Charlie knocked on the door as she heard the muffled sounds of her daughters crying. “Rubes are you alright?” Charlie walked into the room to see Ruby lying in the foetal position on the top of the bed. “Hey, what’s wrong?” Charlie took a seat next to Ruby and lightly rubbed her back. Ruby wiped her face of her tears as she sat up. “Romeo and I broke up.” “What?” Charlie was surprised. She thought everything was going fine between the two. They always looked so happy together so she didn’t understand how this could have happened. “How did....who....” “I broke up with him,” Ruby sniffed back another tear. “I’m not sure I really wanted to but I felt I had too,” Ruby trailed off. “I...” Ruby shook her head as she leaned herself forward and rested her head against her mother’s chest. “So you’re not totally ready to come out yet then?” “Sorry,” April bowed her head down. She desperately wanted to but she had the fear of being judged for her choices in the forefront of her mind. “Coming out to my sister didn’t go that well so what’s everyone else going to think?” “Why do you care?” Violet questioned. “As long as you’re happy with who you are what does it matter what anyone else thinks?” “It just matters to me,” April answered. “Can you say you don’t care at all at what people in school say about you?” Violet shrugged lightly. “I don’t love it but it’s not going to stop me being who I am. I’m not going to date boys just to make some stupid homophobes happy,” April smiled lightly at Violet, admiring her strength. “And most people are fine with it. You know, they know I’m still Violet Green. I get teased more for having two colours as my name than the fact I’m gay.” She bit her lip as Ruby’s face came into her mind. She still couldn’t shake the feeling it was her she’d rather be kissing. She thought Violet was pretty and she seemed a lovely girl, but when she was in love with someone else, April knew Violet was going to have a hard time winning her over, but April knew she needed to try to get Ruby out of her mind. “Mmm, we can kiss.” April smiled before she leaned up and placed a soft kiss on Violet’s lips. Violet smiled into the kiss, letting it deepen before she placed her tongue into April’s mouth. April pulled back for a moment, before she kissed Violet once again, this time slipping her tongue into her mouth too. She didn’t exactly feel fireworks, but she liked it, and felt herself wanting to continue kissing her.

MUCHLY enjoyed that, most especially ….. “I still can’t understand it,” Bianca sighed. “It’s not the April I know.” “She’s still the same person,” Charlie said. “So she likes girls and not boys. She’s still the same April Scott that you’ve know all your life. She still likes everything else the same as she always did.” “But she’s not who I thought she was,” Bianca answered as she watched Ella picking up clumps of sand and throwing them down onto her mother. “She’s my sister and she’s not....she not gay,” Bianca shook her head, still in denial. “And maybe you wouldn’t be saying this if it was Ruby or Ella or Noah coming to you and telling you that they were gay.” Bianca said with a scrunched up face. “As long as my kids are happy and in love then that’s all that matters to me. It doesn’t matter if Noah comes to me in 16 years time and tells me he like boys or Ruby turns around and says you know what, mum, I think I like girls too,” Charlie said. “As long as they are happy, I will love and support them.” “Well maybe you are just a better person than me then.” “Yeah uncy Eath.” Ella jumped up from Charlie’s knee and started to run up the beach towards the diner. “Ella,” Charlie shouted after her daughter. “You need to get your clothes back on first, come here.” She still found him attractive, but she felt something wasn’t there anymore. Even if it had only been a couple of days since she found out about April and her feelings, there was already something that she didn’t feel anymore. “Romeo, these exams are important to me. I need to do well.” “I know that, but, you can easily take a little break,” Romeo tucked her hair behind her ear. “We could always go practice some biology,” Romeo raised his eyebrows as he gave her a cheeky grin. “Hmm.” Romeo leaned forward and placed a kiss on her lips. She hesitated for a moment before kissing him back, letting it deepen as Romeo stood up and pulled her to her feet, before lifting her into his arms, letting Ruby wrap her legs around his waist as the kiss continued to deepen. She needed to see if she still wanted to be him and thought this would let her know and so far it was working, this kiss wasn’t like other kisses they’d had. She no longer felt the feelings in her stomach; she didn’t want it to keep going. “I’m sorry Romeo,” Ruby sniffed back a tear. “I do love you but I...I need to try this. How I’m feeling....I need to see where it goes.” “Where what goes?” Romeo screwed his face up. “Do you have feelings for another guy?” “No.... no, no, I don’t like another guy,” Ruby took a deep breath. “I’m sorry, but we’re over and I think you should go.” Romeo exhaled lightly before he shook his head at Ruby and left the house, slamming the door shut as he left, resulting in Ruby giving a little jump in fright before she collapsed on the bed in tears.

That was sooooooooooooooooooo SUBLIME !!!!!! Jen, ADORE your work as always !!!!!, most especially ….. Ruby hates them -- she doesn’t even know them -- actually hates that they can get on with their lives. That Nicole and Angelo, and the blonde and her handsome gentlemen who climb into the back of a taxi, can all go on with their lives like nothing has happened, and to them, it hasn’t. Ruby’s walls are crumbling, cracking and burying her in rubble and the world continues to spin. She doesn’t want to be social, despises simply the idea of having to talk to anyone, but the thought of going back to the house, of weaving her way back to the empty bedroom and kitchen and living room, is just as bad. So Ruby steps inside, squeezes her way through the throngs of people and perches carefully on the edge of a stool at the end of the bar. But then he looks up, catches Ruby eye and she can see that flash of something (her age, Ruby realises after a second, she looks too young to be at a bar), before he is called over by another paying customer and his attention disappears. Ruby lets herself sit for a moment. To actually stop and take in her surroundings, and be part of something for the first time in a while, and be insignificant and unnoticed and not just The Girl With A Dead Mum. It’s oddly comforting, this level of anonymity, and maybe this is all she needs to get through. Deep down she knows she should stop, that she’s drunk and emotional and being taken advantage of, and knows that Charlie would be furious if she ever found out -- But she can’t, won’t, and that’s why it doesn’t matter. No one is around to care, so Ruby lets Brian slide a hand into her pants, touch her there and lets him kiss back the objection that threatens to spill over. It’s not until there’s a loud bang and suddenly Brian is no longer hard against her body that Ruby realises something has happened. Angelo is in front of her, face fuming, holding Brian by the scruff of his shirt, other hand bundled into a fist as he yells, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” “What is your problem?” Brian yells back. He swings sloppily at Angelo’s face, but he’s still slightly intoxicated himself so the movement is sluggish and Angelo just shoves him against the opposite wall. “You’re going to leave,” Angelo says sternly, his voice suddenly low and intense. “You’re going to turn around and walk out of here and if I ever see your face again I will not be held responsible for what happens.” He gives Brian one last rough shake before dropping the hold he had on his collar. Brian stands up on shaky legs, attempts to smooth out his clothes, before he glances back at Ruby, who is still frozen in place.

REALLY enjoyed that, most especially ….. .“Is April in?” Xavier shook his head.“Nah, she’s out campaigning.” Dexter raised an eyebrow.“She’s really serious about running for council?” “I think she’s just looking forward to the idea of bossing people about.”Xavier turned his attention back to Jenny.“Which is fine with us because we get to have fun on our own, don’t we?” Dexter wondered if he’d looked that ridiculous when he’d had his children.He suspected he had. “Sorry to take up your quality time but friend in crisis looking for a man-to-man chat here.” “I know Roo and I might have overreacted a bit but…you’ve got to admit, there is a bit of an age gap.But that’s all I’m going to say, I get that you’re both adults and if this is what you both want, I’m happy for you.” Leah smiled slightly.“Thanks, Sal.So what have I missed with you and Liam?” “Not much.We went out again the other night.Enjoyed each other’s company again, had a few more nice kisses.”Sally took a deep breath.“You and Dexter.Is it serious?” “Does it have to be?” “No, no.Just wondering.” “Sal, all my adult life I’ve either been in a serious relationship or I’ve been single:Vinnie, Jesse, Dan, Elijah, even Miles.Is it wrong for me just to want to enjoy myself for once?” Sally shook her head.“I felt the same way once.But, I think things can only stay ‘just fun’ for a very short time.I mean, you can mess around with someone, have some laughs, have great sex…” “It isn’t just about sex,”Leah rebutted,“I mean, that’s great too but he’s got a kind heart, he’s a good father, he gets on well with VJ.I wouldn’t do this if it was just physical.” Dexter winced slightly, as much at the description as anything else.“Look, Dad, I realise you’ve got an obligation to give me the concerned lectures but…” “Dex,”Sid interrupted,“I think you know that my main concern is that you’re happy.Even if that means you being in a scenario that I don’t necessarily think is best for you.So if being with Leah makes you happy, that’s good enough for me.” Dexter smiled.“You really are cute and cuddly deep down, aren’t you?”

I don’t know if April’s deliberately doing it, but this whole Violet thing reminds me of Gypsy trying to make Shelley jealous by kissing etc Desiree!!!! REALLY enjoyed that, most especially ….. “Have I missed curfew?” Charlie questioned. “You don’t have a curfew,” Brax screwed his face up. “I just didn’t expect you to be gone as long, that’s all.” “I was just catching up with Bianca,” Charlie answered as she began to undress herself to get ready for bed. “It’s not a problem, is it?” “No,” Brax shook his head as he watched his wife taking her bra off and laying it on the chair in the corner of the room before putting her singlet top on. “Oh,” Noah scratched the side of his head. “I get a baby brother?” Noah questioned as Charlie tucked him in. “If you want a baby brother you’ll definitely have to sleep in your own bed.” Charlie mumbled. “Huh?” Noah scrunched his face up, not quite understanding what his mother was saying. “I mean she’s nice and I enjoyed the kiss, but...” April pursed her lips together. “I eh....” April looked at Ruby and couldn’t quite decide what her eyes were trying to say. Of course she was still in love with her best friend, and she was pretty sure the moments happened and they weren’t just in her mind, but she had no idea how Ruby felt about it. “Would you be okay with it?” “Me?” Ruby tried to look confused as to why April would ask her this, but inside she wanted to scream no, of course she wouldn’t be okay with April seeing Violet. Not when April confessed to liking her and not when Ruby was having some sort of feelings back, but she was with Romeo and she was straight, as far as everyone was aware, and Ruby herself believed she was straight too. “It doesn’t have anything to do with me.” Ruby answered. “Just, you know, with what happened yesterday and with -” “What happened yesterday?” Ruby questioned. Of course she knew fine well what April was taking about but she still needed to work out what they meant herself first before she started playing with April’s feelings. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt her, especially because April had already confessed to liking her, she had to be 100% sure before she said anything back to her. “I don’t recall anything.” “Right, no, sorry,” April shook her head as she drank the last of her orange juice. “I’m going to go for a shower.” April picked up her phone before leaving the kitchen. Ruby watched as she walked away before hitting her hand against her head as she sighed in frustration, knowing she’d have to sort her feelings out quickly, because she may be about to lose to April to Violet.

I know it’s a risk, but I LOOOOOOVE that Ruby is brave enough to do this thing with Peter That was ACE, especially ….. ,“Or maybe he’s moved away.To the South Pole.” Casey glanced at him.“You didn’t have to come.” “Well, I kinda did.I mean, we’re a team.I’m just not looking forward to the reunion with your big and scary brother.” “Crazy as it may seem, I think I am.I mean, I haven’t seen Heath and Brax in so long.Maybe it’s about time we had a catch up.” “I’m just counting down the seconds until I get his fist in my face.” Casey turned round to face Dexter.“I promise that won’t happen, okay?” Dexter smiled at him fondly.“Ah, my big, strong hero.” “Don’t you know it.”Casey leaned in and kissed him, lightly at first but then letting the kiss deepen as they held each other. “Don’t let me stop you,”Heath remarked as he walked past them into the lounge room. Dexter and Casey sprang apart.“Heath,”Casey greeted his brother, then floundered as he realised he wasn’t sure what to say next,“How’ve you been?” “Not as good as you, little brother,”Heath responded as he sat down on the sofa and began draining a can of beer,“So let me guess.Doctor Walker told you I was here so you and your wife decided to come round and make sure I stayed in line.” “No…”Casey faltered, since that was a pretty accurate description of what had happened.“I just thought it’d be good to see you again.” Heath shrugged.“Lot’s changed.”He glanced at Dexter.“I know Case got his head messed with by Ruby but what happened to you?Last time I saw you, you were dating that April chick.” It was a conversation Dexter didn’t want to get into.“She died,”he replied, hoping Heath wasn’t tactless enough to request details. Heath shrugged.“Bummer.What about that hot older sister of hers?” Peter shook his head.“I don’t want to be stuck in an office all my life, I want some options.I want to get my HSC.” “Well, I’d offer to talk to your mum but she’s not gonna listen to me.I can ask Mrs.Palmer to have a word…” “I was wondering if you’d tutor me.” Ruby looked at him in shock.“Your mum’s not going to agree to that.” “We don’t have to tell her.” Ruby could feel alarm bells ringing in her head.“Peter, your HSC’s over a year away!I can’t tutor you in secret for that long!” “Well, Mum might change her mind.I just want to make sure I don’t fall behind in the meantime.”He looked at her pleadingly.“Please?” Ruby knew she should say no:The practicalities, not to mention Tracey’s hostility towards her, meant the idea was unworkable.And yet, somehow, with this odd blood tie they had, she felt responsible for Peter.So she found herself slowly nodding.“Okay.We’ll give it a try.”

Instead, the woman looked as defensive as him.“I was watching him from the water,”she insisted, And then the last thing Heath was expecting happened:He turned on her.“Where do you chicks get off?”he demanded angrily,“You think you can play with men’s lives.Bet you’ll go running to the poor sucker when you need help, won’t you?Who cares what it does to his life?” He stormed off towards the water, leaving Mink, for possibly the first time in her life, too stunned to respond.

Charlie sighed as she took the glass of wine from her friend. “Brax might have a 4 month old daughter,” Charlie said as she saw the look of shock forming on Bianca’s face. “Oh and she is currently living with us.” “What?” Bianca gasped. “When did this happen?” “Yesterday the mother dropped her off,” Charlie sighed. “Said Brax was the father and he could deal with her.” And seeing him with her, I don’t think he’s sorry at all. The way he treats her, like she’s his little princess and I think he wants her to be his.” Ruby stood and watched as April was chatting to Violet. As she saw April laugh at something Violet said, she couldn’t help but feel jealous that April was getting on so well with Violet. She felt herself wanting her to be the one to make April laugh and smile. She knew April liked her, so was April trying to make Ruby jealous? If she was, it was working perfectly. Yesterday I told my best friend and my sister. Bianca didn’t take it so well so I’m staying at Ruby’s place. I guess it would be a shock for her.” “My mum is still like that now,” Violet sighed. “I came out almost 2 years ago, when I was 16, and she refused to meet the two girlfriends I had since then,” Violet tucked hair behind her ear. “My dad and big brother are supportive though so I’m not all alone.” “Well you can have me there for you.” Violet gave April a smile. April laughed lightly. “We’ll be the talk of the whole school next,” April said. “The two lesbians hanging out together.” Violet gave a little laugh. “Well we could really give them something to talk about then.” Violet raised her eyebrows as she looked into April’s beautiful eyes. She leaned forward and put her hand onto April’s cheek and rubbed it gently, before leaning in and placing a soft kiss on her lips. April pulled back for a moment, before she smiled at Violet, and placed a kiss on her lips.

LOOOVED that, most especially ….. “I think in most people’s eyes I went from being the little kid to senior citizen as soon as I started working at the school.Kind of missed out on the inbetween stage.” .“No, I think this is another mission successfully accomplished.How’s Stephen?” “Well, I read his comic to him but he says I don’t do the voices as well as you.” “Ah, well, when he’s experienced the talents of a master…” “But he’s settled in bed now.” Dexter turned round to face her, leaning against the work surface in what he hoped was a sophisticated manner.“So…” Leah raised an eyebrow teasingly.“So..?” “So…are we going to do the same?” Leah took a few steps towards him and kissed him.He responded, both of them holding and caressing each other, as they headed towards the bedroom. then turned and grabbed Sally, planting a long, lingering kiss on her lips.“See you.” Sally watched him go, then headed back inside. Miles, in the kitchen, looked up as she entered.“What’s that smile on your face about?”he asked. “Shut up,”she retorted as she headed upstairs, still smiling.

Tracey is BEYOND annoying, but I LOOOVE Mink in this fic. Sooooo feisty !!!! VERY MUCHLY enjoyed that, most especially ….. Heath stopped and looked at him.“No, I had a bit of a break round lunchtime.Caught the bus down to the beach and had a surf for an hour or so.That okay?” “Yeah, yeah, that’s fine.I mean, you’ve obviously been hard at it the rest of the time.”Sid surveyed the cleared area, feeling somewhat impressed.“Heath, you surprise me.” There was a flash of annoyance in Heath’s eyes.“Yeah?How’s that?” Sid sensed he was on dangerous ground but he’d said too much to back off.“Well, I didn’t expect you to get all this done.” “What, because you just see me as a River Boy?Think I haven’t done a day’s work in my life?” Sid struggled to remain calm, despite his rising frustration.“Heath, I’m trying to pay you a compliment here.” “Yeah, that I’m not the useless layabout you thought I was.Thanks a bunch, Doctor Walker.”Heath threw down his rake and headed off down the drive. Mink slammed her pad down on the counter.“Well, that’s my break.” Indi shot her a disbelieving look.“Mink, you can see what this place is like.We’ve got three large groups in.At least wait until they’ve all ordered.” “Uh-uh, contracted hours,”Mink retorted,“You want me to work in my break, speak to my union.” Or the Music teacher.” “Mum,”Peter hissed warningly. Ruby did her best to ignore the comment.“I can arrange some special tuition if you want, there are plenty of tutors I can recommend…” “And how much would that cost?”Tracey asked. “Or I could arrange to have Peter transferred to another subject.” Tracey looked triumphant.“Oh, so that’s your game, is it?Get rid of him by giving him bad marks and sending him to another class?” “No, that’s not what I’m saying,”Ruby insisted,“I’m happy to have him in my class, I’m just worried about his future…” “So am I,”Tracey replied,“And I won’t have it jeopardised by your vendetta against our family.” “I don’t have anything against your family.Or Peter.I just think…” Tracey had already stood up.“I’ll be talking to your superior about this.Come on, Peter.” Peter gave Ruby an apologetic shrug and followed Tracey out. Ruby sank deeper into her chair.

LOOOOOOVED how this had a very REAL ending !!!!!!!! Enjoy that, most especially ….. “Well do you still like him?” Indi asked with a twinkle in here eye. “Yeah…I guess…I don’t know...” “How can you not know if you like him or not?” “Well it’s different this time, I mean I like him, but I’ve also got to think about Casey. Indi what should I do? I don’t want to hurt either of them.” Indi laughed “oh poor you, you have two guys in love with you, it’s only every girls dream” she teased. “If you’re not going to help me then shut up” Sasha retorted as she laughed and threw a pillow at Indi. “I just asked if you wanted to stay at my house for dinner tonight.” Xavier said, just as Sasha saw Casey coming into the diner with a bunch of his friends from school and looked directly over at Sasha. She turned a deep shade of red as she turned away to answer Xavier. “Um…tonight isn’t really a good night for me, I’ve got a lot of homework to do.” “But it’s the first week of the school holidays, how could you have homework to do now?” Xavier laughed. “I just do alright?” Sasha snapped. “Sorry,” Xavier said looking at her shocked. Sasha quickly glanced at Casey and then looked at Xavier and said, “look I’m sorry, I don’t know why I snapped, I just…I guess I’m not really in the mood for some reason today.” Sasha smiled and kissed him longer and more passionately. While she was kissing him she didn’t notice Xavier walking towards her along the beach until he was almost right on top of them. She pulled away from Casey and turned to see Xavier just staring at them as if his heart had been ripped out. “Xav…” Sasha began, but before she could finish Xavier was already running away from her. “Sasha! I really don’t want to hear or see your voice ever again and I mean it!” “Xav….” Xavier didn’t even answer he just closed the door in her face and Sasha stared blankly at the door. Knowing that in that at the same time that she had found love with Casey, she had lost one of the best friends in her life forever.

LOOOOOVED that, most especially ….. The vice tightens as Nicole shuffles around, Nicole’s not saying anything, but she’s looking at Ruby in a way that’s unnerving; it’s as if she’s trying to figure out what’s going on all on her own. Like she knows that if Ruby opens her mouth she’s going to break. It’ll be a million shattered pieces spread out in front of them and there isn’t a way to put them back together. Not when one piece is definitely missing. Ruby swallows, carefully places the mug back down on the table and then starts. She doesn’t look up, can’t meet Nicole’s face as she explains about Brax and the River Boys and how much danger Charlie had to have known she was in and that moment when she walked in and how she hasn’t really slept since -- she can’t anymore, not without seeing Charlie’s lifeless body, her pale face, and the instant her whole world crumbles keeps playing on loop like some sort of torture. Ruby swipes at the tears streaming down her cheeks with the back of her hand before she sees Nicole shift out of the corner of her blurry eyes. She reaches across the table, hands Ruby a tissue and allows her to gracelessly blow her nose, rub at her eyes and try to stop the tears. Finally she blinks up, takes a couple of steadying breaths and catches Nicole’s sombre expression. Nicole reaches out a hand, loops their fingers together and holds on tightly. She doesn’t say, “I’m sorry,” (Ruby finds that statement pretty redundant in her current circumstances), doesn’t say, “It’ll be okay,” just holds on, squeezes, reminding Ruby that she’s there. Ruby nods, not willing to really commit. She wasn’t meant to see anyone she knew -- that was the whole point of leaving -- to try and erase the memory of Summer Bay and growing up and all the parts that hurt.

What a FANTASTIC final chapter !!! Yeah, a SUPERB end to a GREAT fic !!!!!LOOOOOOOVED it, most especially ….. He was holding the red laced bra and panties high into the sky above his head as gravity starts to pull him down to the snowy ground below. The Bra and panties John had so happened to choose were made of some very strong and firm material, which so happened to be rather stretchy, Which allows it to grow very long in length before it even comes close to ripping. Given that fact as well as the swinging low Christmas lights that sway in the now dusky Christmas night’s air from the front of the house John’s fall soon comes to an abrupt stand still. I thought you’d make us stay home and study.” “Look you are 17,” Charlie exhaled. “You’re old enough to know yourself what could happen if you don’t study enough. As long as you do a good bit more today and tomorrow then you can go out tonight.” It’s not as if they fit Ella anymore. Such a AWESOME start !!!! ADORE it, especially ….. Casey isn’t coming with her, and Charlie isn’t - can’t, won’t ever again - and that’s when she feels it hit her again. Like it’s all real and new and raw, and Ruby can’t actually believe Charlie is (was) lying on the floor, crimson pooling onto the carpet, soaking through her police shirt. And it feels like she’s losing her all over again. Those jolting moments of remembering and she wishes she could stop for a little while -- because she is just so tired. Ruby has a pounding headache right behind her eyes and wants nothing more than to just turn over, fold in on herself and sleep, but she knows the signs. She hasn’t checked her levels since she started driving and she can’t remember the last time she ate anything so she knows it’s her levels dropping low. A part of her doesn’t care, considers letting herself just wither away into some sort of diabetic coma. Maybe that way she won’t have to deal with the constant gnawing at her stomach roughly proportionate to how much she misses Charlie. But her sense of self-preservation still exists, and it’s only a fleeting moment of wallowing in grief, before she hauls herself out of bed and into the kitchen. It’s not like she literally has anything to be afraid of, but it’s the first of many days without Charlie - and even thinking that makes Ruby want to crawl back into the far corner of the bedroom and cry - and she’s somehow going to have to make it through without anyone else to hold her hand. and Ruby can’t help but flick her eyes away. She can’t deal with the scrutiny, the inevitable questions if her face betrays her. “What’s happened?” Nicole asks. Ruby shakes her head. “Not here,” she manages to whisper, the grocery store starting to swim behind tears, but god, she is not going have a breakdown in front of a display for soup. She grits her teeth, looks skyward and heaves a deep breath. She can do this.

It always is, but,” Bianca pursed her lips together as she shook her head lightly. “We can’t be together.” “Why?” Heath questioned. “We both love each other and want to be together. Please just let yourself be happy. You’re allowed to be happy, Bianca.” “No,” Bianca shook her head. “Because if I was allowed to be happy then I’d still have Rocco.” “You make me think of Rocco too, but, I’m glad I have that. That the kids would be lucky to have Ruby as a parent. “Here, let me.” April stepped forward and wiped her hand over Ruby forehead, removing the flour. Ruby stared into April’s eyes; never quite noticing their true beauty until now. She’d always thought April was beautiful in a friendly way, but now, looking to her, she found herself thinking more of April. April gave her a smile, letting her hand linger on her forehead. “Eh,” Ruby cleared her throat as she pulled her head back and looked down to the pancake, giving the pan a little shake by the handle. “Could you get the twins a glass of milk?” Ruby spoke quietly and didn’t look up to April. “Sure.” April pursed her lips together as she opened the fridge and took the milk out before looking back to Ruby, who had gotten the twins’ cup out of the cupboard. “The yellow one is Ella’s and the green one is Noah’s.” Ruby said still not looking at April. She flipped the pancake over in the pan and exhaled lightly, not being able to stop thinking that maybe, just maybe, she did like April as more than just a friend.

The scene was slightly confusing, as normally it was Ella who would put up a fight to get dress and get into bed. “Underpants.” Noah answered. “Ah you need to wear underpants.” Charlie exhaled as she put Noah down on the bed and took them from Brax. “I like nappies.” Noah sighed. “Nappies aren’t for big boys,” Charlie shook her head. “C’mon you put these on for mummy, yeah?” Noah looked down to the underpants before looking back to his mother and sighed. “Okay.” Noah nodded as he put his legs into them and Charlie pulled them up before reaching for his pyjamas and put them onto him. Brax sighed. “I’ve been trying for the last 20 minutes at least to get them onto him. You come home and all of what, a minute later you’ve got him wearing them.” “Oh I -” Charlie was cut off by the sounds of Katie’s cries. It was then when Ruby noticed the moses basket sitting in the living room. Charlie exhaled as she saw Brax must have brought Ella’s moses basket in from the basement. “Um...since when have we had a baby here?” Ruby screwed her face up as Charlie gently rubbed the baby’s tummy hoping this would be enough to silence her. “Like she’s not our child and we shouldn’t be looking after a stranger’s baby.” Charlie replied. “Oh so you believe me now?” Brax answered. “Not accusing me of sleeping with every woman in the bay and more?” “That wasn’t that long after Rocco died. It was hard on everyone. I felt so guilty that my kids were fine, running around and Heath’s kid got taken from him.” “So the solution to make you feel better was to go have sex with someone else?” Charlie screwed her face up. “No...I don’t know,” Brax shook his head. “But I do remember a good few drunken nights out.” “Right, so you can’t even remember sleeping with her? This fic always has me in STITCHES !!!!! Soooooooooooooooooo funny and coooooooooooool, especially ….. Everyone can’t help but share a look of utter astonishment with one another as they glance at the computer screen, to see Miles cutting a huge chunk of turkey off his and sally’s massive looking Christmas turkey. As well as the turkey the table was laid with other varieties of different Christmassy foods. making it look like a huge Christmas feast fit for a king or queen. A dozen or so placed candles were it seemed to be their only source of light and were dotted round their huge cosy living room gently burning away. Some of the candles sat upon the table. Others stood behind upon a golden brass burning log fireplace; just above Sally’s head a daisy chain of Christmas cards could be seen dangling from the ceiling. From where everyone were sitting watching them back in Summer Bay via the webcam Miles and Sally seemed to be living in a some kind of wintry Santa’s Christmas wonderland. Miles:: “That is where you are wrong Xavier, I don’t know what is the matter with me, but ever since moving to Thailand I seem to have a bigger appetite, which is strange because I never used to be a big eater back while I was living in Australia.” This last statement by Miles makes almost everybody round the table choke on their Christmas punch and mulled wine. The only person who wasn’t in shock was Rocco who was happily bouncing his Christmas cracker up and down off the table. If anything he was the one who did most of the chasing, Charlie eventually giving in to what she really wanted. Ruby was walking home from Romeo’s place when she saw her sitting on the ground against the back wall of the surf club. It was raining pretty heavily and she was soaked through, Ruby figuring she must have been sitting there a while now. She thought about just leaving her, but she looked so upset and in need of someone to talk to. She walked over to her and stared silently down at her. “Don’t,” April sniffed back as she looked up to Ruby. “I eh...I don’t need to be yelled at again today.” Ruby pursed her lips together before sitting down next to her friend, the ledge that ran down from the roof keeping the ground reasonably dry. “What you doing sitting out here in the rain?” Ruby questioned. “I haven’t got anywhere else to go,” April spoke quietly. “I told Bianca I was gay and she threw me out.” “What?” Ruby was surprised at April’s revelation. “She said I couldn’t stay in her house if I was gay.” April said. “Look she is probably just a little shocked. Or a big bit shocked,” Ruby answered. “I know I didn’t expect that from you.” “Maybe,” April wiped the tears from her face. “But I don’t have anywhere to stay now,” April said. “Irene has those kids staying so she doesn’t have any room, my best friend hates me now....I just wish I had someone’s support.” Ruby exhaled lightly as she put her hand onto April’s shoulder, her t-shirt drenched from the rain. “I don’t hate you.
