I wonder if Colleen was brought in to replace Marilyn as a comedy relief character even though they were not near the same age. However they both were characters that brought in comedy and Marilyn was bit gossip and perhaps not as bad as Colleen or Celia. Eventually Irene kind of replaced both Ailsa and Pippa with Irene eventually becoming the owner of the Diner and becoming the voice of reason giving advice to her customers. Also acting as the central Foster mother as Natalie and Shelley had their own kids with a few Foster kids on side with Natalie looking after Justine and Peta and Jesse daughter and Shelley looked after Brodie and her and Rhys nephew Max and Irene even took over Pippa job as school secretary for while.

All police officer guest stars are always written hard nosed and ruthless except for McCarthy and Emerson. It’s a shame they did not stick around as they were fair but firm. Rose, once she was more hard, here she is as soft as marshmallow and then any other time I will you tell how I feel without thinking of other people feelings or circumstances. I always thought it would be better if Ailsa died in the mudslide as it would have given a bigger impact for her character and show and more dramatic death.

Hope one day they given Roo some more meaty storyline’s as they seemed to want keep her character clean as her father for some reason.

Pippa final episodes and lead up to her exit. Even though Pippa final episode was disappointing but guest at time it was made to look like she was coming but wasn’t.

It’s shame they did not put on 1989 season and beyond on 7 plus. As era I most want to see is 1996-1998 as I like to see Pippa remaining episodes and also always be interested in seeing Barbara Stewart in 1996 and coming back being evil. I bet Ailsa no longer thought Barbara was most normal Stewart sister after that . Poor Ailsa her family were not exactly normal and her in laws weren’t much better.

I recently rewatched Lois episodes and really enjoyed her character. She made a good villain I can understand why she didn’t stick around for long.
