Extended Summary

After being caught snooping in the pier apartment, Ash defends himself to Tori, explaining that Robbo is dodgy, and he is trying to find proof. Tori doesn’t understand why Ash is so invested. Ash exclaims that the baby is his responsibility. Tori agrees that it will be, once it arrives. Later, the couple talk about their earlier argument. Tori asks Ash how far he is willing to go to protect his kid – would he break the law? Ash nods solemnly, if he has to. Tori accepts that he has to pursue this, but stresses that she won’t take any part in it. That evening, Ash breaks into Robbo’s car and does a search. He finds a gun and a wad of cash in the back seat. He calls Kat and leaves a message, asking to meet with her without Robbo.

Hunter asks Alf for some shifts at the bait shop, because he needs the money to save up for Olivia’s engagement ring. Olivia explains her dilemma to Irene, unsure what to do. Irene suggests that Olivia take some time out, but Olivia explains that a year out of the industry means certain death for her career. Olivia insists that she can keep things professional with Axel, but Irene isn’t so sure. Olivia decides not to tell Hunter about her infidelity, and Irene warns her that she is playing with fire. Olivia meets up with Axel to make her intentions clear – she is committed to Hunter, and wants to keep things professional. Axel is disappointed, he thought they had something between them, but doesn’t take it personally. As Olivia leaves and glances back at him, Axel’s hopeful she will change her mind.

Ryder makes a fuss over Roo once she returns home from the hospital. Quinn suggests that Ryder let Roo get some rest, but she insists that she doesn’t mind. Roo is hopeful that they will get to the bottom of Ryder’s sleeping difficulties. Quinn asks to speak to Roo privately and angrily tells her to back off – she is capable of taking care of her own son. Quinn and Roo re-enter the kitchen in time to hear Tori and Ryder discussing his night terrors. This only makes Quinn even more furious, she insists she doesn’t need anyone’s help. Tori reaches out to Quinn, gently inquiring about Ryder’s sleep problems and his history. Quinn recounts the long list of medical professionals she’s taken him to see. She’s tried everything and had to deal with it all by herself. Tori is understanding, but offers to get in touch with a colleague of hers, who is a specialist. But Quinn isn’t swayed by this peace offering to stay. She asks Ryder to start packing, and says they will be leaving the next day. Ryder and the others are all clearly disappointed. Roo expresses her sadness to Alf about Ryder leaving, worried his sleeping disorder will only get worse. Roo suggests that Ryder could live with them. It would give Quinn a much needed break, and provide Ryder with the stability that he needs. Alf is all for it, they just have to convince Quinn.
