Extended Summary

At Salt, Xander tells Rose that Kirby has talked Mali round. Rose is surprised that Xander is pleased with this. Xander says he thinks people should explore all options. Theo turns up looking for Perri, explaining they’re meant to be spending the day together. He asks Rose about the case tomorrow. Rose can’t give details but is hoping for a good outcome. Theo gets a text that leaves him frustrated.

At the coffee cart, Justin dismisses the call as suppliers when Leah asks about it. Theo turns up, annoyed that Justin has asked him to work today. Justin insists that he has to, forcing the keys on him. Theo protests that his plans were important. Justin insists his are too and it’s his garage and his rules. Theo is forced to give in.

Outside the surf club, Tane and Harper discuss getting ready for court tomorrow. They run into Perri, who is on his way to meet Theo. Tane checks he won’t be home until the afternoon. After he’s gone, Tane notes it’s good Perri’s settling in and this gives them time to sort out his surprise. Harper mentions she has the scan rescheduled for next week.

Up in Salt, Xander finishes his shift but pauses to look around the place until Rose queries it and he moves on. Perri comes up and Rose apologises for not being able to pin the note on Carl. Perri asks about Theo and Rose explains about him being called into work and being disappointed. Perri finds he has missed calls from him.

Leah tells Justin he wasn’t fair on Theo, who’d been looking forward to the day off. Justin tries to pass it off as a supplier getting things wrong. Marilyn turns up and Justin says Leah would call her in if she needed help. Marilyn agrees. Leah tries to argue that she wouldn’t ask Marilyn to drop everything last minute. Marilyn says she’d still come in but doesn’t want to get dragged into it. Justin quickly leaves.

Outside the surf club, Tane tries to get Harper to drop a boot camp while she’s pregnant. Harper says the doctor gave her the all-clear and Tane has trained pregnant clients before. Tane says they weren’t pregnant with his child and Harper agrees to drop one. They come across Xander staring up at Salt. Xander asks Tane if he always wanted to own a gym. Tane says he never thought about it until it landed in his lap but now he couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

At the hospital, Bree asks Dana for an update on the patients. Dana says nothing has changed since an hour ago, but when Bree presses, she reels off the list of bed statuses. Bree asks if she’s checked the trolley and Dana says they always do that first thing. Bree tries to get her to do it again. Dana points out the tag lock’s still in place so nothing’s changed. Later, Dana finds Bree checking it anyway. Bree confirms everything’s in order. Dana says a patient has been moved to a ward. Bree says to tell triage and Dana says she’s on her way. Despite her earlier comment, Bree starts checking the trolley again.

Tane is installing a television in Perri’s room. Harper notes she’ll get him to make some baby furniture. Perri turns up and is pleased by the TV but explains about Theo cancelling on him. Tane suggests he has food or a swim with him but Perri says he wants to chill on his own. Harper suggests he try out the new TV. Left alone, Perri looks apprehensively at his suit hanging up.

At the Diner, Leah tells Marilyn she thinks something’s up with Justin and wonders if Theo is right about him blaming him for the accident. Xander comes in and asks Leah about running her own business. Marilyn says Leah gets to work with her. Leah agrees she enjoys the social side and being her own boss. Xander tries to ask her about budgeting but Rose, who has been sat at a table throughout, reminds him he asked her to have dinner with him. Xander joins her and explains that, since he failed to buy into Salt, he’s been thinking about owning his own business, explaining about the money he has and looking into online business courses. Rose is surprised but agrees he should do it if it’s what he wants.

Tane worries about Perri being on his own. Moments later, Perri emerges from his room and tells Tane and Harper he’s not going to court tomorrow, stressing it’s his decision. Tane and Harper both try and talk him out of it but Perri asks who he has to tell. Later, Tane is walking with Perri near the beach. Perri recalls how he used to see Carl drive up with an angry look on his face, knowing he’d suffer as a result. Tane says if things go their way, he’ll never have to see Carl again, and offers to get Rose to talk to him.

Bree and Dana are looking after Adam, a workman with a cut head. He just wants them to sign him off to return to work, but when he gets up he feels faint. Dana helps him sit back down and asks Bree if she wants to order a CT scan. Bree however is fixated on a blood stain on her sleeve and walks away. Later, Dana finds Bree obsessively scrubbing at the stain. She tells her to just get a fresh set of scrubs and that the patient has been cleaned up and sent to CT. Bree thanks her in a distracted manner. Later still, Dana visits Bree in her office, saying it’s not on to walk away from a patient or to ask for constant updates and check the trolley when it’s not her job. Bree says Dana’s shift is over, asking why she’s still there.

Justin is helping Leah close up the Diner and apologises for snapping. He says he finally got things sorted with the supplier and denies doing it to punish Theo for his mistake, saying he’ll talk to him and work it out. At Salt, Tane, Harper and Perri have met with Rose, who tells Perri he can take a break whenever he wants but has to be in the same room as Carl. She says she’ll see them tomorrow. Perri abruptly says he has something to do at the gym. Harper suggests she go after him but Tane says he will. Harper says a brief farewell to Dana, who is sat with Xander. He is telling her about the courses but realises she isn’t listening. Dana asks if Bree is okay at home before promising to listen as he shows her a list.

Tane tracks Perri down at the gym, where he is scrubbing a bench. He says the talk with Rose helped but he still feels sick about it. Tane straps some gloves on him, suggesting he take it out on a bag. Perri first starts to punch tentatively, then starts hitting wildly. Next morning, Tane, Perri and Rose have met outside the surf club. Perri gets a good luck text from Theo. Tane wonders why Harper’s late; she isn’t responding to his calls and texts. Tane suggests Perri goes with Rose, who agrees it’ll give him more time with the prosecution team. Tane says they’ll be right behind him.

Dana finds Bree still at work, having done a double shift. She suggests she go home for her sake and the patients’. Bree is unimpressed at a nurse telling her what to do and walks away. Moments later, Harper arrives and tells Dana she’s bleeding.
