Dana avoids Sonny. Justin gives Leah a reality check. Can Kirby and Remi reconcile?
Extended Summary
Justin meets up with Sonny on the beach and asks how Theo is. Sonny says he’s following doctors’ orders but doesn’t know when he’ll return home. Remi and Bree walk nearby; Remi tells her that Kirby didn’t talk to him all night. Remi goes and chats briefly to Sonny about how he’s doing before telling Justin that the meeting’s cancelled and he should ask Kirby why.
Leah arrives at the Diner. Marilyn tries to ask her about Theo but Leah says she wouldn’t know. Marilyn tries to suggest she can still see him even though he’s moved upstairs. Leah insists he hasn’t moved and will be back home soon. Marilyn notes to Alf that she put her foot in it and Alf advises her not to mention “the war”.
Justin arrives at the Lyrik house and asks Kirby about Remi cancelling the meeting. Kirby tells him that Remi quit. Justin says they should have called him to mediate. He asks if Remi’s pulled his investment and Kirby realises she doesn’t know. At the surf club, Sonny comments on Remi’s lack of response to his ordeal. Remi protests it was all over when he got Eden’s message and he sent a text. Sonny tries to ask him about his fight with Kirby but Remi quickly changes the subject to ask him about Dana.
Bree arrives back at the flat and comments to Theo that she hoped the security guards would stick around so she could pretend she was a famous celebrity. Theo remembers that she’s back living there now. Bree checks the fridge and finds nothing so offers to get something from the Diner. Theo asks if he can stay there permanently. Bree says Leah and Justin want him back. Theo says he can find somewhere else but Bree says the room is his.
Justin interrupts Remi and Sonny’s game of pool and asks Remi if he’s pulled his investment. Remi says he wouldn’t do that and Justin says he didn’t think he’d quit as producer either. Remi suggests Kirby should get a new producer if she has a problem with his money. He walks off as Alf arrives and tells Justin about Leah biting Marilyn’s head off. Sonny suggests Justin deal with that and he’ll talk to Kirby.
Marilyn tries to apologise to Leah but Leah is more interested in the order she’s making up, realising Bree’s getting it for Theo. She brings it over to Bree and suggests Theo’s overstaying his welcome and might need a push. Bree says she’s not going to kick him out. Justin arrives as Bree says Theo’s asked to stay. Leah angrily says Bree shouldn’t have got involved and she’s Theo’s family, not her. Bree just walks away. Leah walks with Justin to the coffee cart. Justin thinks that Leah shouldn’t have had a go at Bree while Leah thinks Justin’s given up on Theo.
Bree arrives back at the flat and drily comments to Theo on his world famous breakfast order. She tells him that things got a bit tense with Leah. Theo apologises for her being in the middle. Justin turns up and apologises to Bree before asking Theo if this is really where he wants to live. Theo says it is and Justin says he’ll bring over whatever he wants.
Sonny turns up to see Kirby, telling her that she and Remi are as bad as each other and he’s the United Nations. He thinks she’s a clown for thinking Remi would pull his investment. Kirby says Remi’s never had to worry about money and Sonny wouldn’t understand. Sonny thinks Remi would and points out her only alternative is to find another producer.
Leah complains to Marilyn about Justin’s behaviour. Marilyn admits she’s scared of upsetting her. Leah thinks Marilyn’s on Justin’s side but Marilyn says she promised to support both of them and suggests they need to listen to each other’s points of view. Alf comes in and says he’s no counsellor but if you treat someone like the enemy, they act like they are. Shortly after, Leah finds Justin with bags outside the Diner. Justin says they’re Theo’s things and he’s not going to have this conversation with her.
Sonny has taken Kirby to Salt and offers to shout her lunch. Remi turns up, thinking Kirby called him there to talk. Sonny admits he sent a text from Kirby’s phone. He leaves them to talk, saying Kirby was daft to believe he would really shout lunch. Remi doesn’t think Kirby should believe he would pull his investment. Kirby says he dropped the information on her and ran. Remi says she’s usually the perfectionist who insists on getting everything right. Kirby reiterates that she doesn’t like spending his money. Later, Remi insists that the money isn’t a gift: He invested it because he believes in Kirby’s talent and believes it will make him richer. He says it’s up to her whether he comes back as producer.
At the Diner flat, Sonny comments on him and Theo living there now. Bree points out that Sonny hasn’t asked if he can live there. Sonny says he will cook, clean and do grocery shopping and Bree agrees. Justin arrives with Theo’s bag and says Leah knows. He confirms Theo still has a job at the garage, saying he didn’t train him up for nothing. After Justin has gone, the others get texts from Remi asking them to come round to celebrate. Theo has plans with Lacey, who is staying at a backpackers’. Sonny tells them things didn’t work out with Dana. Meanwhile, Leah is waiting when Justin comes home and asks if Lacey has moved in too. Justin says not as far as he knows. Leah still blames Lacey for everything. Justin says Theo made his own decisions and needs to take responsibility, and standing on his own two feet is a good start.
Bree and Sonny meet up with Kirby and Remi at the Lyrik house. Kirby says Remi has changed his mind about producing an album. Sonny takes the credit and Remi says Sonny is great with other people’s lives but not his own. He brings up Dana’s details on Sonny’s phone and encourages him to call her. Near the surf club, Dana and Harper are taking Archie for a walk. Dana claims her being at home all the time is being a devoted auntie, not to do with avoiding Sonny. They promptly see Sonny, who comes over and, after an awkward moment, introduces himself to Archie before asking Dana if they can talk. Dana says she’s busy and will be later too, grabbing the pram and hurrying away with Harper in tow.
Theo hears a knock at the door which turns out to be Leah. He lets her in and says no-one else is there now but Lacey will be there soon. Leah says they should be able to talk even if they’re living apart and invites him to have dinner with her and Justin. Theo agrees…if Lacey can come too. Leah looks uncomfortable.
