Extended Summary

Marilyn is rushing around serving customers at the coffee cart while a long line of customers including Alf has formed at the cart itself. Marilyn tells Alf that one of the casuals has called in sick but refuses any offers of help. Alf announces to the waiting customers that the coffee cart is closing and they can all be served at the Diner. At the studio, Justin, Leah, Remi and Sonny admire the guitar that is now mounted on the wall. Leah and Justin suggest adding a plaque to it but are happy for Remi and Sonny to decide what to put on it.

At the hospital, Bree tells Levi that it was a complete waste of time. Admin have said there’s not enough money in the budget to provide personalied alarm systems. Levi is supportive but distracted. He tells her about Mackenzie having a miscarriage. He also says she’s gone to Queensland. Bree offers to have dinner together. Meanwhile, Tane joins Jo at Salt. She jokes about how long it took and he claims he had things to sort out at the gym. She says to text her next time while Tane continues to be evasive.

That evening, Bree and Levi are eating at the Diner. Marilyn serves them the wrong food and asks them to eat it because she’s snowed under. Bree suggests they should have gone to Salt but Levi isn’t keen to be around reminders of Mack, admitting she’s not talking to him and he doesn’t know if she’s coming back. Marilyn suggests Alf go somewhere else for dinner but he’s happy to wait.

Justin and Leah comment on how much food they’ve got. Sonny turns up to show them the plaque he’s had prepared: “In this house, music is never a waste of time. In memory of Theo Poulos”. Both are pleased. Justin wonders if Theo told him the story. Sonny says Leah did. Leah invites him to stay for dinner and Sonny eventually accepts.

Jo tells Tane she’s glad he was honest with her. Tane suggests it makes things too complicated but Jo says they’ve both got baggage. Tane asks her about visiting her mum’s grave and she says her head’s been better lately. Tane suddenly abruptly brings an end to things and leaves. Jo follows him outside, wondering what that was about. Tane can only make vague excuses and in the end Jo gives up and lets him go.

Remi and Sonny are putting the finishing touches to the memorial. Sonny notes that staying with Leah and Justin has made him late for Dana. He suggests Remi come home with him instead of sleeping there. Remi points out that Bree won’t be happy to see him there and also declines to book into a hotel. After Sonny’s gone, Remi looks up the gig schedule on his laptop. Meanwhile, Justin turns off all the lights before joining Leah in bed. Leah checks that they did the right thing giving the guitar to Remi and Sonny. Justin thinks they did. They cuddle up.

Next morning, Justin chats to Sonny at the coffee cart, asking him to keep him in the loop about the studio and indicating he may want to be involved in the future. Leah arrives and briefly chats to Sonny before giving Marilyn some refills from the Diner. She thanks her for looking after things. Alf comes up as Marilyn assures Leah that everything’s fine. Once Leah and Justin have gone, Alf asks Marilyn about the fact she went out while he was still fishing instead of sleeping in. Marilyn brushes it off.

At the hospital, Bree discovers Levi is in an office, leaving an angry voicemail for Mackenzie and talking loud enough for nearby staffmembers to hear. He threatens to fly down there and wants her to ring him or text to let him know when she’s coming back. Bree checks Levi is all right to work and he insists he is.

Sonny arrives at the studio and finds Remi listening to music on the laptop. Sonny presents him with their new business cards: Remi’s refers to him as the CEO whilst Sonny’s just calls him “Hype man”. Remi gives Sonny a list of gigs they should go to in order to sign people up. Sonny notes it’s a long list and he has plans with Dana for the weekend. Remi is happy to go on his own but Sonny changes his mind and agrees to go.

Levi joins Bree for a consult with a patient with suspected chest injuries. He’s one of the drivers in a road rage incident and has chest contusions from the seatbelt. The other driver, Lars, is sat is the next booth and complains about the other patient being seen first, saying the other man cut him off. Bree points out he drove him off the road. Lars says it was meant to be a fast lane. Levi snaps at him to be quiet while Bree convinces him to stay still long enough to be assessed.

Jo runs into Tane at the surf club. He admits he’s sending mixed messages and Jo says he’s being hot and cold and to just tell her if he’s not into her. When he doesn’t answer, she leaves. Meanwhile, Levi and Bree continue to check on the injured patient. Levi takes him away, angering Lars who wanted to talk to him. Bree convinces Levi to keep going with his patient before telling Lars his wound is superficial. Lars grabs her arm to stop her leaving and Bree snaps at him not to touch her. Lars isn’t very contrite but does back off.

Tane takes a seat at the surf club and gets out his phone. At the hospital, Jo runs into Levi in the lift on her way to work. She gets a call from Tane but doesn’t answer it. Tane leaves her a message, saying he owes her an explanation. Levi and Jo find Bree arguing with Lars, who wants to know where the other patient is. Bree says to call the police. Lars pushes her out of the way and Levi punches him to the ground. Bree asks what that was.
