Levi hits rock bottom. Marilyn goes too far. Can Tane win back the girl?
Extended Summary
Cash is walking Eden to work near the surf club. They refer to each other as “husband” and “wife” and note it’s going to be a couple of months before it gets old. They see Tane and greet him but Tane only gives a brief response. Cash notes he’d better see what that was about and kisses Eden goodbye. Abigail comes along and comments on them still being in the honeymoon phase, noting it makes a difference from what’s going on at home, and on a scale of 0 to 10, Levi’s about -3.
At the hospital, Bree checks on Levi, who is nursing his hand in the office. He asks about the patient. Bree says he punched the patient in the face and the patient only has some bruising. Levi says he thought she was in danger. Bree says she was handling it by calling the police and by swooping in, he’s made things worse and undermined what she was trying to achieve.
At the surf club, Cash is amused that Tane is scared of a girl’s dad. Tane points out the dad is a police sergeant. Cash realises David did his check-in. Tane confirms he’s told Jo about his suspended sentence and she was fine with it but he’s convinced himself Jo could be better off without him and stuffed things up. Meanwhile, Levi emerges from the office and tells Bree and Jo he’s been called upstairs. Bree tells him not to make excuses. Jo obviously doesn’t want to talk to Levi, who apologises to her. Bree wishes him luck.
At the Diner, Marilyn is rushing around and apologises to Alf for not getting his tea yet. Alf says he’s mostly worried about her, since she hasn’t had a break yet. He threatens to phone Leah until Marilyn agrees to call someone else in to help. At Salt, Eden and Abigail discuss having to do the stock order with Mackenzie away. Eden regrets calling her. Nearby, Cash tries to convince Tane he can repair things with Jo. Tane still thinks David had some good points since Jo has been through a lot lately. Cash says Tane has supported her through it. Tane doesn’t want to throw David under the bus to explain what’s happened. Cash gets a call and says he’s on the way back but instead is told about an assault in the area.
Jo is filling out an incident report and admits to Bree that, despite hating what Levi did, she doesn’t like getting him into trouble. Levi reappears and says he’s been told to go home for the day, apologising to them both again. Cash appears and Levi greets him before realising he’s there for him. Cash arrests him for assault occasioning actual bodily harm. At the Diner, Marilyn tells Alf that no-one was available to come in but thinks that’s a good thing since she’d have had to get Leah to authorise another shift and doesn’t want to both her.
At the police station, Levi asks what happens now. Cash says he’ll be formally charged, but he’s co-operated, which will go well with the magistrate. He says he’ll get him to sign his statement then process him. Leaving the room, Cash calls Eden and tells her what happened. Back at the hospital, Bree tells Jo that it might not have got this far if the board had taken her proposal seriously. She says Levi will likely be stood down until the court hearing, and if he’s found guilty, he’ll have to face up to the medical board and it could mean the end of his career. She hopes they’ll be sympathetic and notes you don’t know what’s going on under the surface. Jo checks her phone, looking at her recent calls.
Tane is running a class by the beach. He tells them to do another thirty seconds while checking his phone and finding nothing. Meanwhile, Marilyn says goodbye to the only other staffmember on duty, who has TAFE. Alf protests that Marilyn has skipped lunch and needs a break. Marilyn says someone else will be in later and she’ll eat then. Alf says everyone needs rest so she suggests he goes home and gets some. Alf says if she’s not going to listen, he might as well.
Cash gets Levi to give his fingerprints and have his mug shots taken. Eden and Abigail arrive during it and are shocked at what they’re seeing. Afterwards, they get to talk to him, wondering what he was doing. Levi admits he’s had a lot on his mind with Mackenzie but doesn’t want to blame her. Cash says Levi will get a letter giving him the court date. Eden and Abigail take him home.
Marilyn looks at the calendar and sees Theo’s birthday circled. Jo comes in and calls out to her. Marilyn comes rushing over but isn’t really in the mood for conversation. Jo asks for a double shot and Marilyn admits she’s there until close. She asks if Jo has plans and she says maybe. At Salt, Cash and Tane discuss what happened with Levi. Cash thinks Mackenzie being away has played a part, which seems to confuse Tane slightly. Cash admits he hasn’t had a chance to talk to Eden. Tane gets a text from Jo and hurries away as Eden arrives. Eden thinks Mackenzie is the only person that can fix Levi. Despite Cash trying to stop her, Eden leaves Mackenzie a voicemail saying Levi has been arrested.
Tane and Jo meet up near the beach. Jo wonders what’s been going on lately. Tane says he got it into his head that he wasn’t good enough for her. Jo asks him if he wants this and he says he does. They kiss and Jo suggests taking it somewhere private. At the Diner, Marilyn gets a call from Leah saying someone has called in sick and says she’ll amend the rosters before she leaves. After ending the call, she suddenly collapses, lying unconscious.
Tane and Jo get to a motel room, where they kiss and head over to the bed. Tane checks that Jo’s sure about this. Jo’s only response is to kiss him again.
