Extended Summary

Tane meets up with Mackenzie on the beach and expresses his sympathy about Gabe. Mackenzie notes she’s having to cover for Felicity, who went to the Lyrik gig. Tane says he got a call from her at 4am. Kahu joins them and Tane asks him about enrolling at TAFE. Kahu flirts with Mackenzie a bit before she moves on. Tane tells Kahu she’s off-limits given what she’s been through recently.

Leah serves up a rather large breakfast for herself, Justin and Andrew. Andrew is fine with it and, although he doesn’t say much, he keeps shooting Leah looks throughout the meal. Leah asks if he slept well and he quickly says he didn’t do anything wrong.

At the Diner, Alf asks Marilyn about her meeting. Roo comes in and announces she’s prepared for the meeting by getting her medical report to prove the allergic reaction. Marilyn tries to put Roo off going with her. Alf suggests he go too but Marilyn says it’s unnecessary. At the gym, Kahu says the towels are done and the hand sainitiser refilled. He asks Tane about paying his TAFE fees. Tane says to give him the payment details but Kahu doesn’t want anyone to know Tane’s paying for him so Tane transfers him the money.

Justin asks Andrew what he wants to do today. Andrew asks when he can go home. Justin asks if someone will miss him, which he doesn’t answer, before saying they need to make sure it’s the best place for him. He gets a call from Cash and takes it in the bedroom. Leah quips that he always disappears when the dishes need doing. Andrew helps her out but unnerves her slightly by saying she smells nice.

Alf advises Marilyn and Roo not to go in all guns blazing and Roo ponders keeping the medical report in reserve. Marilyn gets a text saying her Stunning Organics delivery will arrive at 11.00 but tells them it’s from Kevin Planter postponing the meeting. She says she’ll give him a piece of her mind and walks out. Roo wants to ring him herself. Meanwhile, Marilyn goes to the beach house and lets the delivery guy in. He says he’ll get the rest of the boxes: There are already several piled up there.

Justin tells Leah there’s evidence another man was living with Andrew. The two bedrooms had clothes in them but there were no personal items there to identify them, the water was turned off and there was a padlocked room full of tinned food, water purifiers and tablets, as if someone was planning to live off the grid there. Andrew appears, as expressionless as ever, and Justin takes him to watch telly.

Kahu meets Tane on the balcony at Salt and says TAFE have been paid. He calls Mackenzie over and suggests she has lunch with them, before adding he wouldn’t want to get her in trouble with her boss. Mackenzie sarcastically agreed. Tane tells her he spoke to Felicity and she’ll be back that afternoon. After Mackenzie has gone, Tane explains to Kahu that she’s the co-owner.

In a park area, Roo phones Stunning Oeganics asking to speak to Kevin Planter, but not surprisingly she doesn’t get anywhere and they quickly hang up. Leah appears during the conversation. She tells Roo about Andrew: She thinks it was the right choice to help him but admits she feels uncomfortable around him. Meanwhile, Justin brings Andrew a drink before telling him about Cash searching his house. Andrew instantly goes into a panic, saying he needs to go home.

At the Diner, Roo talks Andrew over with Leah. Leah asks Marilyn about extra shifts and Marilyn says she’ll get back to her.Roo approaches Marilyn and tells her she rang Stunning Organics and they told her there is no Kevin Planter. Marilyn seems on the verge of explaining but Roo assumes they gave her a fake name and Marilyn is quick to agree.

Justin tries to talk to Andrew but Andrew is desperate to go home. Leah arrives home as Andrew gets more frantic saying “he” will know the police were there. Leah asks if he means his father but Andrew just asks to be excused. After he’s gone, Leah tells Justin that Andrew needs real help and Justin agrees they need to call the social worker.

Outside the surf club, Tane asks Kahu about his timetable, saying he’ll need to organise his shifts around it. Kahu sees Mackenzie and says he wants to apologise to her for before. He tells Mackenzie he’s sorry for not realising she was the owner but also turns on the charm with her again.

At the Diner, Alf, Marilyn and Roo talk over the situation with Stunning Organics. Roo says they’re not taking her calls now. Marilyn convinces Roo to not try contacting them again, saying she’ll handle it from now on. Back at the Morgan house, Justin is putting off calling the social worker. Leah offers to do it but he says he will. Justin strums his guitar and Andrew comes out of his room, interested in the music. He sits with them and listens.

Tane is doing paperwork at Salt. Mackenzie reminds him he has an office downstairs and he explains the staff bother him if he’s there. He’s trying to do the roster, which Mackenzie says she leaves to Felicity. Tane apologises for Kahu but Mackenzie says he was a good distraction. Tane gets the TAFE phone number from their website and calls to ask about Kahi’s schedule. He is confused by the response.

Kahu is on the phone to his mum outside the house and tells her he’ll give her the share of the profits: AUS$1500. He goes back inside as Tane arrives home. Tane asks about his timetable and Kahu says it’s online and he hasn’t got his login details. Tane says he knows Kahu isn’t enrolled and asks what he did with the money.
