Tori and Robbo reach a final decision on their IVF plans. A moral dilemma for Jasmine has a major effect on Robbo’s future happiness. An adventure lands the teen-trio in a life-threatening situation.
Extended Summary
Mason runs into Jasmine near the beach. She asks if he’s going to the gym and then to walk with him to the Diner, despite him warning her he’s not good company. He asks about Robbo, telling her it looks like the IVF won’t happen. Jasmine thinks it doesn’t make a difference and being friends is less complicated. At the same time, Robbo follows Tori from the flat. She thinks he isn’t ready to be a dad. Mason and Jasmine come along in time to overhear Tori saying she has to do what’s best for the baby and Robbo bitterly asking if she thinks that isn’t him. Jasmine wonders if she should go after Robbo; Mason reminds her what she said about not being complicated.
At the Morgan house, Tori bemoans to Leah about hurting Robbo. Leah suggests she ask someone else but Tori thinks she can’t go through it again and needs to go back on the waiting list. At the surf club, Raffy and Coco are unimpressed by Ryder’s supplies but do agree to go with him. He reminds them of the plan: They say they’re going to the movies together, then at the last minute, when it’s too late for anyone to check, Coco and Raffy say they’re staying at each other’s. He’s going to tell Leah he’s going to be home late and she’ll go to bed. Ben overhears part of the conversation and Ryder bluffs that he was talking about studying for English. He tells the girls people will tell stories about what they’re doing.
Jasmine comes across Robbo out for a run. She tells him she saw him with Tori before and he says he thought he had it figured out but he was wrong. They go back to his flat where Robbo explains about going to see Meredith and how she and Tori think he’s trying to replace his children. He says Tori doesn’t believe he’s doing it for the right reasons. Jasmine asks what the right reasons are since he obviously misses his children. Robbo says he just wants to be a dad again.
Tori is on the phone to the clinic and learns she will have to go to the bottom of the waiting list. Mason comes home and she tells him the IVF with Robbo is off, reflecting that she’s glad no-one knows so she doesn’t have to tell them. Mason says Jasmine knows. Tori is outraged and brushes aside his explanation that she was asking questions, saying it’s none of their business. Meanwhile, Jasmine is walking with Irene, who suggests that the IVF not happening means there’s a chance for Jasmine and Robbo. Tori comes along and Irene lets her and Jasmine talk alone. Tori asks Jasmine to keep quiet about the abandoned IVF plan. Jasmine says she’s already spoken to Robbo. Tori wonders if she’s making a mistake. Jasmine says Robbo wants it and suggests she talks to him.
Ryder and Raffy buy food off Leah at the Diner, saying they’re taking it to the movies. Leah asks what they’re going to see and they say they’ll decide when they get there. They also promise that it won’t affect Ryder’s studies and that John and Marilyn know. Ryder thinks things are going well but Raffy reminds him Coco is bad at lying. At the farm house, Ben finds Coco packing a bag. She says she’s going to the movies and Maggie knows; Ben is happy she’s spending time with Ryder. Coco gives a gabbled explanation for the bag, about healthy snacks and spare jumpers. Ben offers her a lift into town. Coco accepts, grabs her bag tightly and says she’ll wait in the car.
Ryder, Raffy and Coco are searching a rural area of Mangrove River for the house. Ryder claims it’s haunted by the ghosts of a family that lived there. They finally find an old, rather posh-looking and sealed up house. Although the doors are locked, Ryder says there’s no turning back and to phone their guardians. At the Diner, Ben takes the call from Coco and tells Irene that he and Maggie have the house to themselves for the night. Irene goes over to Jasmine’s table and asks what happened with Tori. Jasmine says she had to advise her to talk to Robbo. Irene suggests that she might not.
At that moment, Robbo is letting Tori into the flat. She apologises for not hearing him out before. Robbo says that he wasn’t always there for his children and fought with Lauren about it, including the day they were killed. He says he should have been there but they taught him it’s important for him to be a dad. Later, Tori heads home where Mason apologises for being a jerk and not supporting her and says he’s here now. Tori asks if this is the old Mason back and Mason says it’s a version of him. Tori says he did her a favour anyway: Speaking to Jasmine led her to go to Robbo and the IVF is back on.
Ryder pries open the covering of one of the windows at the house, revealing a gap. The girls are uncertain so he goes in first. There is a crash…then he pops up and says he was only joking. He leads the girls inside, where they are impressed by the upper class décor, with Raffy making a debutante-like speech from the stairs. Ryder tells them they’re going to the basement and that it’s booby-trapped and there might be bodies hidden there. Meanwhile, Jasmine finds Robbo outside the Diner. He thanks her for helping bring Tori round. Tori comes along and says they’ve got an appointment at the clinic tomorrow. As Tori and Robbo head off, Jasmine looks disappointed.
Ryder leads Raffy and Coco into the basement, telling them a ghost story where a woman hears a tapping at the window but there’s no-one there. Raffy interrupts to cast doubt on the story of the house. Ryder shows them the hidden room of the hideout with the escape tunnel. The girls worry about the River Boys coming back but Ryder convinces them to stay the night as planned. Later, he is continuing his story; Coco is rapt but Raffy is mostly interested in snacking. Ryder says the tapping came from the tunnel where the woman saw a man with her husband’s head on a stick. Raffy says that’s exactly like a hitchhiker story John told. Ryder insists it happened there but the girls settle down to sleep. Ryder is disappointed but takes a long look down the tunnel.
