Thanks for your kind comments, people, glad you all liked the end and, indeed, the beginning and the middle.As I've never seen an episode of The OC, I think we'll have to chalk that one up to another example of Jung's collective unconsciousness. Do I have a preferred character to write for?The short answer would be no, although my most recent completed fics do seem to have centred around the current younger characters.But characters can be prominent in one and then in the background or wholly absent in another.It's just a question of what inspires me or what I dislike in the show and want to change. As for revenge, I like to think of it more as a case of serving the story although it's probably true that there are certain characters that I'd be more likely to do certain things to than others.I like to think I know where the lines are and I know which ones I can cross.

Liked Belle's interaction with Angelo, Geoff and Martha.Hope she realises Angelo's right when he says they have their grief for their child in common. Nicole means well but she really needs to let Aden and Belle sort things out themselves instead of trying to push them back together.

My enjoyment of this fiction continues unabated.My thanks once again.

Wow!Belle's actually being mature! Liked that whole chapter, the interaction between them all was just great.(Liked Geoff whistling at Belle and Annie pointing out it's all right for him to do that.)

How unfortunate for Miss Charlotte to elope with Captain Harris in such a manner.I hope for a happy resolution to the situation.

^^At the risk of going off topic, as I alluded to on the Melody thread I'd quite like it if all three of them ended up being friends because I think there's a potential for a good dynamic in there.

Don't need fluff, that was absolutely perfect, the way she said her piece and made it clear she still needed him but it wasn't the time or the place.Looking forward to the next update.

I've always been pretty torn about the whole thing.I think Geoff could end up with either Nicole or Melody and they'd make a good couple because he's got chemistry with both of them.I don't mind which so long as they don't end up ruining any characters in the process.(Are you listening, writers?) Don't really see how they can be called a gender reversal Aden/Belle though:Belle's got more in common with Nicole than she has with Geoff and it's not as though she was living like a nun before she met Aden.

Ah.I trust that Captain Harris is a suitable suitor for Miss Charlotte and nothing untoward will take place. I look forward to future developments.

I'd live to be able to refute this but I'm having a hard time doing so.Aden and Nicole do clearly have good in them.(Although I'd defy anyone to say they watched Aden last year and thought "I'm sure he's a nice guy underneath it all"-and he's never really expressed any guilt over the way he treated people back then.)Melody I always found to be essentially pleasant and good-natured when she was first in it, but I agree, apart from coming to Geoff's defence when Annie was declaring all-out war on him for humiliating her as I mentioned earlier, it's hard to think of an example of her being kind to others. Although opportunities for her to do so have been few and far between, usually she's the one in need of help.I did, however, think she was remarkably forgiving of her mother, telling her she loved her and urging her to get help even though she'd just tried to kidnap her.

Seriously, much as it always gives me pleasure that people are reading, enjoying and commenting on something that I've written, it was mostly a case of looking at what had happened and was going to happen and realising that the next part of the story needed to be told instead of just being skipped over.It currently stands at eleven chapters and an epilogue, unless I think of something else before I get there.I've a feeling the next three chapters will all feel like the last one because that's what they were intended to be.Anyway, hopefully it won't be too long before the next update.

Hi, everyone!Welcome back, thanks for commenting, I now feel suitably loved.Glad no-one hated the break-up too much and hope people trust that I know where I'm going with this and won't brutalise Aden for no reason. And, in case there's anyone who hasn't noticed, I like being risky.Or rather I spend days not sleeping, being off my food, thinking "If I do that they'll all kill me!"And then do it anyway. I did espy that moustaches appear to be standard for the men of the era.And that a figure who resembles a pirate is apparently a relative of one Jonathan Silver.
