls his covers off, noting that it’s a good job he’s not naked. He says he was in Justin’s shoes and he’s going to get him out of it.
Ben comes home to find Maggie packing. She says they’re going away for the night; she’s spoken to Tori and the girls and they all agree. Ben doesn’t seem sure but agrees. Maggie leads him to a beach villa, although Ben continues to seem unsure. Heading inside, they find a care package, including wine, cookies and champagne. Ben, getting in the mood more, suggests they try out the bed first and kisses her.
Alf asks Robbo what he plans to do now, making it clear Robbo doesn’t have to answer. Robbo says something quiet and private. Alf thinks that’s what Colby needs to learn. Colby meets up with Ebony and they go up to the flat. Ebony asks about Robbo. Colby doesn’t give many details but says he was with the feds and did internal affairs and undercover work. Ebony suggests Robbo was investigating him. Colby doesn’t entirely believe it, but admits Robbo only left them a couple of days ago. Ebony faux jokingly says he should trust no-one but her.
Ben and Maggie are eating and drinking outside. Ben uses an Italian phrase that he translates as “You were right and I was wrong.” They tell each other they love them and kiss. Outside the Morgan house, Ash is telling Justin he needs to let Willow go and move on. Tori is inside the house and overhears as Ash says it hurts him seeing her with someone else and you never really get over losing someone you love. Justin doesn’t seem convinced and says he’s going to take Buddy for a walk. Ash sees Tori and asks how much she heard. Tori walks over and kisses him.
