Extended Summary

Sonny and Dana are relaxing on the beach. Sonny jokingly comments on it being the reason that he stayed in the Bay. They see Jo further down the beach and Sonny reminds Dana that she’s meant to be getting over Jo getting the job. Back at the Lyrik house, Mackenzie tells Levi that she needs to get to Salt because Justin is micro managing. Levi, Abigail and Cash discuss whether it’s a good thing or not that Jimmy hasn’t come back yet and hope that he and Eden are having a chat.

Jimmy tries to insist to Eden that they’re having the conversation. He asks her why she invtted him and Eden says she wanted to see if she could stomach having him there but she can’t. Jimmy says it’s been going on too many years. Eden refuses to talk further and storms out of the room. Meanwhile, Mackenzie arrives at Salt to an anxious Justin; Remi is still holed up doing the mix. Justin says he wants Kirby to have the event she deserves. Mackenzie suspects he wants to make it bigger and better than her last launch but is happy to help out.

Eden emerges from her room to find Jimmy still there. He comments that the door slam took him back. He says that he’s grateful she tried to find a way to tolerate him but has realised that he broke something between them when he left and he isn’t going to be able to fix it. He hopes she has a good wedding and life. Across the road, Levi and Abigail chat about Mali being away. Jimmy arrives and tells them and Cash what’s happened, telling them not to give Eden a hard time.

Bree approaches Jo at the surf club and reminds her who she is. Dana watches this from the doorway with Sonny and complains about Jo sucking up to doctors. They approach the pair and Dana appears friendly but also brings up her crying in the interview. Bree and Jo arrange to meet for coffee in an hour after Jo has been to the gym. Both Bree and Sonny indicate they’re not happy with the way Dana behaved.

Jimmy assures Levi and Abigail that he’ll still meet them for dinner; Levi notes Mackenzie will be there anyway. Abigail insists they’ll still hang out with him, and Jimmy says not to worry about him. After the pair have gone, Jimmy tells Cash he wishes he’d got to know him better and asks him to send him a photo of Eden in her wedding dress. Cash says he’ll get Levi to do it. As Jimmy is about to leave, Eden appears and calls out to him.

Sonny is trying to take Dana’s mind off things, arguing that the job would mean more work and less time with him. When Levi appears, Dana rushes after him, asking to have a chat and assuring him it’s not about the interview. Justin approaches Sonny, saying he needs help and is desperate. Upstairs, Dana asks Levi what she did wrong. Levi realises it is about the interview and says Jo was more qualified. Dana asks if she should have turned on the waterworks and told a sob story too. Bree and Jo appear and Dana says she’ll leave the more qualified people to it, asking Jo if she should leave her napkin in case she gets emotional. Jo drily notes that she was wondering if Dana had a problem with her.

Alone with Jimmy, Eden says she sometimes sees things in black and white. Jimmy calls it conviction but wonders if she ever gets tired of being angry with him. Eden says she doesn’t want to feel like this but doesn’t know how to forgive him. Jimmy says he should have fought harder to stay in her and Abby’s lives but thought time would heal. He asks her to accept something, producing a necklace that her great-grandfather gave her grandmother on her 18th. He explains that, as the firstborn girl, she was meant to get it on her 18th. Eden looks teary as Jimmy puts the necklace on her.

At the surf club, Justin tells Sonny they need to come back in the morning to set things up. Sonny isn’t too keen on this sounding like a job but agrees that he’s helped set up plenty of times and wants this to go well for Kirby. They pass Bree on the stairs. She approaches Dana, who is meditating, and tells her she was out of line with Jo, who got the job on merit. Dana sarcastically suggests she should cry at her next job interview. Bree tells her Jo’s done nothing wrong.

Up in Salt, Levi unsuccessfully tries to get Mackenzie to join him, Abigail and Jimmy. After dropping a few hints, Abigail tells Jimmy that Levi and Mackenzie are going to have a baby. Jimmy says whatever mistakes he’s made they don’t include them or Eden. He tells them about her coming back and says he’s made more progress than he has in years but isn’t expecting a wedding invite.

At the Diner, Leah is telling Justin about the dress she’s bought for the launch but needs to mention that it cost $2000 to get his attention. He explains that he hasn’t heard back from Remi about the album. Leah serves Jo and briefly chats to her. At a nearby table, Sonny encourages Dana to go over and apologise to her. Dana does so but Jo says she wants to eat in peace.

Next morning, Eden shows Bree into Remi’s room but he’s nowhere to be seen. Bree is confused, since he told her yesterday that he was on his way back. Eden says she’ll let her know if he turns up, since she’s helping Kirby get ready. Outside the surf club, Mackenzie sees Justin and Sonny setting up a red carpet. Bree approaches and tells them about Remi. Justin says he’s trying to reach him too and hasn’t heard from him in a couple of days. Sonny says Remi won’t let Kirby down.

Justin heads upstairs and tells Mackenzie the venue’s great. Mackenzie says the QR code isn’t working which was meant to let people download the album as they listened. Justin says they might have to scrap that, admitting he hasn’t heard from Remi and they don’t have a finished album.
