Extended Summary

Ryder and Chloe are wandering by the beach. Ryder thinks feeling ill was worth it to beat Theo. Chloe reminds him they’re meant to be clearing their debt but Ryder says Theo would have been insufferable if he’d won. Theo runs up and Ryder says he’s got some explaining to do. Theo seems to think he means the kiss but Ryder just challenges him over ghost chillies being the hottest there are. Ryder has to get to work so can’t discuss a new challenge. At the beach house, Irene and Jasmine are discussing Felicity’s absence. Marilyn comes downstairs and Irene asks how she slept. Marilyn says the mattress is lumpy and also suggests Felicity’s partying somewhere. Jasmine starts to contradict her but Irene convinces her to go and meet Cash. Marilyn asks for toast and also complains her tea is weak.

Cash is waiting outside the Diner as Jasmine approaches. Leah and Justin stop her and ask about Marilyn. Jasmine says she’s fine physically and suggests the attitude might be to do with her recovery. She joins Cash who is worried about Felicity and decides to skip breakfast to look into it. He goes to the police station and meets Darren, who is still suspicious that he was involved in Felicity leaving. Cash convinces him they should work together to track her down.

Marilyn wonders why Irene isn’t at work. Irene says she changed her shifts around for the sake of their staycation. Marilyn says they could be spending time together at work if Irene hadn’t cancelled her shift. She wants to go shopping at Yabbie Creek and Irene offers to drive her. At the police station, Darren updates Cash: Felicity’s phone hasn’t pinged since she was in Summer Bay the day she went missing, and she hasn’t used her cards. Cash doesn’t think she’d have much money and the only close friend she had was Anne, who Darren says claims not to have seen her. Cash is worried that something’s wrong. Darren suggests he goes and gets some air.

At Salt, Theo encourages Ryder and Chloe to think of another challenge. Ryder is willing but busy at work so Theo says he and Chloe will brainstorm and Ryder can join them later. They head outside, where Theo wonders why Chloe didn’t tell Ryder about the kiss. Chloe says it would hurt him and she doesn’t want anything to get in the way of paying off the debt.

Justin finds Theo and Chloe looking at the video of the challenge and Theo points out he cleaned the place up afterwards. Ryder turns up and reveals a customer commented on him throwing up. Theo says they’ve increased the subscriptions and Ryder agrees to another video. Soon after, Justin is pulling an idea out of a hat: Another one of Theo’s, taking the polaris for a ride across the dunes. Ryder and Justin both think that John would never lend them one and they can’t borrow it without him noticing. Theo tries to stop them drawing another idea and they and Chloe learn he submitted the same idea five times and probably did the same with the chilli challenge.

Irene and Marilyn arrive at the Diner with Marilyn complaining that they didn’t buy anything. They explain to Leah that Marilyn berated the staff in one shop about the lack of service and then walked out with a meditation bowl she hadn’t paid for because she thought they were taking too long to serve her. Marilyn tells Irene not to make comments about her to Leah. At Salt, Jasmine meets Cash who tells her about co-operating with Darren but thinks there’s not much to go on. He says Felicity doesn’t have many friends in the area but might still be in touch with people where they used to live.

Irene and Marilyn arrive back at the beach house. Marilyn accuses Irene of being horrible to her and realises she’s babysitting her. She walks out, telling Irene not to follow. She meets up with Leah at the Diner, moments before Irene comes in. Leah suggests they talk it over like adults and Marilyn agrees that that’s what she is. Leah reminds her she discharged herself from hospital but suggests Irene agree to give her space.

Outside the surf club, Cash tells Jasmine he’s going to check out his foster father’s old place and the old farm, declining her offer to go with him. Darren watches from a distance as Cash drives off, then approaches Jasmine who explains what’s going on. He takes her down the station for a chat, saying Cash was supposed to be sharing information with him and he could have contacted the local police for help. Jasmine suggests Cash just didn’t think of it. Producing Cash’s service record, Darren tells her that in the middle of Cash’s probationary year he and Felicity suddenly disappeared for eleven months, and warns her that if Cash is helping Felicity, she could be charged as an accessory. Jasmine leaves.

Marilyn is lying on the couch complaining of a headache and accepts Irene’s offer of paracetamol. Jasmine comes in, complaining that Darren says Cash is keeping things from her. Marilyn chimes in that Jasmine has never been a good judge when it comes to men, citing Colby and Lewis. Jasmine, annoyed, says she’ll go for a run. Meanwhile, Ryder, Chloe and Theo are walking. Ryder says he gets to choose the next idea: A creative cocktail challenge. He tells them to meet him at Salt in an hour. Theo tries to talk to Chloe about the kiss but she points out he did it while Ryder was on the other side of the door and accuses him of wanting Ryder to see them. She says she’d never be interested in someone like him.
