Extended Summary

Colby sees Robbo outside the surf club but Robbo is short with him and tells him to stop sticking his nose in. Inside, Jasmine tells Irene that she’s stuffed up, explaining that Robbo saw their friendship differently. She recalls that Irene saw it and thinks it was her fault. Irene thinks Robbo will be all right but thinks Jasmine should give him some space. Meanwhile, Willow has filled Justin in on Dean’s charges and the fact it happened because he was paying off her debt. Brody and Ziggy come in and Brody congratulates Justin on getting access. Justin and Willow quickly excuse themselves to get a bite to eat and Brody guesses Justin knows about Dean.

Outside the Diner, John asks Ben if he’s seen Marilyn and Ben says she was going to see Maggie. John mentions Brody and Ziggy moving out and how Ben’s adjusting and wouldn’t want anyone else moving in just yet. Alf cuts in, telling him to let Ben go and go home himself to talk to Marilyn. John thinks Marilyn was in the wrong and it’s too soon to get another foster child. At the farm house, Maggie has put on an old shirt and poured out some paint, getting down to the art. Ben comes home but she refuses to let him see what she’s done.

Justin isn’t impressed by Willow’s account of them hurting Brody’s business and Alf. Willow confirms the police don’t know about her. She exchanges text with Russell before explaining about the voicemail she left Dean. Justin says he understands people do dumb things because of addiction and promises to help. Next morning, Ziggy finds Brody cooking breakfast but he says three burners aren’t working and they need a new stove, so they’ll have to have a barbecue when her parents come over. They realise they’re out of coffee and decide to raid the house, only to find Dean asleep in the garden.

Inside, Justin asks Willow if she’s heard from Dean but Willow says she’s only got a reminder from Colby. At that moment, Brody and Ziggy bring Dean in. He quickly realises Justin knows and asks to talk to Willow outside. He tells her he went up the coast but isn’t sure about his sign-in. He also says if Willow does confess he’ll tell the police she’s lying. Willow says she cares about him but Dean tells her to move on. Justin watches through the window and asks how Willow’s been doing, annoyed that she, Tori and the others kept him out of the loop. Brody says she’s been doing okay but could relapse because of the worry about Dean. Justin decides he has to help him.

Ben gets a phone call from Ziggy, which he thinks is about fixing the bathroom, but is actually the invite for dinner. Maggie agrees and thinks they should bring a housewarming present. Ben suggests kitchen stuff and Maggie’s painting. Maggie goes to get wrapping paper; Ben sneaks a look and appears very bemused. At the Diner, Jasmine asks Irene if she’s seen Robbo and Irene confirms he didn’t come in for his coffee. Jasmine also asks Colby who confirms Robbo was in a mood: She explains what went on.

Justin and Willow discuss Dean’s state of mind and how he seems resigned to going to jail. Justin tells Willow to focus on her recovery and leave him to look after Dean, adding that he meant what he said before he went away. Willow says she’s going to ask John about getting her job back. Meanwhile, Maggie has had the tour of the flat. Ben shows off the kitchen plates they brought and Maggie gives Ziggy the painting: A rather oddly coloured and slightly misshapen depiction of a bowl of fruit. Maggie and Ziggy both agree it’s terrible but Ziggy and Brody decide to hang it up anyway.

Colby brings Robbo a coffee at the flat. Robbo says he has to go and help Alf but Colby says he’s been happier since he’s been spending time with Jasmine and thinks he should fix their friendship. Robbo simply thanks him for the coffee. Shortly after, Robbo runs into Jasmine after finishing a run on the beach. She apologises for how she handled it but Robbo says it’s fine and they can still hang out. However, he turns down her suggestion they go to the gym, claiming he has to continue his run.

Colby runs into Dean outside the surf club and offers his help but Dean says Colby has made it clear he’s a police officer before he’s his friend. Dean goes up to join Justin in Salt. Justin says Willow’s going to worry so he’s going to try and keep Dean out of jail. He offers him his shifts back at the garage but Dean walks away. Justin follows him downstairs where Dean says he’s going to jail for years and is scared.
