Levi has a change of heart. Eden’s ready to pop the question. Harper opens up to Dana.

Extended Summary

Tane is sitting in his room looking at his wedding suit. Harper and Dana are chatting in the living area. Harper is still a bit concerned about the lack of affection from Tane, noting she thought agreeing to stay away from Eliza might help. Dana thinks jitters are normal given the wedding’s the day after tomorrow. Tane comes through and they tell him John will be over soon for the wedding rehearsal; he had forgotten and hasn’t told Cash either. Dana tries to call Cash but doesn’t get an answer. Tane notes his car’s there so he’s probably over at Eden’s. Dana rushes off to find him.

Across the road, Eden is telling Cash that Tane is obviously committed to Harper and cares for her but Cash thinks she deserves better. Dana arrives and tells Cash about the wedding rehearsal. Eden asks if she should come too and Dana enthusiastically agrees.

Mackenzie notices Mali’s wedding invite on the fridge door, which has been amended to include Abby. She gets a phone call from someone and asks if they can finish their shift. Levi arrives as Mackenzie explains she has to get to work to cover someone who’s sick. Levi offers to drive her but she points out she’ll have to drive herself home. Levi wonders if they should talk more about starting a family but Mackenzie says if he hasn’t changed his mind then there’s nothing to discuss.

John has Tane, Harper, Cash and Dana set up like a wedding party with Eden looking on. John says after he pronounces them husband and wife, they kiss. Harper looks expectant but Tane just stands there and Dana nervously notes they’ll save that for the day. John checks Cash and Dana are okay to be witnesses and that Tane and Harper are fine with the vows he wrote them. He leaves, as do Cash and Eden. Tane heads to Salt to give Harper and Dana space as Dana presents Harper with a pendant which she says is her something blue.

Cash and Eden arrive back at the Lyrik house where Eden admits she’s seen funerals more upbeat than the rehearsal and now agrees they shouldn’t be getting married. However, Cash decides it’s their choice and he should work on the speech. At Salt, Mackenzie is surprised Tane is there on his own rather than having a bucks night. Tane says he’s not having one this time. He asks if she spoke to Levi about starting a family and Mackenzie says he’s not ready. They ponder what will happen if he’s never ready with Mackenzie saying you can’t force someone to feel something. Tane thoughtfully agrees.

Harper is in the bedroom, looking at the pendant in a mirror, Her gaze goes to the ultrasound photo, a photo of the Parata family and then the box of mementos of Tane and Felicity’s wedding. She takes out Tane’s wedding garb and then the wedding photo, noting how happy they both look. She puts it away when she hears Tane coming back. Harper says she’s excited. Tane says he is too and gives her a hug.

Next morning, Cash and Eden have just finished a swim. Eden feels Tane and Harper should call off the wedding if they’re not sure, saying she would and asking Cash if he’d do the same. Cash says it doesn’t apply to him since he’s always been sure. Eden awkwardly says she’s not talking about them but looks preoccupied as Cash walks away.

Tane wakes up and discovers Harper isn’t in the bed. He finds her in the living area and she confirms his guess that she was woken up by Archie’s kicking. She wonders if they should write their own vows. Tane thinks it’s a bit late. Harper wonders if he’s reminded of his first wedding and if he really wants it. Their conversation is interrupted when Cash comes home. Harper heads off, calling it secret bridesmaid’s business. Tane insists to Cash that he can’t wait to get married.

At the Diner, Marilyn is working nearby as Dana insists to John and Harper that everyone will cry at her speech. Harper asks John what he thinks not writing your own vows means. John says Leah and Justin, the only other wedding he’s done, wrote their own vows and are still going strong but every couple’s different. Irene comes over and John asks for another coffee. She first tells Harper she’s decided she is going to the wedding after all. Dana asks for a moment alone with Harper, then wonders why the news didn’t excite her.

Mackenzie is heading out to work. Levi tries to get her to talk to him but Mackenzie says if she wants a family and he doesn’t then they’re both going in different directions. Levi protests that he might be ready in the future. Eden turns up and gives Mackenzie an excuse to leave. Later, Levi has filled Eden in and notes he didn’t want a family with Imogen. Eden suggests he and Mackenzie make a good team but Levi says their parents probably did once and the break-up affected them. Eden admits she’s thinking about marriage with Cash again. They both conclude they’re too scared to do anything.

Levi drags Mackenzie out onto the Salt balcony and tells her he does want a family with her. He thinks he didn’t want it with Imogen because he knew deep down that things weren’t right, but he sees Mackenzie as his future. They hug and kiss. Meanwhile, Eden has summoned Cash over to hers. He says he’s changed his mind and doesn’t think Tane and Harper should get married. He decides he needs to talk to Tane. He remembers Eden invited him over there to talk but she says it can wait.

Harper has filled Dana in on the mementos box. She recalls Tane showed it to her before they were together. He’s never looked at her the way he was looking at Felicity in the photo and keeps it in their bedroom. Dana says Harper already knew he didn’t love her and said him making her feel safe was enough. She asks if it still is. John checks on them.

Back at the Parata house, Tane is sat in his room staring at the ultrasound photo. Cash appears and says he’ll make a great dad but wonders if he should be going through with the wedding. Tane hurriedly leaves, saying he has to meet John. Cash calls after him, saying he saw him when he was marrying Flick and he doesn’t look at Harper like that.

Harper stands in front of a mirror in the beach house, looking at herself in her wedding dress… and bursts into tears.
