7 Emmerdale Spoilers as Joe and Dawn’s wedding day ends in disaster
Next week on Emmerdale, Dawn and Joe’s wedding day descends into tragedy, leaving consequences that will change the lives of villagers forever.
1) Dawn plots her escape
As their wedding day finally arrives, Joe (Ned Porteous) appears to be looking forward to a happy new chapter with Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and their growing family.

ITV
His bride, however, is planning to jilt him and leave the village forever with her ex-husband Billy (Jay Kontzle), kids Clemmie (Mabel Addison), Lucas (Noah Ryan Aspinall), and Evan (Malachi McKenzie), and Joe’s unborn baby.
But just how much Joe actually knows remains unclear.

Dawn’s decision remains driven by her belief that Joe arranged the attack in the depot which left Billy in hospital.
Billy has since discovered that Joe wasn’t responsible, following Kev’s (Chris Coghill) confession, but has chosen not to tell Dawn and continues to hide his guilt.

ITV
As the wedding morning arrives, Graham (Andrew Scarborough) masks his unease behind a smile and promises Joe that nothing will go wrong.
Meanwhile, with Kim having returned from San Sebastián, Dawn begins to fear that her presence will make it impossible for her to slip away unnoticed.
Billy manages to calm her down, prompting Dawn to thank him for being someone she can trust, his guilt intensifying as he continues withholding the truth that could change everything.

ITV
Dawn feels even worse when Kim (Claire King) treats her with kindness, but remains determined to escape. She eventually forces herself to invoke the memory of her late dad Will (Dean Andrews) to get Kim out of the way, clearing the path for her departure.
“Dawn will be so devastated to leave Kim,” Olivia Bromley told EverySoap in an exclusive interview. “They’ve got such a bond and Kim has been really supportive of her.”
“To up and leave with no explanation—and to also take the children—on the wedding day, it’s so disrespectful and hurtful. They’re one big family and a very tight-knit unit.”
2) Dawn attacks Graham!
Whether Joe is secretly in the know or not, it’s the omnipresent suit, Graham, who once again catches Dawn as she plots to make her escape.
Suspecting something is amiss, Graham quizzes Lucas who inadvertently lets slip that Dawn and Billy are planning to leave.
Graham immediately heads to Home Farm, where history repeats itself as he finds Dawn outside the stables loading suitcases into her car, whilst making an incriminating phone call to Billy.

ITV
Graham can’t believe that Dawn is prepared to break Joe’s heart on their wedding day and challenges her reasons for leaving.
Hearing that Dawn believes Joe tried to kill Billy, Graham raises an important question—how could Billy have seen Joe attack him when he was struck from behind?
The question leaves Dawn unsettled, but Graham is unable to convince her to stay.
When he snatches her car keys in a desperate attempt to stop her, Dawn fights back by grabbing a nearby shovel and knocking him unconscious!

ITV
“Graham just pops up everywhere, doesn’t he?” Olivia stated as she spoke to EverySoap and other press. “It’s not the first time that she’s had Graham try and stop her escaping.”
“I would say Dawn is really full of grit and power in this storyline, and she’s very, very determined. Don’t underestimate a pregnant woman!”
Graham eventually comes round to discover that he’s been tightly bound, leaving him unable to escape or prevent Dawn from going through with her plan.
3) Billy resents Caleb’s game
Meanwhile, Caleb (Will Ash) is delighted that his plan to ruin Joe’s wedding day is finally coming together, but Billy isn’t quite so enthusiastic about the part he’s been manipulated into playing.
After convincing Billy that Joe was responsible for his attack, Caleb seized on the opportunity to help Billy and Dawn leave the country together.

ITV
Even when Ruby (Beth Cordingly) discovered that Kev was the real attacker—something Caleb had known from the start—the pair kept quiet rather than risk losing a chance to take everything away from Joe.
After Billy learned the truth and confronted Caleb and Ruby over their deception, he demanded that they hand over the family’s fake passports.
However, Caleb refused to release them until the wedding day, determined to ensure Joe would be jilted at the altar, whilst Ruby reminded Billy that they could tell Dawn the truth about the attack if he didn’t fall into line.

ITV
Knowing Dawn was desperate to leave that night, Billy subsequently phoned her to claim he was stuck in traffic near Oldham. When she threatened to leave without him, he warned that Joe would find them, persuading her to wait until the wedding.

ITV
On Monday, Caleb secretly hands Billy a wad of cash to help him finally begin his new life with Dawn and the children.
Caleb can barely contain his excitement as his revenge plan falls into place, but Billy’s resentment at being used to settle someone else’s score is all too obvious.

ITV
Will he be tempted to finally tell Dawn the truth?
4) Caleb lands a premature proclamation on Joe
Caleb struggles to contain his hatred for Joe as the wedding celebrations later get underway, threatening to reveal his revenge plan sooner than intended.
At The Woolpack, Joe raises a toast to ‘happy endings’, leaving Caleb simmering as he anticipates the humiliation waiting for the groom.
Ruby urges him to keep his feelings in check until the wedding, but Caleb’s contempt proves impossible to hide.

ITV
When Joe responds by withdrawing his uncle’s invitation, Caleb decides he can no longer wait to deliver the news he’s been saving. He tells an unsettled Joe that he’s finally evened the scores between them, leaving the groom to wonder what he’s talking about.
Caleb goes on to triumphantly reveal that Dawn has left with Billy, taking the children and Joe’s unborn baby with her.
Convinced that Joe will never see his family again, Caleb believes he’s finally taken everything that matters to his enemy.

ITV
“Joe’s never going to trust Caleb,” Ned Porteous told us in an exclusive interview. “He’s got no reason to believe anything that Caleb says to him. But he also knows that Caleb’s going to want to try and inflict as much damage to him as possible—so if revealing a painful truth is that way of doing it, Joe has to take that into account.”
“He doesn’t want to let Caleb know that he’s got to him,” Ned continues. “Joe can’t completely discard this information—if he does, and Caleb’s given him a pre-warning about something, he’s going to kick himself.”
But has Caleb jumped the gun in delivering his truth bomb, and put Dawn and Billy in danger?
5) Jimmy discovers Caleb and Ruby’s betrayal
Caleb may be busy waging war against Joe, but his scheming has also earned him another enemy in Jimmy (Nick Miles).
Jimmy has been desperately trying to hide the extent of his money problems from Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), with the B&B struggling, mortgage payments in arrears and the cost of their son’s university place looming.

ITV
He had pinned his hopes on a new Home James haulage contract improving their situation, only for the deal to collapse after a shipment was stolen.
Unbeknownst to Jimmy, Ruby arranged the robbery and employed Kev to carry it out, deliberately damaging the business so that she and Caleb could buy Jimmy’s share at a reduced price and become sole owners.
After agonising over whether selling would betray his family’s legacy, Jimmy eventually accepted their £150,000 offer and asked them to keep the deal secret from Nicola.

ITV
As the week came to a close, Jimmy saw Kev in the Woolpack and explained about the dire consequences of losing the contract. But it appeared Kev was about to drop his own bombshell, warning him that he might need a stronger drink for what he was about to tell him.

ITV
On Monday, Jimmy is devastated to discover that business partners Caleb and Ruby had been working against him all along, rather than trying to help.

ITV
When he confronts them over their betrayal, Caleb offers an additional payment on top of the agreed price in an attempt to buy his silence.
Ruby remains unfazed by Jimmy’s anger, but Caleb’s clearly beginning to feel guilty about the whole situation.

ITV
Later, Bob (Tony Audenshaw) finds Jimmy questioning where everything went wrong. He does his best to raise his friend’s spirits, but suspects that something even deeper is troubling him.
6) Horror unfolds at the wedding marquee
Whatever happens next, one thing is certain—Dawn and Joe’s wedding day is destined to end in tragedy.
Whether Dawn will be at the wedding marquee is currently unknown, though Olivia Bromley hints that if Dawn were to find out the truth about the attack on Billy, her plans could change considerably.

ITV
“She deeply loves this man,” Olivia told EverySoap and other press. “Regardless of what anyone else says, she wants to stick by him. But the one thing that she can’t stand by is the fact that Billy has been hurt by him, because she also cares so much for him.”
“But if it wasn’t Joe, well, she wouldn’t make that choice at all. She wouldn’t leave with his child. She wouldn’t run away with her children. She wouldn’t leave Kim. So, yes, it changes everything for her.”

ITV
We’re sworn to secrecy over exactly what unfolds, but can reveal that disaster later strikes at the venue, with devastating consequences.
On Thursday, Kim, Billy, Graham, Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), Liam (Jonny McPherson) and Kammy (Shebz Miah) are amongst the villagers rushing into the field and watching on in horror.

ITV
A short while later, Manpreet and Nicola are on the ground as the devastation unfolds in front of them, with the victims of the disaster seemingly beyond any of their help.

Are rumours of at least one upcoming demise in the village about to come to pass?
7) Thea’s sent in to investigate
DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) turns her attention to the aftermath of the wedding disaster in Friday’s episode, but there are signs that her investigation may be driven by more than professional duty.
Viewers recently discovered that Thea has a secret connection to Serena (Casey Al-Shaqsy), with the pair working together to uncover information about the Tates.

ITV
Thea has been urging Serena to find evidence against Kim in particular, making it clear that she’s been waiting years for an opportunity to take her down.
“Thea is Serena’s bestie from home, her best friend in the world,” Casey Al-Shaqsy told EverySoap and other press. “Serena’s journey to the village was to see her family, but when she mentioned it to her best mate, she’s gone ‘Huh, I need you to do me a favour…’”

ITV
What Serena wasn’t banking on, however, was Thea being the detective called in to investigate Dr Todd’s (Caroline Harker) death, something that Serena herself has provided a witness statement for to try and help Charity (Emma Atkins).
“She’s trying her best to keep the secret about what Thea wanted her to do,” Casey continues. “But now she’s working on a case that she’s involved in, it makes it very difficult for her. But it works out because Serena needs her help with that case anyway.”

ITV
Next week, as Thea takes on her second case in the village and surveys the devastation at the marquee, a flash of resentment suggests that this investigation may have a distinctly personal edge.

ITV
Meanwhile, an emotional Gabby (Rosie Bentham) loiters nearby, watching the scene from a distance. But why is she feeling guilty about what’s happened?
