Kirby issues a warning to Theo. Bree falls apart.

Extended Summary

Valerie and Theo walk by the beach. Theo wonders exactly what he took and Valerie says they don’t come with a list of ingredients. She realises Theo has never done anything like this before and says he’s in for an amazing time. Back at the Lyrik house, Remi returns and wonders what happened to Kirby’s meeting with Theo. She says he brought a friend along but twice insists she’s not jealous; Remi doesn’t look entirely convinced.

Leah and Justin are enjoying doing the drying up together and Leah wonders if this counts as a date. Theo and Valerie turn up. Theo says Kirby used the meeting to have a go at him and Justin notes it can’t have been that bad since he’s smiling. Valerie explains it away by saying they went for a walk. Leah and Justin decide to have one too, which Valerie encourages. She joins Theo in his room and says the adults have left. Theo sits staring at his own reflection. He wonders if Valerie wants to take a pill as well and she says she doesn’t need one at the moment. Theo tries to question the comment but she says she just wants to watch him.

Kirby insists she’s not jealous although Remi suggests she would prefer for him to die alone. Kirby continues to complain about Theo’s lack of interest in keeping Lyrik going as a duo and Valerie looking at her song book. Remi doesn’t seem to be paying that much attention and Kirby wonders if he cares. Remi says he does but he has enough trouble putting his shirt on without pain. He gets a text from Bree saying she’s home and will see him soon. Kirby realises he still hasn’t told her about being out of hospital.

Bree is at the Diner where Irene and Marilyn ask about her visit home; Bree doesn’t give any details about her father. She gets a text from Remi saying he’s home and asks the Diner ladies how long he’s been out of hospital. Irene says a week or so. At the Lyrik house, Kirby chides Remi for keeping it secret so long. Bree turns up and wonders why neither of them told her about him being out of hospital. Kirby tries asking about her father, who Remi said was doing better, but Bree refuses to let them change the subject. Remi says she needed to be with her family and Bree abruptly goes out the back.

Despite having told him he needed hydration, Valerie stops Theo from drinking too much water. He asks how often she does this and Valerie says whenever she needs an escape. Theo tells her not to be sad and hugs her before putting music on. Meanwhile, Justin and Leah are walking through a park area. Leah asks Justin what he thinks of Valerie. Justin notes she’s got great energy and seems to get on well with Theo. Leah thanks him for letting her move in. Justin says he’s glad it’s helping Leah.

Theo is dancing energetically to music in his room while Valerie watches, noting there’s less dancing when she does it. She checks her phone and gives him some more water. He wonders if she takes the drugs to forget her brother and she says it isn’t the time for a D&M. Theo gets a text from Kirby wanting to meet up. Valerie thinks he should wait a couple of hours but the texts keep on coming and Theo says he can’t avoid it.

Kirby is slightly bemused by the cheery answer text from Theo. She and Remi are admitting to Bree that they had to call Levi to give him some pain relief but stress that he was fine. Kirby heads off to meet Theo. Remi apologises to Bree and asks Bree about her father and whether he’s any closer to leaving hospital. Bree abruptly says she’s going to put the kettle on.

Irene and Marilyn happily greet Leah when she and Justin turn up at the Diner. Leah streses she’s not there to work and they accept an offer of coffee and cake but Leah can’t resist going to check on supplies. Marilyn stops by Justin who says things are better with Valerie now he’s changed his attitude towards her. Irene also has a word with him, suggesting he take Leah out on a date which he agrees with. Meanwhile, Bree brings over some coffee but still tries to avoid talking to Remi about her father, saying she needs to make some work calls. Remi pushes the subject and she tearfully says he died.

Theo meets up with Kirby by the beach and greets her with a hug before saying she looks amazing in a platonic way. Kirby thinks they should go to Salt to have a meeting over whether or not to accept the offer of a gig duo they’ve had. Theo isn’t really paying attention and Kirby wonders if he’s high, guessing that Valerie’s behind it. Theo ends up walking away.

Bree explains to Remi that her father’s head injury was worse than she thought: He was declared brain dead and they had to talk about turning life support off. Remi asks about the funeral, saying he’ll go with her. Bree says it was a few days ago. Remi is aghast that she didn’t tell him, saying he’d have been there to support her. Bree replies that she didn’t want him to and walks out just as Kirby arrives home. Remi is in too much pain to follow her.

Justin and Leah are having a romantic meal on the balcony at Salt. Justin is a bit reluctant to talk but eventually says that he misses her, all of her, waking up with her. He adds that there’s no pressure and they slowly lean in for a kiss. Meanwhile, Theo is back in his room with Valerie and comments on how weird it is being at odds with Kirby when they used to be so close and could talk to each other about everything: They’re barely even friends now. Valerie says it sounds similar to the relationship she had with her brother. She suggests they take a pill each and Theo agrees.

Remi talks to Kirby about Bree keeping secrets from him. Kirby points out that he can’t exactly complain about that. Remi protests that he lied to stop Bree rushing home whereas Bree lied because she didn’t want him to support her or meet her family. Kirby stresses that they both lied. Meanwhile, Theo and Valerie are both dancing energetically to the music before collapsing onto the bed. She asks if he’s feeling any better and then kisses him, with the kissing becoming more and more enthusiastic.
