Home and Away returns to ITV… for one final rendition

Home and Away made a brief, and rather strange, return to ITV last night, as Take That singer Gary Barlow and comedian Peter Kay performed a rendition of the show’ss famous theme tune. ITV was Home and Away’ss UK home from 1989 until 2000, when the show moved to rival station Channel 5.

The pair were performing in Gary Barlow’ss musical spectacular ‘sGary Barlow and Friends’s at the Manchester O2 Apollo, part of a series of special solo gigs the singer has been hosting across the UK.

Barlow has been joined by a range of special guests across his UK tour, including James Cordon and Nichole Scherzinger. Comedian Kay joined Barlow at gigs in Sheffield and Manchester, where the pair performed a medley of classic TV themes, including the show’ss iconic theme.

The show was recorded at the O2 Apollo on 6th December 2012, and broadcast on ITV on 1st January 2013, as part of ITV’ss series of musical specials.
