Extended Summary

Leah makes a lengthy babbling speech to Justin about how marriage is just a piece of paper, she’s been married too many times before and doesn’t want to do it again, and does love him even though he’s probably feeling rejected… When Justin eventually manages to get a word in edgeways, he explains that he’s thinking of expanding the business and wanted her advice as a business owner. He adds he thought some time in the future they might get a house together if she doesn’t mind the paperwork. Leah looks mortified. Meanwhile, Jasmine, who is walking Grace near the beach, runs into Colby. He says he’s been told it’s another three weeks before he’ll be able to surf or go back to work. Jasmine invites him to join them for a walk. Colby wonders why Marilyn doesn’t have Grace and Jasmine says it’s her turn babysitting today.

Marilyn is folding towels, looking somewhat lost. She picks up her phone and brings up Tori’s contact details but then puts it down again. Meanwhile, Colby admits to Jasmine that without work or Bella he’s at something of a loose end. He says it feels like he’s in a holding pattern and Jasmine says she feels the same. Grace starts fussing and, since they’re near the Diner, Jasmine suggests going upstairs to warm a bottle. Irene appears and says she thought Jasmine was working and Marilyn had Grace. Jasmine says she got her days muddled up so gave Marilyn the day off. She and Colby head to the Diner with Grace.

Justin explains to Leah that he’s thinking of hiring another mechanic to work with Ziggy so he can concentrate on the business side and expand, doing a part-time business course. Leah, seeming very uncomfortable, says she’s on board but needs to get back to the Diner, hurriedly saying that she’s fine. Back at the Diner, she tells Irene she could die, explaining what happened and worrying that Justin thinks she isn’t committed. Marilyn comes in and Irene says she thought she’d have her feet up now she hasn’t got Grace. Marilyn says it was forced on her and explains what happened. She worries that she should have called Tori first. Irene says Jasmine isn’t a stranger but Leah thinks Tori would want to know and Irene agrees Marilyn should call her.

Jasmine is nursing Grace with a bottle in the Diner flat and comments to Colby that she used to do this a lot when Grace lived there with them. Colby offers her a drink and Jasmine momentarily forgets herself, recalling that’s what used to happen with her and Robbo. Colby opens up his post and sees that it’s his divorce certificate. At the garage, Justin is looking up business courses on his laptop. He gets a call from Tori and starts to ask her opinion but she’s apparently in an agitated state and he assures her that he’ll get Grace.

At the Diner, Marilyn tells Leah and Irene that Tori said Jasmine made it up. Irene says Grace is safe and thinks it’s a misunderstanding but Marilyn isn’t convinced and thinks it makes her look bad. Justin arrives; Marilyn feels guilty about letting Jasmine take Grace. Justin says she’s not at Irene’s and Irene says she was with Colby earlier so they might be upstairs. Up in the flat, Jasmine thinks Colby’s upset at how things ended with Chelsea but he says he’s bothered that it’s another failure. Justin arrives and finds Jasmine there, asking why she took Grace from Marilyn without telling Tori. Jasmine says she was going to call her and Grace wasn’t safe there with Tane. Justin says Marilyn thought it was okay, it wasn’t Jasmine’s choice to make and he’s taking Grace home.

Marilyn continues to fret until Justin brings Grace down. He explains what Jasmine said about not trusting Tane. Marilyn says she told Tori he was only there for one night. Justin doesn’t blame her but says they’ll have to talk about how things work. He leaves with Grace, declining Leah’s offer of help. Marilyn thinks Tori won’t trust her with Grace again and wants to talk to Jasmine. Irene goes after her. Upstairs, Jasmine complains to Colby about Justin acting as though she’s kidnapped Grace while Colby is confused that Tori seems to have been okay that Grace was with Marilyn. Jasmine storms downstairs, Colby following, saying she refuses to be treated like the bad guy. Irene and Marilyn appear and Marilyn asks why Jasmine told her Tori didn’t want her looking after Grace. Jasmine says Tori was worried but was too busy to do anything. Marilyn says she spoke to Tori and explained. Jasmine snaps that Robbo died protecting his daughter and wouldn’t want her in a house with strangers and she’s not going to apologise.

Irene follows Jasmine out onto the pier and tries to point out how worried Tori would have been that she’d taken Grace without saying. Jasmine protests that Leah and Justin have left Grace with her in the past without telling Tori and she’s Grace’s stepmother. Irene says she doesn’t have the right to override Tori’s decisions and Marilyn would look after Grace as would a lot of people. Jasmine, calmer, says she’ll talk to Tori. Back in the Diner, Marilyn is upset that Jasmine didn’t trust her. Leah says she’s dealing with Robbo dying and the pregnancy. Irene returns and agrees that Jasmine isn’t herself but knows she’s done wrong.

Jasmine turns up at the Morgan house looking for Tori. Justin says she’s still at work. Jasmine wants to go to the hospital but Justin says Tori doesn’t need her stressing her out and she should go home. Jasmine says she’ll come back tomorrow and Justin tells her not to, saying Tori needs one-on-one time with Grace and she should give them space. Jasmine angrily says that she looked after Grace while Tori was in a coma. Justin tells her to leave. At the Diner, Irene and Leah discuss Marilyn and Irene teasingly says that Justin’s probably forgotten the non-proposal. Jasmine turns up, angry with Justin, and says they’re trying to cut her out of Grace’s life. Irene tries to calm her down but Jasmine says if Irene isn’t going to support her then she doesn’t want her advice.

Leah goes to the garage and tells Justin, who has left Grace with Tori, that she heard he had another run-in with Jasmine. Justin says he just told her to give them space for the rest of the day. Leah sees the courses he’s looking at and assures him she’s supportive, it’s just that morning was the most embarrassing experience of her life. She says she’s committed to them but doesn’t believe in marriage anymore. Justin says he’s fine with it but looks disappointed when she turns away. Meanwhile, Colby passes Jasmine, who is several paces away before she notices him talking to her. She says she thought she knew her place in the world and now it’s all gone, adding that she knew when she was a kid that you couldn’t trust people and nothing was permanent but thought she could be happy. Colby says she has people that care about her but Jasmine says Colby’s friends are his family and hers want to cut her out of Grace’s life. After she’s gone, Colby calls Dean and says they’re having a party.
