Extended Summary

Martha and Roo are waiting outside the caravan park house as Alf and Marilyn draw up. They tell Marilyn they’ve got a room set up for her and encourage the pair to have a rest. Marilyn however wants to get back to the hospital straightaway. After trying to get her to have a lie down first, Alf eventually admits that John asked him to keep her away. Marilyn thinks it’s because she forced him to sleep in a van. Alf insists it’s just because he doesn’t want her to see him like that. Meanwhile, Colby is looking through the beach house fridge, to Jasmine’s annoyance. Jasmine insists she’s fine but Colby retorts that Willow turning up at his with no job or place to live isn’t fine. Jasmine refuses to talk and goes off to her room.

Ziggy and Dean are walking on the beach, talking about having to schedule a date night because Ziggy’s new responsibilities at the garage give them little free time. Maggie appears, having just got off the bus. Dean leaves her and Ziggy to talk and heads up to the flat. Maggie reveals Coco is vice president of the Save Our Reef society. Dean finds Willow in the flat and she explains about Jasmine throwing her out, leaving her with no home, job or best friend. Dean gets her to tell him the full story.

In the Diner, Maggie gives Ziggy some mugs as a present from Coco, saying she and Ben got tea towels. She asks about Ben; Ziggy says she hasn’t seen him much but Dean says he’s okay. Leah comes in and greets Irene, who tells her about Jasmine and Willow. She notes she thought Jasmine would get back to her old self but just seems to be getting worse. Back at the beach house, Jasmine emerges to find Colby sat reading. She asks about Willow, saying she didn’t mean to hurt her but it feels like everyone’s watching her and expecting her to fall apart. Colby presses her and she admits she’s afraid if she does fall apart she’ll lose Grace.

Ziggy arrives back at the flat, ready for plans with Dean, and finds Willow there. Willow tells them not to change plans for her but Ziggy says they’ll just get beer and pizza. Meanwhile, Colby suggests to Jasmine that she’s honest with people. Jasmine isn’t convinced, saying Justin already doesn’t trust her and might convince Tori not to let her see Grace again. Colby says pretending to be fine is part of the problem since people don’t expect her to be.

Alf, Martha and Marilyn are in the Diner when Marilyn gets a call from Tori. She worries that it’s bad news but Tori passes on a message from John saying not to worry about him and hoping she has a good sleep. Alf and Martha suggest it’s good that he’s thinking of her. Roo joins them and says Ryder is fine with Marilyn staying and has gone to a gig with Evan. Alf remains suspicious of Evan, knowing there’s something he’s not been told. Up in the flat, Dean, Ziggy and Willow are finishing eating. Ziggy and Dean suggest Willow could open her own gym and steal Jasmine’s clients but she says she’s not after revenge. Colby turns up and reveals he’s brought Jasmine with him. Dean and Ziggy retire to the bedroom, where Ziggy collapses onto the bed, exhausted. Dean suggests they make the most of being left alone but Ziggy says there’s people just outside, plus she’s tired.

Colby shows Jasmine and Willow out onto the balcony and leaves them to it. Jasmine tries to apologise but Willow won’t leave it at that without an explanation, saying grieving doesn’t explain kissing Colby or stealing a baby. Jasmine admits she’s scared and needs friends. Dean joins Colby in the flat’s main room and they comment that at least the two women haven’t thrown each other off the balcony. Colby makes up the couch in case Jasmine wants to stay. They reflect on the days they used to solve things by grabbing their boards and going on a trip up the coast. Jasmine and Willow emerge in a better mood and everyone goes to bed.

Next morning, outside the Diner, Martha suggests getting John flowers which Alf isn’t too keen on. Marilyn arrives, giving them a bag of John’s things that she got from his van, and reels off a long message about being by his side as soon as he wants her and not seeing him as a burden. Upstairs, Willow has changed into her work uniform and tells Jasmine she’s lucky she didn’t burn it. Colby gives Jasmine a lift. Dean tries to convince Ziggy to have another date night tonight but Ziggy says she’ll have to see how it goes at work. Willow offers to walk to work with Dean.

Irene greets Jasmine and Colby on their arrival back at the beach house. Jasmine apologises for her behaviour and says Willow will be moving back in as soon as she’s finished work. Colby says it should be all right for Irene to go away for a couple of weeks and Irene says she’ll pack as soon as she gets home. Outside the Diner, Alf reiterates to Martha that he’s suspicious about Evan suddenly turning up. Martha tries to get him to have Evan over for a family dinner but Alf refuses.

Willow and Dean approach the surf club. Willow apologises for messing up the date night and Dean says he couldn’t exactly tell her to find somewhere else to cry. They see Maggie, and Willow takes her inside for a free gym session. Dean looks through the post and sees a flyer for a surf competition. He goes to the garage and shows it to Ziggy, seeing it as a chance to go away and spend time together and maybe win some money. Ziggy insists she can’t leave the garage.
