Bree says her goodbyes. Is it time for Tane to lawyer up? Mackenzie double books.

Extended Summary

Mackenzie and Bree finish off a surf on the beach. Bree reflects on it being the last time she surfs the waters. Mackenzie reminds her she could come back for a visit and Bree says to indulge her having a moment. Levi turns up with some coffees and Mackenzie says they came back early to treat Bree to a farewell dinner at Salt. Bree readily agrees and Mackenzie asks if Levi has “that thing”, saying Bree will find out about it soon enough.

Tane tries to convince Harper she doesn’t have to do this. Harper reminds him he was the one that first suggested a custody battle. Tane asks if she wants Archie full-time. Harper replies that she wants an agreement in place rather than just playing it by ear. She says they obviously don’t trust each other so from now on everything will be spelt out in black and white.

Bree returns to the flat and finds a bundle with a card from Levi and Mackenzie on it telling her not to forget where she’s from. It includes a hat, a plant, some anzac biscuits and a cuddly koala. Looking at her case, she tells the koala they’re going on an adventure. At the surf club, Levi is standing by the closed board shop and leaves a phone message for Mali asking to talk about the design. He covers as Mackenzie arrives and wonders why he’s lurking, saying he was getting her some board wax. Remi arrives as they’re kissing and wonders if it’s a good time to talk business. Mackenzie heads upstairs with him, telling Levi to pay for the wax.

Harper tends to Archie in his pram. Tane tries to convince her they don’t need solicitors. Harper suggests that it might be a good thing to have it down in writing what they both can and can’t do, since they’ll need to decide things like what school he goes to and whether he can have sleepovers. Tane thinks she just wants a piece of paper to show Archie can meet with Kerrie and reminds her she didn’t want Archie meeting Jo. Harper insists she’s thinking of the bigger picture.

Dana arrives back at the flat and finds Bree still packing. Bree invites her to the farewell dinner but she’s working. Dana is relieved the care package is from Levi and Mackenzie rather than Remi. Bree admits that, although Remi knows she’s going, he doesn’t know it’s tomorrow, and she doesn’t want to tell him by text. She suggests wine and Dana reminds her she’s working. Bree changes it to snacks, but since she’s taking the biscuits to Belgium, she decides to go and get something. Dana suggests workshopping the conversation with Remi on the way.

At Salt, Mackenzie tells Levi and Remi she’s just spoken to the chef about something special for tonight. Remi assumes she means the gig. Mackenzie freezes up on realising that’s tonight and he’ll be there, saying they’ll have to reschedule. Levi helpfully says they have a 21st there tonight. Remi protests that he’s promoted it and Sonny’s gone to get Eddie. Mackenzie offers him Saturday but he says he’ll get a permit and have the gig outside, and she’s lost his business.

Outside, Remi calls Sonny to let him know about the change of plan. He runs into Bree and complains to her about Mackenzie cancelling and the absurdity of not wanting music at a 21st. Bree guesses that the real reason is because of her farewell dinner. Remi asks when she’s leaving and she admits that it’s tomorrow morning.

Mackenzie tries to make out that Remi is being unreasonable before admitting it’s her fault. Levi suggests she could have checked with Bree but Mackenzie thinks she’d have said it was fine even if it wasn’t. Levi accepts it was good to put her friend ahead of business. Tane comes in and initially ignores Mackenzie, who realises something is wrong.

Dana is on the phone to Sonny, discussing the change of plan. Harper turns up asking to talk, having left Archie with Marilyn, and says it feels like war with Tane now she’s told him she wants to make things official. Dana calmly asks her what she expected. Harper says she just wants everything down in writing. Dana wonders if she’s made it clear to Tane that she isn’t trying to take Archie away. She understands where Harper’s coming from after yesterday, but also agrees with Tane about Kerrie, and says if Harper’s going to go down this route, then she needs to accept Tane’s going to fight.

Remi asks Bree if she was going to tell him she was leaving. Bree says she wasn’t sure how to. Remi says she seems to have got over that and notes this seems to be goodbye. Bree stops him walking away and says there’s no reason they can’t both be at Salt and she’ll talk to Mack. Up on the Salt balcony, Tane has filled Mackenzie in on what’s happened. He acknowledges he was wrong to take Archie, and Mackenzie agrees. Tane thinks Harper is punishing him. Mackenzie says he needs to get a solicitor. Tane is hoping it won’t come to that but Mackenzie says he needs to be prepared.

Back inside, Mackenzie fills Levi in on Harper getting a solicitor. Bree finally arrives to get the food for herself and Dana before asking Mackenzie to uncancel Remi, realising it was because of her and saying she can deal with it. Mackenzie agrees. Down on the beach, Remi gets a text from Mackenzie asking to reinstate the gig. Dana comes along and Remi tells her the latest and also that he knows Bree is leaving tomorrow.

Dana returns to the flat and wonders if Bree would notice if she took her jacket. Bree is happy for her to, thinking she won’t need it. Dana tells her she’ll get to party some time. Bree says she’ll be fine with Remi being there tonight and admits she wants him to know their time together was important. Dana gets an alert that her lift’s there and gives Bree a hug goodbye in case she’s not back in time tomorrow, adding that she thinks she and Remi will end things on the right note.

Tane finds Harper with Archie’s pram by the beach. He says he doesn’t want it to go this way, but if she does then he’ll get a solicitor, so this is the last chance to change things. Harper says she and Archie are moving out, since they can’t keep living together if they’re communicating like that, and he can send any questions to her solicitor.

Remi turns up at the Diner flat, having got a text from Bree. He says he understands if she’s changed her mind about the gig. Instead, Bree says she’s been thinking about them. She kisses him and leads him to the bedroom.
