Extended Summary

Robbo comes down from the Diner flat, warming up for a run. Jasmine approaches and he tells her Colby’s at the tribunal. Jasmine notices his ankle monitor has gone and he confirms the charges were dropped. Jasmine tries to raise the subject of Ebony but Robbo just gives curt answers before leaving. Inside the Diner, Irene approaches a shocked-looking Olivia. As Jasmine joins them, Olivia says the company in Melbourne rang and offered her the job. She starts Monday if she takes it, meaning if she does she’d have to leave tomorrow.

Leah hovers around Hunter as he works on his laptop, asking about his course and his lecturer. Hunter sees through the pretense so Leah straight out tells him that a relationship with Christina would be wrong. Hunter refuses to listen and leaves. Leah explains to Alf but Alf says Hunter isn’t a kid anymore and has to work it out for himself. Down on the beach, Christina grunts with exertion as Hunter directs her doing bicycle kicks. He helps her up and suggests a long slow massage for a warm-down. Christina instead strips off, saying they both need to cool down. She goes for a swim and Hunter follows her.

At the police station, the Deputy Commissioner quizzes Colby with McCarthy sitting in. She asks him about keeping quiet about his links with the River Boys. Colby says he hoped his work would speak for itself. The Deputy Commissioner points out he currently lives with Dean, who the previous night was involved in a robbery. Colby says Dean helped the police. The Deputy Commissioner adds that it was Dean’s testimony that cleared Colby over killing Boyd. Later, she questions McCarthy who says Colby didn’t confess until after the newspaper article and, after being suspended and told to keep away from the River Boys, met with Dean. The commissioner calls a break and tells Colby when they get back they’ll discuss his tattoos and why he never removed them.

Leah and Tori chat at the surf club. Tori says she’s booked an appointment at a fertility clinic in the city, hoping to avoid local gossip. She comments on how there’s a clinic that specialises in samples from Nobel Prize winners and says she’ll tell her family what she’s doing when Justin gets back. After Leah’s gone, Jasmine approaches Tori to chat about Robbo. She says he just seems to have shrugged off what happened with Ebony. Tori says Robbo feels things more deeply than he lets on. Without giving details, she reveals he lost his family.

Christina is getting dressed after the swim. She tells Hunter she has to get going but they arrange to meet up the next day to go over the stats. Mason has been approaching throughout and, after Christina has gone, congratulates Hunter on going for it. Hunter says nothing’s happened but Mason thinks it’s “on like Donkey Kong”. At the police station, Colby tells the Deputy Commissioner that his family moved to Mangrove River after his father died and Dean was the first friend he made, before they joined the River Boys. He says Dean’s loyal and he won’t stop being friends with him. He also says being a police officer is in his blood: Not just because of his father but because of everything he’s been through. He says he kept the tattoos because they’re part of who he is: A cop that used to be a River Boy.

Irene notices Olivia has been working on some new designs. Olivia still isn’t sure whether or not to take the job, saying she was burnt by the Find. Irene says that whatever happens she’s proud of her. Up in the flat, Colby ponders to Robbo whether it’s too late to become a pro surfer, thinking he could do with a back-up if he doesn’t get his job back. Robbo says he’s a good cop. Colby wonders if Robbo has any plans for the future. Robbo says he doesn’t even know what he’s having for breakfast.

Next morning, Robbo is warming up for a run when Jasmine approaches and offers her services as a training partner. Robbo says he prefers to run alone but Jasmine says they’re running the same track and he gives in. Elsewhere on the beach, Leah approaches Christina, saying she’s been looking after Hunter. Christina denies Leah’s accusation that she’s abusing a position of power. Leah says Hunter will be hurt if she uses him for a casual fling and then discards him.

McCarthy has visited Colby at the flat. Colby asks about what McCarthy said at the tribunal. McCarthy says Colby’s the best officer he has but needs to know where the line is. He says he’s reinstated as senior constable but will be closely monitored. Colby admits he needs a new badge since his other one got burnt. McCarthy tells him to come in early on Monday and they’ll sort it. Meanwhile, Jasmine leads Robbo up to the headland where Mason has set up a punching bag. Mason gives Jasmine the gloves and leave her to it. Jasmine starts punching the bag, telling Robbo about her experiences with David and how it was a good outlet.

Irene finds Olivia on the wharf. Olivia notes how beautiful the place looks in the morning. She says it feels like she’s leaving her home, friends and family. Irene confirms that it feels like she’s losing a daughter. Olivia decides to take the job. Meanwhile, Robbo critiques Jasmine’s efforts so she invites him to take over, saying it might be a good way for him to let things out if he won’t talk. Without gloves, Robbo punches the bag more and more frantically.

Hunter finds Christina, who didn’t turn up for the meeting. Christina tells him about her run-in with Leah. Hunter wants to ignore her but Christina says she can’t work with him anymore and will get someone else to take over. Hunter heads home and angrily tells Leah that it wasn’t her place and he isn’t her son. Leah thinks she needed to step in but Hunter says it’s none of her business.
