Lacey gives David an inch. Eden’s got work to do. Abigail is determined to help her sister.

Extended Summary

Theo and Lacey are walking along the beach. Theo notes that he hoped their time away would make Lacey feel better. They briefly encounter John, who is still somewhat harassed. Lacey did enjoy the trip but is still disappointed at not getting answers. Theo thinks she might have to accept that they’ll never know the whole story.

At the police station, Cash checks over the file which shows no evidence of any other vehicle being involved. David agrees but, despite his scepticism about the hypnotherapy, after seeing Jo remember it, he believes her. They note the other driver must have seen the crash and left the scene. David declines Cash’s offer of help but says he’ll get him some shifts.

Cash arrives home and finds Eden waiting in his bed. He explains he didn’t let her know he was back because he didn’t want to spoil her afternoon. They soon have a passionate reunion. Meanwhile, Mali is waiting outside the farm house as Abigail pulls up, having dropped off Eden. She admits they didn’t manage to find a dress; Debra burst into tears every time Eden put one on and the only one Eden liked she couldn’t afford. Mali has a surf lesson and has to open up the shop.

Eden and Cash are enjoying the afterglow of their reunion. Eden evades questions about whether she found a dress before saying they have to see John. Cash is shocked and realises Mali was her source. At the surf club, John is stressing to Abigail about Eden not being there when she said she would be. Mali tries to calm him as John calls himself a consummate professional. Abigail says he only has one review, from Justin. Cash and Eden arrive, and John claims “Je ne regrette rien” means he knows what he’s doing. Abigail stops Eden to ask her about the dress but she says she can’t spend that much on a dress she’ll only wear once.

Leah chats to David at the Diner, telling him about Roo going to see Cohen. Theo and Lacey come in. Leah thanks Theo for agreeing to help out at the garage, while Theo enthuses about Remi’s record label. Lacey goes and sits with David and says she’s thought a lot about what he said and is ready to move forward without answers. Meanwhile, Abigail joins Mali on the beach after his lesson. She thinks it sucks that Eden can’t afford the dress she wants. Mali offers to chip in but Abigail says it would take $12,000.

At Salt, John tells Cash and Eden that, since they’re staying at the venue the previous night, they can fit in a rehearsal. He asks about vows. Cash says his are done and Eden admits she hasn’t started hers yet. David goes to see Lacey at the bar and comments on big news about the investigation. He mentions the hypnotherapy and Lacey pretends she knows what he’s talking about as he says David told him about Jo remembering more. Lacey returns to the Diner flat and tells Theo what she heard. She thinks that, since David didn’t tell her, Jo must have remembered that it was her fault after all and David’s protecting her.

At the surf club, Abigail is on the phone to a dressmaker: She can copy the dress from a picture and the price is reasonable but she hangs up when Abigail says they have two weeks. Abigail tells Mali that everyone’s said it’s not long enough. A passing John tells Abigail to make sure Eden gets her vows done. Abigail comments to Mali that he’d freak out if he knew she didn’t have a dress.

That evening, David meets Lacey at Salt for dinner. She asks when he was going to tell her about Jo getting her memory back and accuses them of keeping secrets. David says he wanted to look into it more. Lacey heads out onto the balcony and David follows. David says he’s still trying to get his head round it and didn’t want to get her hopes up. Lacey tells him to tell his daughter what’s going on before his colleagues and walks away.

Cash arrives home with Eden. She wonders about writing her vows and Cash reminds her she wrote a whole song about them. Eden angles to stay there tonight. Cash assumes it’s because the wedding dress is at hers. Meanwhile, Mali and Abigail drive up outside the farm house. Abigail feels she has let Eden down by not getting the dress. She suddenly realises she can sell the car to buy the dress. Mali reminds her Levi bought it for her. Abigail says she’ll get permission from him and Mali bags not being there for the conversation. Abigail caresses the car and apologises to it.

Eden brings Cash beer in bed and wonders if she should include something about that in her vows. Cash also reveals he and Tane have only one suit fitting to go since he sent the tailor the measurements weeks ago. Their attempts to get passionate again are interrupted by a knocking on the door. Cash manages to get dressed in record time and answers the door to David, who blasts him for interfering in his family again by telling Lacey about the hypnotherapy. Eden steps in, telling David to leave and sort out his own family. David tells Cash to keep his mouth shut.

At the Diner flat, Theo is on the phone to Lacey, worried she’ll be caught doing something. Cash turns up looking for Lacey and Theo is evasive about where she is. At the police station, Lacey searches David’s office and eventually finds the case file. Cash turns up; she got past the front desk staff by telling them she was David’s daughter. Cash demands she hands the file over to him or she can wait for David in a cell.
