Home and Away Spoilers – Who is Summer Bay’s hunky new bad boy?

Next week on Home and Away in the UK, Sonny is tempted by a dangerous shortcut as his recovery frustrations continue to build.

After months of uncertainty following the train crash, Sonny (Ryan Bown) has recently been able to start using his legs again—but his determination to speed up the next stage of his recovery has quickly become a concern.

Since getting back into the gym, Sonny’s refused to accept the slower pace set by his physio, forcing John (Shane Withington) to call on gym owner Tane (Ethan Browne) for help.

Though still on leave from the gym whilst recovering from surgery, Tane agreed to draw up a proper workout plan—but made it clear that rest and recovery would need to be part of it. Sonny initially accepted the conditions, but soon began pushing beyond them again.

His obsession went too far when he broke into the gym for an unauthorised workout, briefly leaving him caught up in the investigation into the recent surf club robbery.

Sonny insisted he had nothing to do with the theft, while Remi (Adam Rowland) stepped in to defend his best friend, arguing that Sonny wasn’t a thief—he was simply taking his rehab much too far.

David (Jeremy Lindsay Taylor) eventually agreed to let Sonny go, but warned Remi that there’d be no discretion next time if Sonny continued in the same way.

With Tane now aware of what happened, Sonny’s soon forced to answer for himself when he returns to Summer Bay Fit.

Sonny tries to play the break-in down as an “early morning visit”, but Tane isn’t amused. Although Sonny’s cleared things with John and paid to replace the lock, Tane points out that any injury Sonny suffers while training there becomes his responsibility.

Sonny apologises and asks whether he’ll need to find another gym. Tane agrees to let him stay, but only under strict conditions—he can train for one hour a day and must be supervised by Tane or a trainer.

Sonny accepts the deal, but struggles with it almost immediately. When Tane later cuts his session short after seeing him push too hard again, Sonny protests that he hasn’t even had the full hour.

Tane refuses to back down, warning Sonny that he’ll have to go elsewhere if he won’t follow the rules.

The restriction only leaves Sonny more frustrated. He’s still stuck using a crutch, and with Tane cutting his sessions short, he can’t see how he’s meant to get rid of it any faster. Nearby, another gym-goer listens in.

As Sonny leaves, the man, Beau (Blake Richardson), approaches him. He praises Sonny’s workout, making it clear that he thinks Tane was harsh to cut him short.

Sonny accepts that Tane owns the gym and sets the rules, but Beau points out that it’s still Sonny’s body.

Describing himself as a performance enthusiast, Beau suggests that there may be a way for Sonny to speed things up without constantly pushing himself in the gym. What he needs, Beau claims, is the right “supplement”.

Sonny initially thinks Beau means vitamins, but soon realises he’s talking about something much stronger. Sonny’s immediately uneasy, but reluctantly takes Beau’s number.

Later, Dana (Ally Harris) tries to give Sonny something else to focus on. Finding him free after his shortened workout, she playfully suggests kidnapping him for a date, and Sonny goes along with it.

Before they head out, Remi drops by the apartment and immediately checks whether Sonny is planning to go back to the gym.

Sonny admits that Tane has restricted his training time, but becomes defensive when Remi suggests that some limits might be a good thing.

When Dana walks in and asks what they’re talking about, Sonny quickly covers, pretending Remi was only offering advice on the best picnic spot in the bay.

Dana and Sonny head to the wharf, and for a while the date gives Sonny the break he needs. Dana suggests they continue the evening at a new wine bar in Yabbie Creek, but Sonny becomes frustrated when she checks whether he feels up to it.

Tired of everyone questioning what he can manage, Sonny insists that he wants them to make a proper night of it.

But as they get ready to leave, Sonny stumbles while getting to his feet and has to steady himself. Dana suggests they head home so he can recharge before deciding what to do next.

Back at the apartment, Sonny admits he just needs a power nap before they head back out, but Dana changes the plan, claiming she’s tired too and suggesting they stay in with pizza instead.

Sonny realises what she’s doing and apologises for ruining the night, but Dana assures him that being with him is all that matters.

Once Dana heads to Salt to pick up the food, Sonny is left alone with his frustration. With Beau’s words still on his mind, he takes out the number he was given and makes the call.

The next morning, Remi spots Sonny talking to someone through a car window, unaware that Sonny has just taken delivery of his new “supplements”.

Sonny covers by claiming the man is just a friend (ooh, fwend!), and Remi’s relieved when Sonny says he isn’t heading to the gym, but going out with Dana for breakfast.

Believing Sonny may finally be learning to pace himself, Remi tells him he’s glad.

Sonny returns to the apartment with a coffee for Dana, only for her to realise she’s running late for work and has to rain-check breakfast.

Dana reassures Sonny again that cancelling their night out wasn’t a big deal, before heading off for her shift.

Once she’s gone, Sonny is left alone and pulls out a small bottle of pills from his pocket.

After weeks of fighting against the pace of his recovery, Sonny makes his choice—and takes one.

Has Sonny just put his recovery at even greater risk?
