Zannis kidnaps Ziggy. Hunter asks Wally for a second chance. Raffy’s true intelligence is uncovered.
Extended Summary
After spending the night at Irene’s, Brody is feeling more confident in his recovery. He confesses to Irene that he misses Salt and cooking to which Irene can’t help but pint out that a bar in no place for a recovering addict. After receiving a message from Ziggy, Brody tells Irene that he doesn’t think they should be around her right now as before rehab she became a bit of a clutch. Irene understanding this, tells him to tell her the truth so that one day they can be friends again pointing out that she is obviously fond of him. Brody meets up with Ziggy and explains to her she was his drug of choice for a while and that he needs to make sure that he just isn’t using her as a substitute and that he needs to take their friendship slowly. As Brody and Ziggy hang out they are seen by Ben who freaks out and tells Ziggy to go home now, going so far as to try to intimidate Brody. Needing to process the situation he turns to Irene to talk it over who reassures him that it will take time but that Ben will come around in time, that he needs to put his best foot forward. Brody goes to the Astoni’s to try to reason with Ben and sees Ziggy instead as Ben isn’t home. She tells him not to talk to her dad and that eventually he will come around even though Brody initially believes its wring he agrees to go along with it. He tells Irene this who can’t help but point out the flaws in this logic and how it will ruin things down the track for them. Ziggy runs into Ben and tells him that she agrees with the ultimatum he gave her as her dad leaves him Zannis drives by and he and a thug force Ziggy into his car and drive off.
Hunter and Olivia worry about Brody staying at Irene’s but are quickly set straight by her. Leah catches VJ coming out of the surf and asks VJ to check in on him worried about him after the whole Wally debacle. As they talk Hunter and Olivia meet up with them on the beach and Leah gets to check in with Hunter herself. While the three friends have breakfast, they are shocked to see Wally appear unannounced eager to talk to Hunter. Wally tells Hunter that Claire has come round and while it’s an ongoing process she was the one who told him to come see Hunter. Wally then offers Hunter money to make up for him not being there. Hunter though rejects this only wanting to get to know Wally and not his money. When he sees the check for fifty grand he sees is a bribe and correctly assumes that Clair is not okay with him confirmed when Wally says that he may not see him for a while and this was he know she will be looked after. Angry Hunter tells him that he can’t be bought off and storms out. Olivia is able to rightly reason with Hunter and make he see things from Wally’s perspective, understanding the stress and pain that he and Claire were caused by his affair with Charlotte and to not give up yet. Catching up with Wally before he leaves, Hunter asks for one last chance.
Ben delivers the development plans to Alf, eager for his opinion and approval. Ben shows the plans to Alf, Leah and Roo. However Alf is disappointed with his storage space being taken away. Roo and Leah however don’t to mind the plans with the main hold up being Alf. Frustrated at the development plans not being as positively received, Ben takes it out on Ziggy and Brody. At home he tells Ziggy that she is not allowed any contact with Brody from now on. While discussing the plans Leah and Irene are ready to accept the plans and Alf grudgingly agrees to go along with the plans.
Maggie and John with Roo are pushing Raffy academically with her tutoring. Roo, mistakenly gave Raffy the wrong test but seeing that she has actually attempted it wants to see how she went, believing that Raffy is a very bright student. As she suspected, Raffy performed exceedingly well which Roo tells Marilyn and John. The trio begin pondering how best to continue challenging Raffy, contemplating putting her up a grade.
