Extended Summary

At the Morgan house, Leah and Tori watch Justin fidgeting with the phone, waiting for a call from the hospital about his operation. Tori takes the phone off him and gets him to feed Grace instead, but soon after, Christian appears at the door. Everyone is bemused and he comments on being able to pop in on the way to the beach in a small town. He announces he has scheduled Justin’s surgery for tomorrow and wants him to come in that afternoon and stay overnight. At the Diner, Alf chats to Roo and Ryder about how talkative John was on the car journey. Roo goes to the counter and runs into Owen. Ryder wonders if they’re going to hug or have a peck on the cheek, fully aware they can both hear him. Owen asks Roo if she’s been avoiding him and suggests they try having a date again, saying nothing formal.

At the Diner flat, Ziggy is infuriated by Dean suddenly changing his mind about her moving back in and failing to give an explanation. She thinks something must have happened with Amber or Jai but Dean denies it. Ziggy leaves, refusing his offer of help with her bags. Shortly after, she is driving when she gets a warning message about the power train and pulls over. Willow and Jasmine see her working on the car and Jasmine worries she gave her bad advice about Dean. Willow sends Jasmine on to the gym and approaches Ziggy, who complains about Dean buying her a bomb. Willow wonders if she’s angry with Dean about something else and Ziggy explains about him kicking her out and not explaining why. She decides to take the car back to the garage.

Shortly after, Ziggy is working on the car at the garage when Justin turns up. He tells her about the surgery and says he wants to get things done there first. Meanwhile, Willow has gone round to see Dean. She isn’t sure pushing Ziggy away is the best way to handle things but Dean can’t think of another way. Amber then turns up, still annoyed that Dean left her to explain to Jai why he didn’t want to see him. She says she’s not going to let it happen again: He’s not to see Jai.

Justin tells Ziggy he wants a word. Ziggy realises he’s thinking about giving up the garage, saying she knows his family. Justin says that in all likelihood the surgery will go well and he’ll be back at work shortly, but if that doesn’t happen, he wants her to look after the place. Back at the house, Tori has put Grace down and offers to help Leah pack Justin’s bag. Justin arrives back; Leah thinks she’s made a mess of the packing but Justin suspects she’s got everything. Tori tells him that Brody and Raffy want him to call them before he goes.

Dean tells Willow that Amber’s right and he messed up. He says that the whole house of cards is going to come down on them and Bella, and it’s best that anyone else is out of the way. Later, Willow approaches Amber near the beach. Amber says she isn’t interested in Dean’s sob story. Willow says Amber kept Dean and Jai apart for years and thinks it’s because she was worried Dean would reject her. She tells her not to put more pressure on him.

Meanwhile, Alf and Roo are sat outside the caravan park house. Roo wonders if she’s doing the right thing. Marilyn exits on her way to babysit Grace and wonders about taking her healing crystals for Justin; Alf says it couldn’t hurt. Owen arrives and exchanges compliments with Marilyn and then Roo before he and Roo leave. At the hospital, Leah. Jasmine and Tori are getting Justin settled in his room. Jasmine has found a lime jelly for Justin to have afterwards but Tori says she knows where there’s a stash of orange. She passes Christian, who says he prefers red and asks after Justin. Tori says he’s scared and pretending not to be. Christian joins Justin and Leah. Justin agrees that he’s ready.

Roo and Owen have gone to Salt, where Ryder brings them complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, then offers them the specials or music. Roo convinces him to go and see to other patrons. Owen reminds her she wanted somewhere low key and local. They enjoy the drinks; Ryder grins broadly. Meanwhile, Willow goes back to the Diner flat. Dean hasn’t heard from Ziggy. Willow mentions her chat with Amber; Dean thanks her for trying and notes he doesn’t want to push her and Jai away. However, he thinks if he tells Ziggy the truth it’ll be over. Willow suggests Ziggy might want to have the choice.

Tori confirms to Justin that Marilyn is looking after Grace. Justin convinces her to go home. He tries to do the same to Leah, saying she can’t spend the night in a chair, but Leah instead clambers onto the bed with him. As Tori is leaving, she bumps into Christian and is annoyed that he’s there so late when he’s operating in the morning. Christian says he’s making sure he’s prepared but agrees he should be at home. Tori says the worst thing is knowing what can go wrong but she’s glad Justin has a good surgeon. Next morning, Leah and Jasmine walk beside Justin as he is wheeled towards theatre. Tori and Christian arrive and Christian reassures them all.

Dean goes to see Ziggy at the garage and says she deserves to know what’s going on but she’s not going to like it. He starts off saying he got involved with something bad before admitting it’s about Ross’ murder investigation and the more she knows the worse off she’ll be. Ziggy says to tell her. Dean says he was there when Colby shot Ross: He couldn’t stop him and he helped cover it up. He says he loves her and hopes they can work something out. Ziggy tells him to get out.
