Extended Summary

Outside the Diner flat, Colby runs into Willow who asks where Dean is. She is surprised to learn that he isn’t in lock-up as she thought but got bail. Colby also reveals that Dean moved out but he doesn’t know where he went, thinking he was with Willow. Willow has an idea where he’ll be if he wants to clear his head. She heads down the beach and runs into Robbo, who tells her about meeting Dean at Salt and giving him the money for the motel. Willow is surprised that he accepted. She texts Dean asking where he is and saying to call her.

Robbo runs into Alf at the surf club. Alf says he’s getting a delivery in at the bait shop and could use a hand. Robbo is ambivalent and Alf says he doesn’t have to do it if he doesn’t want to. Robbo says he’ll pass. Back on the beach, Ben comes back from a surf and tells Maggie, who’s been sitting watching, that they have to go: He needs to pick up some orders from the shop. Maggie is fed up of sitting around and suggests they go into Yabbie Creek to get a book for Coco. Ben offers to leave her at the Diner while he picks up the orders, checking she’s got her mug.

At the Diner, Marilyn is telling Alf and Irene that John refuses to discuss things with her. Irene points out that Marilyn is taking extra shifts to avoid him. Marilyn says that she doesn’t want Raffy listening to them arguing and it’s not as bad as she made out, which convinces no-one. Jasmine comes in and tells Irene she aced her assessment so is going to the gym. Alf isn’t convinced gym’s a good thing but recalls doing Scottish dancing with Don Fisher and mentions Robbo’s mood. Irene suggests the “date” didn’t go well; Jasmine says it wasn’t a date but it do go well and goes to find out what’s wrong. She finds Robbo lifting weights but he deflects her attempts to talk, saying he wanted some peace and quiet then heading for a shower.

Willow has called Colby to meet her at Salt but he is exasperated that it’s simply because she can’t find Dean. Willow relates what she’s found out and thinks Dean would call her if there wasn’t a problem. She says his car’s missing and wants Colby to track it. Colby says he’ll get in trouble if the police find out but Willow continues to press him. At the Diner, Maggie is telling Irene and Marilyn that being stuck at home feels like a prison. Ben turns up earlier than she’d hoped and she says she’ll go out for some fresh air. Ben exchanges notes with Irene and Marilyn. Marilyn offers to visit Maggie and Ben is interested in Irene’s idea of a hobby for her.

Back at the farm house, Ben writes a shopping list including the book for Coco. He suggests Maggie do something while he’s out. He comes back for his keys and finds her looking at the 100 day list, which has now got 43 days crossed off. At the Diner, Willow comes in and asks Irene and Marilyn if they’ve seen Dean. Neither of them are particularly bothered about his whereabouts given that he hurt Alf and scammed money off people. Irene does mention she ran into him earlier but hasn’t a clue where he is now. Alf comes in and tells Willow that Dean apologised to them and seemed sincere and appeared to want to move on.

Willow goes up to the flat and tells Colby what she found out. Colby has done some digging of his own and found that Dean filled up at a petrol station: It looks like he’s headed up the coast. Colby admits that Dean has to be at the police station at 10.00 next morning for his check-in, otherwise a warrant will be issued for his arrest. He says there’s nothing more he can do. Willow says there’s something she can do. She heads off onto the wharf where she leaves a phone message for Dean saying if he doesn’t come to the Morgans’ house before his check-in she will go to the police and confess.

Robbo exits the surf club and sees Jasmine sat outside. He tries to walk away but she sees him and asks if he’s avoiding her. He says it’s not her so she invites him to lunch at Salt. He says he has things to do but she says she’ll be there anywhere. Later, at the flat, Colby complains to Robbo about Dean and Willow expecting him to do them favours. Robbo is unsympathetic, saying Colby should do the right thing and tell them he can’t. Colby doesn’t want to risk losing them as friends again. Robbo says you should be able to be straight with friends, a sentiment that obviously strikes a chord.

Maggie is on the phone to Diana, updating her on her isolation. Ben returns home with a box of stuff and Maggie ends the call. Ben says he has brought a load of non-toxic craft material. Maggie protests that she doesn’t paint, draw or knit but Ben says it’s a chance to try. Later, Marilyn drops round to see Maggie with some natural hand sanitiser. Maggie has produced a rather large and loose bracelet and says she feels like the real world is going on without her. Marilyn says the recuperation time is important and encourages her to keep at it.

Irene and Jasmine are eating at Salt. Irene again needles Jasmine about her “non-dates” but admits she’s done a good job with Robbo. Robbo then comes in and tells Jasmine they need to talk. Meanwhile, Willow is waiting at home. She hears someone come in and thinks it’s Dean but it’s Justin. She gives him a hug of welcome and says she’s pleased things went well for him. Justin asks what’s going on.

Jasmine and Robbo go for a walk on the headland. Robbo says he couldn’t talk in front of Irene and says them being friends doesn’t work because he sees her as more than that. Jasmine says that wasn’t what she intended. Robbo says he knows but asks if she feels the same way. Jasmine says she doesn’t. Robbo walks away.
