Former Home and Away star Christie Hayes will appear in the Australian premier production of Noir at Sydney's Pact Theatre in April.

Hayes played Kirsty Sutherland in the long-running Seven Network soap, earning a legion of fans before leaving the show in 2005 to pursue international endeavours.

Hayes started in modelling and commercials when she was seven and made her debut in local theatre at eight. She attended the McDonald's college of Performing Arts and was elected Australian Youth Ambassador at the tender age of sixteen. She was the face of the Pepsi Light Campaign in 2006 and has appeared in various short films.

With adultery, murder, unrequited love and alcoholic conspiracies, Noir is a dark comedy of desire, dreams and coincidental disappearances.

Written in the same mood as classic Hollywood productions such as Sunset Boulevard, Chinatown and Double Indemnity. Noir is a mix between a dark comedy and murder mystery. The strange, erotic, ambivalent, and cruel play focusses on sex and corruption with a twist in the end that you won't see coming.

The play focuses on Ray, an amatuer private eye looking into a murderous conspiracy surrounding an adulterous affair, and George, who is on the hunt for a man who is seducing his wife Ruth.

Meanwhile Alison, an adult chat-line operator, tells her shrink about a dream where she was shot in the woods by her father, Howard, whom the Reverand Lang happens to suspect of stealing $20 000 from Church accounts. But when Morris, Ruth's seducer, turns up as a waiter in a Chinese Restaurant, things take a sinister turn for the worse.

Noir is being presented by Meow Media, a new production company dedicated to production of enjoyable engaging theatre which is accessible to mass audiences. Founded by Gary Blun, Flyn Tracey & Dana-Lee Mierowsky, Meow is keen to make theatre a more accessible medium while working in a style of theatre which evokes the best of film genres.

Directed by Dana-Lee Mierowsky, Noir also stars Roanna Dempsey, Costa Ronin, Gary Brun, Wayne Tunks, Dave Poland, Stef Dawson, Alan Lao and Georgii Speakman with a striking 1940s film-set design by Wendy Morrison, lighting by Larry Kelly and music by Daniel Baker.
