Extended Summary

Willow and Dean wonder what Mackenzie’s up to. Ziggy approaches, wondering what’s going on, but Dean says it’s nothing and he has to go to work. Ziggy pumps Willow for information and she explains about Mackenzie being Rick’s daughter. Ziggy joins Dean inside, commenting that just as Brody leaving solves her problems, he gets one. Dean says Mackenzie is no big deal but Ziggy disagrees. Ben asks Dean to keep an eye on the shop while he sorts things out at the farm but Ziggy says Dean needs to take a break and drags him out.

At the Diner, Jasmine listens in as Robbo has a phone conversation with Tori, arranging to meet her. He explains to Jasmine that Tori has an appointment booked for tomorrow but doesn’t need Jasmine to come since he thinks, with Tori having listened to the doctors, there’ll be better news now. Jasmine gets a text saying the wedding invitations have arrived. Robbo has to get to the gym so tells her to go ahead without him. Jasmine heads home where, after a bit of teasing, Willow shows her the box. Jasmine notes it brings it home. Looking at the guest list, Willow asks if any of the men on it are single but loses interest when she hears they’re Robbo’s friends from the Feds. She asks about his parents but Jasmine can’t tell her anything: She’s never met them.

Dean and Ziggy walk on the beach. Dean says Mackenzie supposedly only found out about him recently. Ziggy is quite pleased that Rick paid Dean off and people found out anyway. Dean explains he apparently has three siblings, with Kayla and her brother from Rick’s second marriage, and that Mackenzie’s the same age as him; Ziggy catches the implication. She tries to talk further but Dean heads back to work. Later, they chat at the farm house. Ziggy thinks there’s nothing wrong with Mackenzie wanting to get to know him but Dean thinks her buying Salt, probably with Rick’s money, is proof she’s dodgy. Ziggy points out that while she might be Rick’s daughter, he’s Rick’s son, and something good may come out of it. Dean isn’t convinced.

Jasmine gets a phone call from Robbo, who offers to help her with the invitations. Jasmine says she’s better off doing it on her own given his handwriting. They meet up and head to Salt together, where they explain to Mackenzie that they booked the place for their reception. Mackenzie says that if it’s booked she’ll honour it and sends glasses of champagne to their table. Jasmine tells Robbo she’s decided he can do the stamps: She’s only going to hand deliver the ones to Irene and Willow. She asks for his parents’ address; Robbo says they know the date and have RSVPed but Jasmine wants it done properly. Willow comes in and sits with them, saying she needs to keep an eye on Mackenzie.

Later, Willow and Jasmine attempt to watch Mackenzie surreptitiously but she looks straight back at them. Robbo notes they need to brush up on surveillance techniques. Willow follows Mackenzie out onto the balcony. Mackenzie has no problem with the fact that Dean told Willow about her but says what she wants is none of Willow’s business. Willow says she and Colby are the only family Dean has. “Until now,”Mackenzie points out. Meanwhile, Jasmine and Robbo are back home and Jasmine admits to having no idea what Willow was doing. She asks Robbo about growing up on a farm. Robbo says it was pretty mundane: They got up, did their jobs and went to school, although he remembers big family dinners. Jasmine comments on him being the baby of the family and asks about his brother and sister. He says Sarah has her own property but Daniel never took to farming and joined the army.

Next morning, Ben, Dean and Ziggy are arranging to move the boards from the surf club to the farm. Mackenzie comes past but Dean ignores her. Ziggy tries to get him to talk to her but he says they need to get on with the work. Back at the beach house, Willow asks Jasmine what she’d do if someone came up and said they were related to her; she stresses it’s not for herself but won’t say what it’s about. Jasmine says she’d believe them if they had proof but would wonder why they’d got in touch now and what they wanted.

Ziggy comments to Dean on having to help out family, saying Coco had the right idea moving away. Dean says if Ziggy had, then they wouldn’t have hooked up. Mackenzie passes through on her way to Salt and Ziggy convinces Dean to go after her. Willow comes in and is filled in. Up in Salt, Dean asks Mackenzie why she’s there. She says she just wants to get to know him and that Rick had nothing to do with buying the restaurant: She doesn’t live off an allowance from him so needs to make her own money. She is annoyed that Rick never told her about him when she could have grown up with a brother. She gets another call from Rick but again ignores it, telling Dean stuff him.

Robbo puts the stamp on the last letter, addressed to his parents (Ian and Wendy Shaw). Willow comes back and says the gym’s okay; Robbo goes to have a shower before meeting Tori, suggesting he and Jasmine post the invites on the way. Willow explains to Jasmine about Dean and Mackenzie, saying he’s got a whole family he never met. Jasmine knows how that feels, since she doesn’t know the family she’s marrying into. At the Diner flat, Dean asks Colby his opinion of Mackenzie before explaining she’s his sister. He doesn’t see the point of getting to know her: They’re not kids and have their own lives. Colby says if he’d thought that he’d never have found Bella and suspects Dean wouldn’t be there if he wasn’t tempted.

Robbo rejoins Jasmine but she says she’s not sure they should send out the invitations, suggesting they might need to change their plans based on Tori’s scan results. Robbo doesn’t think it will change anything. Jasmine admits she’s bothered about meeting Robbo’s parents on their wedding day. Robbo thinks it’s too late to do anything now but Jasmine says she wants to meet them before the wedding, even if it means postponing it.
