Extended Summary

Hazel is still hanging out in the motel room. Ebony gets a text from Robbo. Hazel asks if she’s sleeping with him, saying she wouldn’t blame her if she did. Ebony says it’s not about that but Hazel thinks there must be a reason she’s turned down so many opportunities to get rid of him. Meanwhile, Robbo runs into Colby near the surf club and learns he got back into town ten minutes ago. Colby says no date has been set for his tribunal and it could be months. Robbo gets a text and says he’s meant to be meeting Ebony. Colby wonders what happened to the idea Robbo mentioned before he left. Robbo says there’s been no luck yet.

At the Diner, Marilyn talks to John on the phone. She gives an update to Raffy, who is still unhappy about being kept in the dark. Marilyn says Ty had a right to privacy but Raffy thinks he was using her and insists on going home instead of talking. At Salt, Robbo brings Ebony her drink. He gets a phone call with no caller ID and goes aside to answer it. Lance tells him Ebony has no criminal record but Robbo tells him to dig deeper. Ebony suggests they get a takeaway and go back to his place and Robbo agrees. Ebony notices his phone when he leaves it on the table, but Robbo comes back for it.

Ebony is surprised when they arrive back at the flat to find Colby there. Robbo tells him he can stay but Colby says he’ll eat downstairs. Ebony says if she’d known Colby was back she’d have suggested going somewhere else. She puts the takeaway aside and passionately kisses Robbo, indicating she wants to go further. Robbo is shocked and asks for a minute, going into the bathroom and splashing himself. There is another phone call with a voicemail. Ebony listens to it; Lance says that her real name is Lisa and she has some dodgy associates. She deletes the message and, when Robbo comes back, says she was wrong to push him when he’s lost someone. She leaves. Later, she complains to an unsympathetic Hazel and says she’s going to fix it.

Ryder is playing about with the pool balls at the surf club. Alf asks if he needs to talk. Ryder thinks Alf thinks he was wrong to keep quiet about Ty. However, Alf says Ryder was right to keep his secret yet told people when it was important, adding that he’s proud of him. Next morning, Ryder is in Ty’s room (eating his breakfast) while Jasmine does obs. Jasmine says a doctor needs to see Ty to discharge him and goes to get his crutches. Ryder says as far as he’s concerned, nothing’s changed: Ty’s still his mate and it’s just less competition with girls. John turns up as Ryder leaves; Ty says they were talking about “mate stuff”. He admits he ran away because he was worried they’d be disappointed and hate him. John says Ty is being true to himself, which is brave.

Marilyn tries to spend quality time with Raffy at the surf club but Raffy sees her as having taken Ty’s side and wants to be alone. When Marilyn says they need to sort it before Ty gets out of hospital, Raffy replies that she cares too much for him to make it hard for him. Later, John brings Ty on crutches to see Marilyn at the Diner. Ryder comes in and John suggests they all have coffee together. Raffy comes in and tells Ty she’s pleased he’s all right but declines an offer to join them, saying Brody needs help with the wedding so she’s moving back in for a few days. Ty suggests he should go and John and Marilyn don’t want anyone to go but Raffy says she’ll be with her family and Ty has his.

Ebony goes to the hospital, disguised with isolation clothes and a stethoscope. She finds a list of controlled drugs and takes a bottle. Jasmine comes out into the corridor to get some crutches but doesn’t see her. Ebony goes to the Diner flat to see Colby. She acts agitated, asking if Robbo’s there and for a glass of water, but when Colby turns his back she knocks him out with a frying pan. At the surf club, Robbo gets a call from Lance and is confused by his references to a message. Lance sends him a scan of Ebony’s ID, which shows her full name is Lisa Ebony Harding and also her connection to Boyd and Hazel.

Ebony has Colby tied up and gagged as she prepares a syringe of the stolen drug. She speaks to Robbo on the phone; they both pretend to be interested in a liaison and she suggests they meet at her motel room at 1.00. Ebony then flicks water over Colby to bring him round. She explains she’s Boyd’s sister and that the drug is a muscle relaxant used in anaesthetics: Under it, you can’t talk or breathe. As she speaks, Robbo has difficulty finding his car keys and almost goes back to the flat but then realises he left them in the ignition.

Ebony injects Colby and, to show how helpless he is, ungags and unties him. She then makes a phone call to the police saying she heard a woman being attacked in Room 16…where Robbo is just arriving. Leaving Colby, Ebony drives away, pausing long enough to say “See you later, Summer Bay.” Robbo enters the motel room to find Hazel lying dead on the floor, an empty bottle of poison and the sound of approaching police.
