Extended Summary

Up on the headland, a new trainer is putting a class including Alex through their paces while Willow watches on. Willow sees Colby and Bella coming past and goes over to talk to them; they explain they are getting supplies. Willow notices Bella’s bandaged hand but Bella dismisses it and heads off, with Colby following. Later, Willow and Alex go into the gym. Alex reminds Willow she owes her a drink and they decide to meet up that evening. Alex asks about Bella, saying she saw her in an angry mood the previous day and that’s how she hurt her hand.

Outside the Diner, Leah is frustrated at how far Justin is taking things. Justin still insists he’s going to court, citing the way Robbo reacted. Leah says Justin backed him into a corner and he might be reasonable if they just talk. She also reminds him that Tori had a contract with Robbo granting him equal parenting rights. Mason and Ava appear and ask what’s going on. Up in the flat, Robbo is looking through drawers for the contract despite Jasmine thinking Justin wasn’t serious about going to court. Colby and Bella arrive and Robbo says Justin’s trying to take Grace away. Colby sends Bella back to the surf club while Robbo says if Justin wants a fight he’s got one. Jasmine looks frustrated.

Willow sees Bella arrive back at the surf club and says she heard about yesterday. Bella is suspicious, wondering who told her. She says everything’s fine now that Colby’s promised to stay away from Mackenzie and thinks he’ll soon realise they don’t need her. Back at the flat, Colby advises Robbo to seek legal advice. Jasmine notes Grace needs a feed; she offers to do it but Robbo says he will. Jasmine says she’s going for a walk, with Robbo apparently failing to pick up on how unhappy she seems. Colby questions Robbo, who thinks Jasmine just doesn’t like having a baby around, since she said she didn’t want children. He thinks looking after a baby every now and then is different to being a full-time parents and that Grace is his responsibility, not Jasmine’s or Justin’s.

Arriving back at the Morgan house, Mason tries to convince Justin that he is the uncle, not the father, and it’s up to Robbo to look after Grace. Leah and Ava quickly decide to go for another walk. Mason stops Justin calling a lawyer, saying Robbo’s not the loose cannon he paints him as: He and Ava went round there and he was friendly and welcoming, and Justin might get the same if he approaches him right. Mason also suggests Justin should be focusing on Ava. Mason heads to the gym; Willow jokes about him not being able to stay away and he admits he’s getting away from Justin. Alex comes through after getting changed and says she’ll meet Willow later. Mason teases Willow, who says they’re just going out as friends. Mason asks if Alex knows that; Willow looks as though she’s pondering it before he says he’s just joking.

Leah and Ava are walking in a park area. Leah assures Ava that she and Justin aren’t fighting, just having heated debates; they disagree on things but it’s not personal and they still love each other. Ava is glad, since she’s getting used to having Leah around. Justin appears and says it’s been pointed out that he’s been a bad dad lately. Ava thinks he’s great and is sent off for a milkshake. Leah asks Justin how he’d feel if someone told him he wasn’t good enough to look after Ava. At the Diner, Irene brings Jasmine a coffee, even though she didn’t order one, saying she knows what it’s like with a newborn. Leah and Ava come in for the milkshake; Irene protests she’s already had one today but she insists. Leah sends Ava to help Irene make it while she chats to Jasmine; both hope Robbo and Justin can sort things out.

At the surf club, Bella has just won a pool game and collects her money from her opponent. Colby comes in and she challenges him to a game. He agrees but goes to talk to Willow first. She asks him if it’s true he’s finished with Mackenzie. Colby says it’s just on pause. Willow says that’s not what Bella thinks and doesn’t want him throwing away a good relationship: She and Justin were meant to be on pause but that was the end. She also thinks he should be honest with Bella. On the balcony of the Diner flat, Robbo is looking after Grace. Colby joins him. Robbo notes it’s not what Colby signed up for and he’d forgotten what new babies were like. Colby recalls that he was ten when Bella was born. Justin appears but promises he’s just there to talk. Colby leaves them to it.

Inside the flat, Justin says he’s struggling to deal with what’s happened but beginning to accept Robbo is the father. He says he and Tori have always had each other’s backs and he trusts her judgement: If she wanted Robbo as the father, she must have had a good reason. He says Robbo can come round and get the cradle and anything Tori got for Grace, while Robbo says Justin can visit whenever he wants. Justin says he’s taking Leah and Ava to the city to see Tori and will see when he gets back. At Salt, Willow and Jasmine run into each other. Jasmine assumes Willow is dressed up for a date; Willow says she’s just meeting a friend and Jasmine assumes she wants to be more than friends with them. Willow talks about coming round to see Grace and Jasmine says Robbo won’t let her do anything. Alex arrives; Willow invites Jasmine to join them but Jasmine declines, wanting to talk to Robbo. Alex doesn’t see anything strange in the offer and accepts Willow’s challenge of tequila.

Bella beats Colby at their pool game and he complains about her doing it with a busted hand. Bella accuses him of having a mood and thinks he’s still missing Mackenzie. Colby says he’s just thinking about the situation with Robbo. Back at the flat, Robbo has put Grace down. Jasmine comes in, saying she’s got dinner ready, and Robbo tells her about getting the things from Justin. Jasmine starts to talk about how things are going to be but Robbo says he’ll look after Grace and she should go back to work. Although disappointed, Jasmine agrees to ring the hospital.

Willow has told Alex something of her history before getting into PT. Alex says she wanted to be a doctor since she was diagnosed with epilepsy at twelve and before that she wanted to be a pilot. She adds that she came out to her parents at seventeen. Willow asks how long she’d known; Alex she always did and wanted to be the one rescuing princesses in fairy stories. She tries to call it a night but Willow convinces her to stay for one more drink. At the flat, Bella gets up during the night and hears Colby in bed, on the phone to Mackenzie: He arranges to meet her on the pier in half an hour.

Willow and Alex exit the deserted surf club with Alex noting she didn’t realise how late it was. Willow says the night doesn’t have to be over; she pushes Alex against the wall and kisses her. Alex pulls away, saying Willow’s drunk and she’s taking advantage. Despite Willow saying she started it, Alex leaves. Willow realises Irene has seen and is looking at her horrified; Willow hurries away without talking to her.
