Extended Summary

Jade waits outside the surf club as Mackenzie arrives, telling her to listen to her before sacking her. She says Ryder was the one stealing. Mackenzie is sceptical but Jade tells her that he’s been arrested and she just saw the police chasing him. At that moment, Ryder is being led into the police station by Colby, with Roo following. Both are incredulous he’s being charged and Colby explains the DPP think the information on his phone is enough evidence. Ryder wants to call Mackenzie and explain. Colby says he should be processed first, then they’ll sort out his bail.

Tori is slowly walking up and down the corridor at the hospital. Justin arrives and Tori complains about him missing her walking, but Justin says he has to tell her something. He’s saved the trouble when her AFP bodyguard arrives. Tori is horrified that it’s starting up again. Justin assures her Grace is safe and she decides to call Jasmine. Meanwhile, Irene is shown into the Diner flat by the police guard and notes she knew something was wrong when Bella came to stay with her. Jasmine tells her that Lance is dead and Robbo is off somewhere basically acting as bait: She has to get Grace to Tori at the hospital.

At the Diner, a group of youths recognise Jade; one of them asks for her autograph and offers to be her co-star next time. Jade gives them short shrift, but when Bella comes over and asks if she’s okay, she becomes teary, saying Ryder talked her into videoing them having sex and then posted it online. Bella is shocked. At the police station, Ryder’s mugshot is taken and Colby gives him paperwork for his lawyer. Bella turns up at the station and briefly chats to Roo. Seeing Ryder, she asks Colby if it’s true he’s been charged. Colby doesn’t answer, instead saying she shouldn’t be there when she’s sick and to go back to Irene’s.

Irene and Jasmine arrive at the hospital with Grace, delivering her to Tori and Justin. Jasmine tells them that Lance and Dylan are both dead. Irene tries to reassure everyone by saying Robbo can look after himself but Jasmine points out Lance could too. Tori recalls him keeping her sane in witness protection. She asks how Grace is and Jasmine says she’s just had a feed. Irene adds that Jasmine has got her into a routine and Tori comments on her doing all the hard work. Jasmine says this is what they’ve been waiting for. Later, Justin and Irene both find Jasmine in the corridor. Jasmine says she’ll drop the rest of Grace’s things at the Morgan house, since she wants it out of the flat. Irene asks Justin about Leah: He says there’s no leads and he hasn’t told Tori.

Ryder has been returned to Roo at the police station with Colby sorting out his bail. Roo lends Ryder her phone to call Mackenzie. At the surf club, Jade continues to put her version of events to Mackenzie. Ryder calls her and tells her it wasn’t him doing the stealing. He admits, after Jade prompts Mackenzie to ask, that he’s at the police station but says it’s nothing to do with that and he’ll tell her everything in person. Jade claims she doesn’t want to talk about what happened but Mackenzie says she can’t help her without knowing the full story.

Justin joins Tori, who is nervous about the police guard. Justin closes the door so he’s at least out of view and advises her to concentrate on Grace. At the Diner, Jasmine ponders if she should have told Tori Grace’s routine, then concludes that she’ll probably want to do things her own way. Colby comes in and Irene asks him about Leah. Colby says they’ve got manpower on it but no leads. He asks Jasmine about Robbo and Irene about Bella; she says she was all right last night but left before she got up that morning. Colby is frustrated that she’s all around town instead of resting.

Roo and Ryder are dropped off by a police car outside the caravan park house. Roo tries to gee Ryder up but he is pessimistic. Bella is waiting and Roo leaves the teens alone. Bella asks Ryder if he posted the sex tape. Ryder insists Jade is lying but Bella slaps him and storms off, saying that’s what Tommy said about her. Ryder follows her, horrified she’s comparing them, and says Jade did it because he reported her for stealing and his reputation’s ruined. Bella says Jade’s is too. Ryder is aghast that she’d believe a near stranger over him after he’s been a friend to her. Bella says every time she’s certain of something it’s pulled out from under her. Ryder reflects that if his friends don’t believe him no-one will.

On the balcony at Salt, Colby tells Mackenzie that her petty theft complaint has led to something more serious. Mackenzie says she knows about the sex tape and asks if he really thinks Ryder did it. Colby indicates he doesn’t but the evidence is pointing that way. He confirms that Mackenzie can’t have both Ryder and Jade working there, since he has to stay away from her. If Mackenzie sacks Jade, there’ll be legal issues or bad press. Mackenzie isn’t happy that she has to sack Ryder. Walking past the surf club, Bella seems them together and looks angry.

Tori is trying to settle Grace and tells Justin that she’s already had a bottle and her nappy’s okay. At the Diner, Jasmine gets an alert on her phone about Grace’s feed. Irene tries to get her to go and sleep. Jasmine says she can do that any time without a baby around and doesn’t want to be on her own; Irene pointing out the guard waiting outside doesn’t reassure her. She ponders that not long ago she and Robbo were picking out colours for Grace’s bedroom. Irene says nothing will stop Robbo being Grace’s father. Jasmine says lots of things could. Irene tries to reassure her.

In the surf club, Ryder is frustrated that Jade has won as an apologetic Mackenzie tells him if she doesn’t sack him then Jade will cause trouble for her. After Ryder has gone, Bella storms over to Mackenzie and accuses her of using people and then discarding them, telling her to leave Summer Bay. Mackenzie says Colby will see through her eventually and Bella says that by the time he does Mackenzie will be gone and forgotten. Colby, on the stairs, asks what she means. Colby and Bella exit the surf club. Bella says Mackenzie made her say those things. Colby replies that Bella threatened her and seemed to enjoy and be proud of it. He asks her if she’s really sick, since she’s missed school and he’s spending money trying to find tutors. Bella insists she is. Colby sends her back to Irene’s.

Grace has settled; Justin thinks she just needed a cuddle but Tori thinks she needs to sleep without people coming in and out all the time. She wants to go home, since the AFP can protect her just as easily there, and  asks Justin to help her.
