Extended Summary

Brody is back from rehab and seems to be a little overwhelmed at being home. At the hospital Justin is trying to reason with Mason who is staying firm that he doesn’t want anything to do with Brody. As Justin tries to reason with him he gets a call from Alf who has run unto Brody, revealing he is at the beach. The brothers embrace with a remarkable change noticeable in Brody. Wanting to see Mason, Justin tries to deter him saying that he isn’t in a good place. Caving, Justin brings Brody to the hospital to apologise to Mason who doesn’t accept his apology and tells him to never come back. Worried that this will trigger Brody, Justin tries to get him to stay positive telling him to focus on staying clean and that the accident wasn’t his fault. After his encounter with Ziggy while trying to clear his head, Brody reaches out to Justin and tells how much he is struggling being back and how uncertain he feels. Alf who can’t help but over hear the conversation and seeing Brody’s sincerity takes him to Irene who is a recovering alcoholic, there she is able to talk and help Brody find the motivation he needs and the conviction to continue fighting his addiction. Understanding that home can be a trigger, Irene offers to let Brody stay the night. Leaving Brody in a good place Justin heads over to the hospital to try to reason with Mason. Here he reveals that Brody saw their parents get shot and that whilst he tried to forget it he couldn’t. Justin tells Mason that he needs him to be strong for Brody like he was for them all those years and that he needs him to forgive him. Mason makes no promises but it’s a small step. The next morning while out for a surf Justin ruins into Ziggy and tells her that she needs to give Brody his space. Their conversation is overhead by Zannis who questions Ziggy about her relationship to Brody and watches her menacingly as she walks away.

At the garage, Ziggy’s first day is off to a rocky start with Ash. Bored with paper work, Ziggy tries to help out Ash with the car he’s working on but Ash is not having it. Having finished all the paper work, Ziggy again tries to work on an engine but is denied by Ash. Justin arrives and fills them both in on the Brody situation. As Ash was unable to fix the client’s car (who will not pay unless the car is fixed), he has said that the money will come out of Ziggy’s wage as she was the one who let the client set that term. He also before leaving tells her that if she touches the car she will be fired. Annoyed, Ziggy is left at the garage to lock up. Unable to resist Ziggy manages to fix the car and while taking it for a test drive sees Brody. After telling him that she missed him, she reveals that she knows what happened with Mason and offers to hang out. Brody firmly declines the offer and tells her to leave him alone.

Maggie is trying to handle the situation between Coco and Jennifer, calling parents in from both children to discuss their suspension and how best to handle their ongoing feud. As it turns out Jennifer’s father is none other than the Nick who previously asked Leah out. At home both Maggie and Ben try to understand where this behaviour is coming from but can’t seem to reason with an irrational Coco who thinks they are picking on her and not handling the proper issues. After Coco storms off Ben accuses Maggie of making the wrong choice as a mother and choosing to think as a principal instead. Maggie and Ben worry about Coco’s behaviour as they don’t think she would act this way unless baited. Hinting at a possible history of Coco being bullied, they worry that that’s what’s really going on. Ben finds Coco at the diner who reveals that Jennifer is bulling her and that the reason she didn’t say anything is because Maggie is the principal and that she doesn’t always want to run to them for help. Ben apologises for not noticing sooner and promise that they will support her and wants to make sure she knows they are there for her. At home she patches up with Maggie who offers her the new sports shoes she asked for as a peace offering. However after she leaves we see that something is still worrying Coco. At the family dinner that night, after Ziggy notices that Coco is eating more than usual, feeling embarrassed Coco excuses herself and heads to the bathroom where she throws up her dinner.
