Channel 7 is turning 50 soon! and on Sep 17th there will be a special on it. I think it's hosted by Sonia Kruger, or she will be co-hosting.

Anyway surely they will have to have heaps of H&A footage and interviews hopefully considering it's their landmark soap. post details about the special in here when they are released! :D

I don't think Home and Away will get great amount of attention in the speacil. They'll get a few minutes atleast or maybe less. They'll be focusing on past shows and personalities I'll imagine.

Aww damn! it's not about the shows :(

Channel Seven will celebrate television's 50th birthday on the

actual anniversary weekend, Sunday September 17, with a three hour

live black tie event at Star City Casino in Sydney.

TV TURNS 50: THE EVENTS THAT STOPPED A NATION will be hosted by

Australia's number one breakfast duo MELISSA DOYLE and DAVID KOCH

and will be broadcast around the country.

KOCHIE and MEL will be joined by special guest hosts including

Hollywood A-List stars WILL FERRELL and Oscar nominee JOHN C.

REILLY. The DADDO brothers will also be reunited with CAMERON flying

out from LA to join ANDREW and LOCHIE live on stage.

Other well known Australian identities taking part in the

spectacular event include BUD TINGWELL, LISA McCUNE, MALCOLM FRASER,

LINDY CHAMBERLAIN-CREIGHTON, STUART DIVER, ALAN BOND, DENISE

DRYSDALE, NIKKI WEBSTER, SUSIE O'NEILL, MOLLY MELDRUM, BABY JOHN

BURGESS, GLENN A BAKER, THE WIGGLES and AGRO just to name a few.

The evening will begin with all the glitz and glamour of the red

carpet, hosted by SONIA KRUGER, and will then continue with the

countdown of the top 20 TV moments from the past half-century as

voted by the Australian public.

While the 20 moments will be kept secret until the night, they cover

a broad spectrum of events – everything from natural disasters,

terrorist attacks, sporting triumphs, and moments that touched our

hearts. Every moment includes interviews with people who were there –

first hand accounts of events that changed our lives.

During the evening there will be a reunion of the original A Country

Practice cast plus live performances from GUY SEBASTIAN, THE

WHITLAMS, GANGGAJANG, ERIKA HEYNATZ, THE YOUNG DIVAS, CHRISTINE ANU

and a special tribute to Elvis Presley by DAVID CAMPBELL and HUMAN

NATURE. Also singing on the night are Channel Seven stars ANDREW

O'KEEFE, SIMON REEVE, MARK FURZE and TIM CAMPBELL.

For the very first time, the four judges from Dancing with the

Stars – TODD McKENNEY, PAUL MERCURIO, HELEN RICHEY and MARK WILSON –

will take to the floor. They will be supported by Chong Lim and his

full orchestra.

The finale is not to be missed either. More than 70 performers will

take to the stage including the Australian Youth Choir and Gold

Logie winner JOHN WOOD on lead vocals.

TV TURNS 50: THE EVENTS THAT STOPPED A NATION will be shown

exclusively on Seven on Sunday September 17.

Why the heck would Will Ferrel and John C Reilly be there...they aren't even Australian! Oh wait, I think they have a movie coming out, so this event coincides with their promotional visit. Yay for Tim and Mark Singing...oh and John Wood! Not to sure about Erika though...I pray she doesn't have a single coming out soon. I don't like Sonia Kruger...that is the day after my 21st party so should be in good spirits with that!

Thanks for posting. At least H&A are involved some how. Can't wait to see Mark and Tim sing. Maybe they'll do a duet? :P
