Extended Summary
Des and Fitz run through the power plant, splitting up. Two more police officers have joined Colby and Jasmine, so Jasmine tells Colby to go and help Robbo. Robbo is making his way cautiously; he reaches the spot where Des and Fitz split and takes one route. He is startled by Colby appearing behind him but accepts his company. Near the beach, Willow thanks Alex for listening to her and they banter about her going easy on Alex in the next session. Alex’s pager goes off and she notes she’ll have to take a raincheck on their juice. They arrange to meet after.
Robbo and Colby continue their search. They catch up to Des, who shoots at them but runs out of ammo. Des flees and Robbo and Colby circle round in different directions…but then a ute drives at Robbo, forcing him to dive aside. Colby and other officers pursue the ute on foot but it smashes through a locked gate and down a track. Colby admits he didn’t get the registration. Robbo tries to rush back to the car but Colby says it’s too far away and signals for other cars to chase the ute. They go and check on Jasmine. Some time later, Colby is on the phone as Robbo brings Jasmine into the police station. He says the patrol lost the ute in the back roads and Robbo doesn’t think they will find it. Jasmine’s willing to be questioned but says Des always went away from her when he was on the phone. She doesn’t know his surname but does add Lenny and Fitz; Colby passes the names on to someone. She says they were at the power plant for a few days after Des realised she’d tipped Robbo off about the warehouse; she tried to tell them he didn’t know where Dylan Carter was. She is clearly exhausted so Robbo elects to take her to the hospital.
At the Diner, John and Marilyn question Martha about what she’s been doing since they last saw her, while Alf cringes. Martha notes she had some of her paintings exhibited and even managed to sell one. Maggie and Roo enter and Roo is delighted to see Martha, wondering why she didn’t say she was coming. Later, Alf, Roo and Martha walk on the beach. Martha wonders if Alf is wearing his hat to annoy her and he replies that he’s hoping it’ll grow on her. He asks Roo if her lunch hour is over but Roo says it isn’t. He eventually tells her he wants some time alone with Martha. Roo seems disappointed but leaves.
Jasmine is asleep in a hospital room; Alex tells Robbo and Colby that she’s sleep-deprived and also slightly dehydrated. She lets Robbo in but tells him not to wake her…or barricade himself in. She points out to Colby that Willow has been worried about Jasmine and a visit might do them both good. She also gets him to arrange extra security. Meanwhile, Mason and Willow are leading a group of clients. Mason offers to cover for Willow if she wants the afternoon off. He notes he hasn’t seen Tori in months, but accepts that’s different since he knows she’s safe. Colby appears and tells Willow they’ve found Jasmine. She hurries off with him; Mason says he’ll let the others know.
Jasmine wakes up and Robbo gives her a drink of water, telling her she crashed. He gives her back her rings, saying they found them at the warehouse. Colby and Willow turn up and Jasmine and Willow are delighted to be reunited; Willow has brought her a change of clothes. Robbo steps away from them and calls Lance, who is focusing on Tori. Colby approaches and notes there’s no sign of the car; Robbo predicts that it’s been dumped and the kidnappers will be lying low. He overhears Jasmine telling Willow that she was expecting the worst and needs to get away rather than put herself and Robbo through that again. Later, when Robbo is with them, Willow notes Mason did tell everyone, since she has twenty messages including one from John and Marilyn. Alex says family only now and offers Willow a lift back to town. Alone, Jasmine admits she hoped her body wouldn’t be found so Robbo wouldn’t have to see it again. She says she understands he wants to see it through but she needs to be safe.
Roo and Maggie walk by the road. Roo notes Alf has obviously missed Martha. She asks if there’s any news on Ben’s case but Maggie says there’s nothing. Maggie wonders how things will progress between Alf and Martha but Roo thinks they’re set in their ways, noting Martha even stays in a van when she’s there. Meanwhile, Alf and Martha arrive back at the house. Alf calls out and concludes they’re alone; Martha comments on sneaking around like teenagers. She takes Alf’s hat off and he says he’s got a wardrobe full of them. He suggests she stays in the house this time. Martha jokes that it’d be a town scandal and Ryder would be scarred for life, but notes she’d like to check out his bedroom, leading him in that direction.
Colby is concerned to find Robbo in the flat when he arrives home but Robbo assures him Jasmine’s fine. Colby notes that the men Jasmine mentioned all work for a Victor Devlin. Robbo isn’t interested in the news however, saying Lance is taking over the case and he is taking Jasmine abroad. Colby wonders about Tori; Robbo says he thought about it but they can’t risk moving her this close to giving birth, and may rethink afterwards. He thanks Colby for everything he’s done; they shake hands, and Robbo elects to take a raincheck on decking him before saying he has one more farewell to do. He goes to a graveyard with a bunch of flowers, apologising for being away so long.
Willow and Alex arrive back at the surf club garage. Willow gushes about how good it was to see Jasmine before apologising for gabbling. She thanks Alex for helping her and Alex says she just kept her company. Willow comments that Alex always knows the right thing to say and Alex jokingly refers to her third year medical oral. Willow says it feels like she’s known Alex for years. Alex kisses her. They both look shocked; Alex apologises and hurries away. Back at the graveyard, Robbo looks at the headstones of Lauren, Sophia and Lucas. He notes the children will have a new baby sister soon, although he’s not sure if he’ll get to meet her, and they’ll always be in his heart. Someone approaches behind him; Robbo turns round but they punch him unconscious.
