Extended Summary

Willow has just finished a class on the beach. Dean appears and asks if she’s heard from Colby about a party. Willow says she hasn’t checked her phone. Neither of them are really in the mood for it, with Dean busy with Ziggy’s family, and wonder if he’s missing Bella. Willow gets a text from Colby with the same information. They think he sounds desperate and decide to go halves on a crate of beer. At Salt, Jasmine ignores a phone call from Irene. Willow and Dean arrive and wonder if she knows about Colby; Jasmine tells them about the divorce. She admits she had a bad day; she tells Willow about not going into work and looking after Grace but decides against giving further details, saying she’d probably jump down Willow’s throat too. They invite her to the party; she is reluctant but agrees to go for one drink.

Willow, Jasmine and Dean all turn up at Colby’s flat. Colby says he now has a certificate to prove he’s a failure. He is surprised to see Jasmine there and she doesn’t want to discuss Tori and Justin. As they break out the beers, Colby drinks a Braveheart-style toast to “Freedom!” and then to bad decisions, messy break-ups and failed relationships. Later, Colby wonders what he’s meant to do with the divorce certificate. Jasmine says it’s for if he wants to get married again. They debate putting it up on the wall in a frame or possibly using it as a dartboard. Dean and Willow quietly discuss the pair’s behaviour with Dean saying it’s like a slow motion train wreck.

Down in the Diner, Maggie admits to Roo it was good to have a break from Ben at school and his walls go up when she’s there with him. Irene gives her her takeaway. Roo asks what’s happened to her coffee. Irene tries to call Jasmine again first, admitting they had a barney earlier. At the hospital, Ben and Ziggy are discussing a “surfari”; Ben isn’t keen on Indonesia so Ziggy suggests Tahiti. Ziggy goes out to take a call from Dean about the divorce party. Maggie passes her; Ben seems to thinks she’s Ziggy at first, suggesting Portugal, but clams up when he sees it’s her, refusing her takeaway on the grounds he’s not hungry, although he does say he’s being discharged tomorrow. He says she didn’t have to come in and doesn’t respond to Maggie saying she wanted to. Ziggy tells Dean it could be a while.

Colby has turned the divorce certificate into a paper plane, which immediately crashes. He and Jasmine chat briefly about feeling lost before deciding they need beer and pizza. Willow agrees to go get food in the hope it will soak up the booze and tells Dean to try and get them to drink water. She tries to get Jasmine to come with her but Jasmine declines. Dean says he’ll make sure no-one drives or posts on social media. No-one notices Jasmine’s call vibrating with a call from Irene. Shortly after, Irene and Leah go to Salt looking for Jasmine. Irene is worried about her and says she didn’t mean any harm but Leah says Justin’s just trying to protect his family. Willow comes in and tells them where Jasmine is. They fill her in on Justin having a go at Jasmine and her falling out with Irene.

Ziggy tells Ben about an idea to go surfing from a boat in the Indian Ocean. Maggie makes a joke about “margarita by the pool” that falls flat. Ziggy takes Maggie into the corridor, pointing out her attempts to engage with Ben aren’t working and he was fine until she turned up. Maggie thinks they need to talk and sends Ziggy to Dean’s. When she goes back into the room, Ben says she doesn’t need to stay. Maggie says she wants to and needs to. Willow and Ziggy rock up at the flat, where Ziggy notices how drunk Colby and Jasmine are, only having pizza so they can drink more afterwards. Ziggy chats briefly to Dean about Ben before going to the bathroom. Willow takes Dean onto the balcony and fills him in on Jasmine. Jasmine is dancing and falls onto the sofa. Colby tries to pull her up and they end up kissing. Willow and Dean come back and are aghast. Colby tries to apologise but Jasmine just wants to go home and Willow ushers her out minus a shoe. As Colby protests that it was Jasmine that kissed him, Dean angrily asks Colby why he involves everyone else in his mess.

Willow takes Jasmine down to the Diner and asks to borrow Irene’s car to take her home. Jasmine is wrecked, saying she didn’t mean to have a go at Irene before and is an awful person. Irene says she’s not awful, just grieving. Jasmine feels guilty for kissing Robbo’s friend just three months after he died. At the hospital, Maggie tells Ben they need to talk about what happens if he gets feelings like that again. Ben says that’s what his psychiatrist’s for. Maggie says she sent Ziggy away so they can talk but Ben doesn’t seem to be interested. Ben says he’s tired and tells her to go home. Maggie complies, sitting alone and looking worn out.

Ziggy has finished the washing up and chats to Dean about her parents again, going to bed as Colby returns from a shower. Colby says Dean’s the same as him and was there that day, so he doesn’t understand why Dean’s happy and he’s divorced. Dean retorts that Colby pulled the trigger, dragged him into it and told Chelsea, so deserves everything he gets. Next morning, Ziggy heads out to work, passing Willow who gives an update on Jasmine and asks about Colby. Colby emerges from his room in time to overhear Dean saying that Colby needs to take responsibility for his bad decisions and Mackenzie dodged a bullet breaking up with him. Annoyed, Colby goes for a swim. Willow tries to get Dean to go after him but Dean says it was true and thinks Colby will cool off.

At the hospital, a nurse takes Ben’s food tray away. Maggie appears; Ben says she didn’t have to come and Maggie says she wanted to know the details of him getting out. Ben says she could have called and Maggie points out he’s not answering her calls. Maggie asks how many times she has to say she’s sorry and Ben sarcastically suggests fourteen, or twenty-two, one for every year of marriage. Maggie says if he won’t forgive her then they won’t move forward and will need to rethink their marriage. Ben just looks at her blankly. Maggie leaves, looking drained.
