It would be a nice tie-in with Mile's story. I don't think Jai has reall worked out as a character even though his tie-in with Mile's tsunami experience was clever. I like Jai but they don't really explore him properly. Archie seemed like a chap they could something with.

I don't know about Ray but Paul definitely isn't gay.

I have no idea what series we have showing here in Ireland, but I'm currently watching an episode where and Irish patient is getting a concrete cast taken off with an angle grinder!! The joke seems to be that only an Irishman could be so stupid as to get his leg encased in concrete

^ I think that's part of why it seems to fishy! It reminds me of when Scott "died" and as viewers we were shocked because Kip wasn't supposed to be leaving etc. and then he rode back into town a day later, very much alive! Something else that has only added to the fishyness is some peoples' over zealous insistent that he is dead and gone for good. Fair enough, we saw him die and be buried, but there were certain people who were vehemently opposed to any discussions or speculation that he may be alive, that made me think that perhaps they doth protest too much

I don't think you'll find anyone with a different opinion. What people are in fact saying here is they understand why he acted the way he did, not that he was right or wrong in what he did.

Diner landlord is right, it is very true to real life. We had a case in Ireland of a 12 year old boy going missing and 3 days later his body was found. At that point his neighbour and friend, a 19 year old, confessed to killing him. The kid and he were good mates and were pretend wrestling and the older boy accidentally strangled him. He panicked, hid the body in a ditch and then actually helped the police in his search. After a few days the guilt got the better of him and he confessed everything. He served 3 years of a 5 year manslaughter sentence, was released last year and was advised by the police to change his identity and move away. His family have also had to move away. Lots of people hate him, not because he killed the kid, infact I think he gets more sympathy for that because of the unintentional nature of it, but because he said nothing and allowed the family suffer while the boy was missing, albeit for only a few days before he came clean.

Jade was the reason why I hated the Sutherlands and eventually had to stop watching during that era. I can't remember why though. I think she just had the same affect on me as Melody currently has, i.e. bores me silly. When you don't like a character then you don't care less what happens to them, so having to watch them on TV ends in boredom. I might look at old episodes now that I'm "older and wiser" and see if my opinion has changed at all.

I'm very excited to read on the official site that we are to get a new look BTTB. That must be a huge amount of work for all concerned, so fair play to you.

^ I don't believe it has consciously crossed his mind either, but it is precisely because he has these feelings for Martha that he is being so protective of her, and that is in some way a deceit because Martha isn't aware of that.

^ I'm worried they are going down the same road they have with Rachel, i.e. talking a really strong character and turning them into a whining irrational person that it's hard to like. It's such a shame when a character is totally rewritten and for the worse.
